Domestic Terrorism Far Greater then Foreign

The following video documents one part of attacks on Jewish Centers and Synagogues across the country this week… The simple fact is, driven by hate speech on the right, much of it supported by the Chumph, hate crimes and domestic terrorism is on the rise.

What’s more dangerous: Islamic extremism or Christian extremism?

Looking at 10 years of data, one fact stands out: There are more, if less deadly, attacks from far-right extremists

On a Tuesday morning in September 2001, the American experience with terrorism was fundamentally altered. Two thousand, nine hundred and ninety-six people were murdered in New York, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Thousands more, including many first responders, lost their lives to health complications from working at or being near Ground Zero.

The 9/11 attacks were perpetrated by Islamist extremists, resulting in nearly 18 times more deaths than America’s second most devastating terrorist attack – the Oklahoma City bombing. More than any other terrorist event in U.S. history, 9/11 drives Americans’ perspectives on who and what ideologies are associated with violent extremism.

But focusing solely on Islamist extremism when investigating, researching and developing counterterrorism policies goes against what the numbers tell us. Far-right extremism also poses a significant threat to the lives and well-being of Americans. This risk is often ignored or underestimated because of the devastating impact of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

We have spent more than 10 years collecting and analyzing empirical data that show us how these ideologies vary in important ways that can inform policy decisions. Our conclusion is that a “one size fits all” approach to countering violent extremism may not be effective.

By the numbers

Historically, the U.S. has been home to adherents of many types of extremist ideologies. The two current most prominent threats are motivated by Islamist extremism and far-right extremism.

To help assess these threats, the Department of Homeland Security and recently the Department of Justice have funded the Extremist Crime Database to collect data on crimes committed by ideologically motivated extremists in the United States. The results of our analyses are published in peer-reviewed journals and on the website for the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism & Responses to Terrorism.

The ECDB includes data on ideologically motivated homicides committed by both Islamist extremists and far-right extremists going back more than 25 years.

Between 1990 and 2014, the ECDB has identified 38 homicide events motivated by Islamist extremism that killed 62 people. When you include 9/11, those numbers jump dramatically to 39 homicide events and 3,058 killed.

The database also identified 177 homicide events motivated by far-right extremism, with 245 killed. And when you include the Oklahoma City bombing, it rises to 178 homicide events and 413 killed.

Although our data for 2015 through 2017 are still being verified, we counted five homicide events perpetrated by Islamist extremists that resulted in the murders of 74 people. This includes the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, which killed 49 people. In the same time period, there were eight homicide events committed by far-right extremists that killed 27 people.

These data reveal that far-right extremists tend to be more active in committing homicides, yet Islamist extremists tend to be more deadly.

Our research has also identified violent Islamist extremist plots against 272 targets that were either foiled or failed between 2001 and 2014. We are in the process of compiling similar data on far-right plots. Although data collection is only about 50 percent complete, we have already identified 213 far-right targets from the same time period.

The locations of violent extremist activity also differ by ideology. Our data show that between 1990 and 2014, most Islamist extremist attacks occurred in the South (56.5 percent), and most far-right extremist attacks occurred in the West (34.7 percent). Both forms of violence were least likely to occur in the Midwest, with only three incidents committed by Islamist extremists (4.8 percent) and 33 events committed by far-right extremists (13.5 percent).

Targets of violence also vary across the two ideologies. For example, 63 percent of the Islamist extremism victims were targeted for no apparent reason. They just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, often visiting symbolic locations or crowded venues such as the World Trade Center or military installations.

In contrast, 53 percent of victims killed by far-right extremists were targeted for their actual or perceived race or ethnicity. Far-right extremists, such as neo-Nazis, skinheads and white supremacists, often target religious, racial and ethnic, and sexual orientation and gender identity minorities…

Anonymous Threatens the Chumph…But Will They Deliver?

I have said all along that the Chumph’s background is rife with evidence of fraud, bribery, and other misdeeds. They are not that hard to dig out. Anonymous makes a lot of noise, but unfortunately the last few go-rounds haven’t really produced much of significant substance. So…For what it is worth.

Anonymous – A Paper Tiger?

Anonymous warns Trump: ‘You are going to regret the next 4 years’

The hacker collective Anonymous has a reputation for delivering ominous messages, and in recent days, the group has begun targeting President-elect Donald Trump in a serious way

A series of messages posted on Twitter and include allegations that the group plans to reveal sordid information about Trump.

“This isn’t the 80’s any longer, information doesn’t vanish, it is all out there. You are going to regret the next 4 years,” one message read.

In another, the group alleges Trump has “financial and personal ties with Russian mobsters, child traffickers, and money launderers.”

So far the hacking group has provided no concrete evidence to back up those claims.

Anonymous vs Ted Cruz

Got this one from over at Subrealism, which is a great somewhat right of center site run by a friend.

Anonymous is now threatening to expose Cruz’ visits to the ladies of the night. Not sure anyone in the Republican Party other than his wife and kids cares…But it is a thought.

Now…Who did Trump hire to do the video work?

Trump Threatens Gun Violence

This POS needs to be taken out to the woodshed with a switch, and learn what his Momma ain’t taught him. Now he is encouraging his minions to use guns.

Days after promising riots Donald Trump vows: ‘We’re going to win with our Second Amendment’

Donald Trump, who has recently predicted riots at the GOP convention in Ohio this summer if he is denied the nomination, issued what could be interpreted as a threat at an Arizona rally on Saturday.

As the GOP front-runner spoke in Phoenix, his rally was beset by protesters, many of whom brought traffic to a halt while police officers used pepper spray to try and control the anti-Trump crowd. Trump has in the past vowed to “ruin” the lives of people protesting against him by having them arrested.

On Saturday, Trump launched into promises that “we are going to win,” but took it a step further.

“We’re going to win with our Second Amendment,” he said as the crowd cheered. “We’re gonna win big league with our Second Amendment!”

Watch the speech in full here. Trump’s comment’s about the Second Ammendment are made at about the 24:40-minute mark.

If you can stomach watching this POS –

Threats Begin in Response to Trump Fascism

The problem with encouraging a culture of violence by your supporters as a politician…Is at some point it comes back to bite you in the ass. At this point it is impossible to tell whether the threat to Trump’s grandchildren came from the left or right.

Trump Family Threatened

Threatening letter sent to Donald Trump’s son, Eric

The Secret Service, FBI and New York Police Department are investigating what sources tell CBS News is a threatening piece of mail sent to Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump.

The mail, sent to Eric Trump at his posh Manhattan residence at 100 Central Park South, also known as Trump Parc East, was opened by his wife Thursday.

A source close to the investigation said the letter had a Massachusetts postmark and warned that if Donald Trump doesn’t withdraw from the race for the Republican presidential nomination — paraphrasing — harm will come to the kids.

A source familiar with the matter said the envelope contained suspicious white powder that’s been sent to a lab for testing. The source said a preliminary field test indicated the substance didn’t appear to be hazardous.

No injuries were reported.

Black Contribution to Gun Threats on Campus

As MLK said, Hate fosters Hate…

University Of Chicago Shooting Threat A Response To Laquan McDonald Video

Jabari R. Dean, 21, of Chicago, threatened to kill 16 white male students or staff at the school.

Federal authorities said an online threat that led the University of Chicago to cancel classes Monday targeted whites and was motivated by the police shooting of a black teenager, video of which was released last week and sparked protests.

Jabari R. Dean, 21, of Chicago, threatened to kill 16 white male students or staff at the school on Chicago’s South Side, according to the criminal complaint.

Dean, who is black, was arrested Monday morning. He did not enter a plea later in the day on a charge of transmitting a threat in interstate commerce in court. Dean is a freshman studying electrical engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and wore a red sweat shirt emblazoned with the name of that school at the hearing.

The threat was posted Saturday, just days after the city released a video of Officer Jason Van Dyke, who is white, shooting 17-year-old Laquan McDonald, who was black, 16 times.

Van Dyke is charged with first-degree murder, and his bond was set for $1.5 million on Monday. That means Van Dyke needs to pay $150,000 to be released, and Van Dyke’s attorney said he was hopeful his client could be released in the “very near future.”

Authorities said Dean posted online from a phone that he would “execute approximately … 16 white male students and or staff, which is the same number of time (sic) McDonald was killed” and “will die killing any number of white policemen that I can in the process.”

The criminal complaint, released by the U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago, said someone tipped the FBI on Sunday to a threat that was posted on a social media website. The FBI was unable to find the threat online, and was provided a screenshot by the person who reported the threat.

That led them to Dean, who admitted to FBI agents that he posted the threat and took it down shortly after posting it, the complaint said. Despite the threat mentioning three guns, a prosecutor said Monday that Dean did not appear to pose a threat. The complaint did not say whether Dean possessed any weapons.

The University of Chicago, where President Barack Obama taught law, first alerted students and staff Sunday night about a threat that mentioned the quad, a popular gathering place, and 10 a.m. Monday.

The University of Chicago statement urged faculty, students and non-essential staff to stay away from the Hyde Park campus through midnight Monday and told students in college housing to stay indoors. The cancellations of classes and activities affected more than 30,000 people, though the University of Chicago Medical Center was open to patients.

Not sure what Mr Dean thought he was accomplishing in threatening an attack on 16 innocent fellow students. Seems to me his anger and targets (not to mention violent response) are misplaced – anger at the innocent symptom of the problem instead of it’s cause and support structure.

Hate also makes you stupid.

Gun Crazy…Woman Threatens to Shoot Man For Asking for a Light

Once again we see the result of NRA and conservative media fearmongering…This woman needs minimally to have her Gun Permit pulled – and shouldn’t be a gun owner. Pulling a gun for no reason, and aiming it at a group of people, including a child is reason enough. She quite simply – isn’t psychologically stable enough to be allowed on the street with a gun.

And the guy wasn’t asking for a cigarette…He was asking for light for cigarettes he had just bought.

Tenn. woman busted after pointing gun at black man asking for a cigarette from 10 feet away

A 67-year-old Tennessee woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after drawing her gun on a black man authorities said posed no threat to her, WTVF-TV reported.

“I have never been so afraid of anything in my whole life I don’t think,” Sherry McLain said of the encounter in a Walmart parking lot last weekend. “This guy is the bad guy and I’m the one in handcuffs walking away.”

According to the Murfeesboro Daily News Journal, security footage shows 52-year-old James Crutchfield walking past McLain and turning toward her, but not behaving toward her in a threatening manner.

McLain has insisted that Crutchfield approached her even after she drew her handgun and told him to stop. But the footage actually shows him backing away from her with his hands up before approaching another woman, Diane Miller, and telling her to call the police before running into the store. WTVF reported that Crutchfield never got within 10 feet of McLain during the encounter.

Crutchfield told police that he had asked McLain if she had a cigarette lighter since he had just bought cigarettes in the store, only for her to brandish her weapon. The footage reportedly shows McLain lowering her gun after he got away from her, only to raise it again when Crutchfield approached Miller and a child.

Miller’s daughter, Keeley Benoit, corroborated the police’s account of the incident, saying that “the gun was being pointed at the three of them and [McLain] says, ‘I’m going to shoot you. I’m going to kill you.’”

McLain, who has a legal permit for the gun, faced a $15,000 bond and was also charged with reckless endangerment.

“What are we supposed to do if we can’t protect ourselves?” she asked. “I’m 67 years old.”
