One father of a marcher in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend is denouncing his own son after the young man was seen on national news spouting hate.

In a letter to Fargo, North Dakota’s Inforum, father Pearce Tefft wrote that his family wasn’t sure where his son Peter picked up his racist beliefs.

“I, along with all of his siblings and his entire family, wish to loudly repudiate my son’s vile, hateful, and racist rhetoric and actions,” Tefft wrote, clarifying that he certainly didn’t learn such values at home.

“I have shared my home and hearth with friends and acquaintances of every race, gender, and creed. I have taught all of my children that all men and women are created equal. That we must love each other all the same,” he continued. However, he acknowledged, that Peter chose another path.

The family has remained largely silent, but Tefft said these recent events pushed them over the edge. Remaining silent, he believed, would be a mistake.

“It was the silence of good people that allowed the Nazis to flourish the first time around, and it is the silence of good people that is allowing them to flourish now,” he wrote.

He went on to say that his son is no longer welcome in their home or at family gatherings until he renounces the hate. The beliefs of the younger Tefft has also brought hate targeted at his relatives, who are being considered guilty by association.

His father recalled a time when his son joked, “The thing about us fascists is, it’s not that we don’t believe in freedom of speech. You can say whatever you want. We’ll just throw you in an oven,” Tefft recalled.

“Peter, you will have to shovel our bodies into the oven, too. Please son, renounce the hate, accept and love all,” the father closed.

Peter’s nephew also denounced him, according to local news outlet WDAY 6.

“In brief, we reject him wholly – both him personally as a vile person who has HIMSELF made violent threats against our family, and also his hideous ideology, which we abhor,” his nephew Jacob Scott said. “We are all bleeding-heart liberals who believe in the fundamental equality of all human beings.”

“Peter is a maniac, who has turned away from all of us and gone down some insane internet rabbit-hole, and turned into a crazy nazi. He scares us all, we don’t feel safe around him, and we don’t know how he came to be this way. My grandfather feels especially grieved, as though he has failed as a father.”

After a day of verbal and physical street confrontations between white nationalists, the KKK, and neo-Nazi groups and anti-racist and anti-fascist demonstrators…

The group passing through the crowd in the first video aren’t necessarily Drumph “supporters”. They are the group selected (or paid to) stand behind the candidate during the speech so that the TV Cameras get the image of an “inclusive” crowd. Finding black, Hispanic, or Asian Trump supporters in the actual crowd would be difficult, so it is common at Republican events to “pepper” the crowd with people of color, by paying folks they find on the street to attend, shout, and cheer. It is a common Media practice and goes back to the early days of Rock and Roll, where “Clickers” were people salted into an audience to loudly clap and cheer to get the audience going, or to at least provide the illusion, in the event the Artist in question was not very good – that people were actually cheering their performance.

Violence returns as Trump’s campaign hits California’s biggest Republican stronghold — Orange County

Chaos broke out outside of a massive Donald Trump rally in Orange County, California, Thursday night.

The unrest erupted outside the Pacific amphitheater where Trump staged his first campaign rally in America’s most populous state at the Orange County Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa.

ccording to ABC News, closer to 18,000 Trump supporters gathered inside as the Republican frontrunner gave the Golden State a tailored spin on his controversial campaign of xenophobia, parading a host of California families whose loved ones had been killed by undocumented immigrant in California and reaffirmed his pledge to build a giant border wall only miles away from the U.S.-Mexico border.

“Trump is here to save us all,” said Jamiel Shaw, Sr., whose 17-year-old son Jamiel Shaw, Jr., was killed by an undocumented immigrant in 2008.

Outside, thousands more flooded the streets in protest of Trump and things quickly turned violent in the heart of the state’s biggest Republican stronghold, as the Associated Press reported:

Dozens of cars—including those of Trump supporters trying to leave—were stuck in the street as several hundred demonstrators blocked the road, waved Mexican flags and posed for selfies. Police in riot gear and on horseback pushed the crowd back and away from the venue. … The crowd began dispersing about three hours after the speech ended. …

Earlier in the evening, a half-dozen anti-Trump protesters taunted those waiting to get into the venue. Trump supporters surrounded one man who waved a Mexican flag and shouted “Build that wall! Build that wall!”—a reference to Trump’s call to create a barrier between the United States and Mexico to stop illegal border crossings.

 

It’s Not a Riot…When it is White Folks

Let’s see, car windows smashed, police vehicles burned, Trader Joe’s and other stores looted… 2 Police injured…

We are talking about an upscale “civil disturbance” here.

The key here is they looted Trader Joe’s…Ostensibly just for a bit of Yerba Matte to clear tear gas sting and re-align their chakras…

At least two officers were injured as demonstrations over police killings turned violent in California overnight, with protesters smashing windows and hurling rocks at cops, according to authorities. Berkeley Police said officers used smoke and tear gas after crowds refused to disperse. What started out as a peaceful protest devolved into chaos when “splinter groups broke off and began hurling bricks, pipe, smoke grenades, and other missiles at officers,” according to Berkeley Police spokeswoman Jennifer Coats. She said six people were arrested in the melee.

She said “numerous officers” were struck and that one officer who was struck with a large sandbag was treated for a dislocated shoulder at a local hospital. Protesters vandalized cars, smashing windows and looting businesses, according to Coats, who said a Trader Joe’s, a Radio Shack and a Wells Fargo Bank were vandalized along with “numerous” police cars. The local police department was reinforced by more than a hundred officers from other local police departments, highway patrol and the county sheriff’s office.

Because 80% of the crowd in upscale Berkeley, Ca was white folks…It could not have been a riot!

 

 

How the Tea Bagger Racism Kills Americans

Those old enough to remember the Vietnam War may remember one of the most divisive and bitterest incidents during the war – the visit by Jane Fonda to North Vietnam while American Troops and North Vietnamese troops were actively engaged in trying to kill each other. Go to any VFW in America, and you will find a bunch of folks who view Jane Fonda with the sort of derision usually reserved for foreign enemies like Hitler or Tojo.

Strongly opposed to the Vietnam War, “Hanoi Jane’s” picture sitting on an anti-aircraft gun utilized to shoot down American Pilots gave me a lot of heartburn. There is a Grand Canyon size distance between opposing the actions of your government, and supporting the folks shooting at your friends, brothers, fathers, and fellow Americans.

Which brings us to the situation today. If Hanoi Jane was a traitor – then so too are the small legion of Tea Baggers currently putting our troops in the Middle East at risk so that they can promote ethnic racism. The Peter Kings, Alan Wests, Herman Cains, Michelle Bachmans et al are traitors too. In the case of Bachman, King, and West – they are even lower level scum because they are elected officials of the US Government, and as such are briefed on what happens to American personnel when crap like their Muslim baiting hits the press.

My position is that these scumbags should be impeached and convicted by their peers – and suffer the legal consequences.

I’m not sure if any Americans were killed in this one – but this is the logical conclusion of the sort of ethnic and religious racism and extremism promote by the Tea Baggers.

How many of our soldiers have died because of these treasonous, racist scum?

UN staff killed during protest in northern Afghanistan

At least eight foreign UN workers and four others have been killed in an attack on a UN compound in the Afghan city of Mazar-e Sharif, officials say.

The violence happened during a protest over the burning of the Koran in a US church last month.

Witnesses said hundreds of people were protesting peacefully in the city when the scene suddenly turned violent.

A local police spokesman told the BBC the city was now under control and a number of people had been arrested.

The UN has confirmed its workers were killed but has not said how many – it said the situation remained “confusing”.

“We are currently working to ascertain all the facts and take care of all our staff,” said spokesman Dan McNorton.

UN officials quoted by Reuters warned that the death toll could rise and added that those killed included foreign and local staff, UN guards and Nepalese Gurkha soldiers hired to protect the compound.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon described it as “an outrageous and cowardly attack”.

US President Barack Obama also condemned the attack “in the strongest possible terms”, saying the work of the UN “is essential to building a stronger Afghanistan”.

F*** condemning the attack, President Obama. What you need to be doing is offering the choice of a rope or a bullet to the right wing American scum whoring our people’s lives for political points.

 

Oscar Grant Verdict

Following the announcement of sentencing of BART Officer Johannes Mehserle for the murder of Oscar Grant, there were protests in Oakland. While most of the protest was peaceful, a group did break off and started a riot, resulting in 152 arrests.

Now it will undoubtebly be conveyed in the MSM that it was black folks protesting (and rioting) – but as you will see from the video, the people protesting came from a large cross section of the local population.

How this will be distorted in the MSM…

Is indeed part of the problem.

Now, being a sports shooter myself, owning weapons of similar capacity as the BART Police use, and having also handled a Taser – I’m not sure I buy the Defense line of confusion between the two. There are a lot of differences between the weight, grip, trigger placement, and color of the weapons – which seem to me to make confusion pretty difficult, if not impossible. Near as difficult as confusing the feel of a revolver with a semi- auto. The manufacturers of Taser weapons in fact, go out of their way to design the weapon to be distinguishable, to prevent such confusion.

While I think the full 15 years would have been excessive…

I think the 2 year sentence was a bit on the light side.

LA Riot Erupts After Police Shooting

A broiling mob protesting the police shooting death of a Guatemalan immigrant in Los Angeles faced off last night against cops in riot gear who fired non-lethal foam projectiles at demonstrators. At least one man was injured as some 300 people set street fires and gathered outside a police station on the second night of protests against the weekend shooting. A police sign was torn down and eggs and rocks were hurled at the station’s windows. Police—who blame a group calling itself the Revolutionary Communist Party for stirring things up—say Manuel Jamines, 37, was shot after he refused to drop a knife he was using to threaten cops.

Only 40 seconds elapsed between the time police confronted Jamines and when he was shot dead, according to police chief Charlie Beck, who has launched an investigation into the killing. Those who knew him described Jamines as a friendly, hard-working father of three who liked to drink on weekends but was never violent, reports the Los Angeles Times. “Killing a drunk isn’t right,” said Jamines’ cousin. But “getting drunk and threatening bystanders and LAPD officers with a knife is self-destructive in any language,” the Los Angeles Police Protective League said in a statement. “This was not a controversial shooting.”

Beck/Palin rally permit approved

The National Park Service said Thursday that it has approved the permit for the Aug. 28 Glenn Beck/Sarah Palin rally at the Lincoln Memorial.

Park Service spokesman Bill Line said the permit indicates that organizers expect 300,000 people to attend. Line said it is a “fixed rally” without a march. The rally will go from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The park service is processing a permit request for a counter demonstration and rally by the Rev. Al Sharpton on the same day along Independence Avenue, south of the memorial. Line said the Sharpton rally organizers list 3,000 expected attendees on their permit request.

 

The Black Hatfields and McCoys

The most famous American family feud was that between the Hatfield and McCoy families who lived in the mountains on either side of the Kentucky – West Virginia border. The feud spanned about a 75 year period after the Civil War, and resulted in a number of murders, shootouts, and beat downs as each family sought revenge for the wrongs, percieved or real from the other. 100 years later the feud is memorialized in frescoes along the Tug River Dam, and has become American Legend. The families have long since buried the hatchet, and at the last joint family get together over 5,000 relatives showed up.
