The Penguin quits!

Trey Gowdy a Tea Party political hack Benghazi freak is resigning.

Guess he finally got to read all the evidence of the Chumph-Russia collusion. This is two in a row quickly resigning from the House Oversight Committee.

Rep. Trey Gowdy abruptly announces retirement from Congress

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) announced his retirement from Congress shortly after some of his Republican colleagues were in a train wreck involving a garbage truck.

The South Carolina Republican abruptly announced Wednesday he will not seek re-election in November but will instead return to the justice system.

“Whatever skills I may have are better utilized in a courtroom than in Congress, and I enjoy our justice system more than our political system,” Gowdy said. “As I look back on my career, it is the jobs that both seek and reward fairness that are most rewarding.”

The 53-year-old Gowdy, a former district attorney and federal prosector, has represented South Carolina’s 4th congressional district since 2011, when he was elected as part of the Tea Party wave.

Gowdy chaired the United States House Select Committee on Events Surrounding the 2012 Terrorist Attack in Benghazi from 2014 to 2016, and he called for the prosecution of Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign.

He has chaired the House Oversight Committee since the abrupt resignation of former GOP Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT).

Sen. Al Franken Resigns

Not sure while Democrats are resigning while Republicans committing child rape get to keep their offices.

Yet another Yellowback Dumbocrat Donkey move. Jefferson Davis Sessions is dancing in his office, because he knows the Democrat women who forced him out ain’t gonna do Jack Shit to prosecute him.

The same cowardly crowd afraid to ge after the serial molester Chumph, Uncle Tommy Clarence, or the child rapists on the right.

Al Franken announces he will resign from the Senate

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) announced on the Senate floor Thursday that he is resigning in the coming weeks following multiple allegations that he sexually harassed women.

Franken’s decision comes a day after a majority of Senate Democrats called for his resignation after determining that they could no longer tolerate his presence.

They turned on one of their party’s most popular figures with stunning swiftness, led by the Senate’s Democratic women, who were joined in short order by more than half of the Democratic caucus.

Franken struck a defiant tone during his remarks on the Senate floor.

“Some of the allegations against me simply are not true, others I remember very differently,” he said.

But Franken said the situation had become too much of a distraction and would prevent him from fully fulfilling his duties as a senator if he stayed in office.

“But this decision is not about me. It’s about the people of Minnesota,” he said. “It’s become clear that I can’t both pursue the Ethics Committee process and at the same time, remain an effective senator for them.”

He added: “I may be resigning my seat, but I am not giving up my voice.”

Conyers Exits…Stage Left

Conyers got away with this for a long, long, time…

Now it has caught up with him.

As for Congress…Conyers biting the dust is only the beginning.

Rep. John Conyers Jr., who faces allegations of sexual harassment, says he is retiring today, endorses son as his replacement

An attorney for Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) cast doubt Tuesday morning on reports the congressman won’t seek reelection following a slew of sexual harassment allegations.

Arnold Reed, a Detroit-area attorney, suggested on Twitter that a younger Conyers relative was not aware of his great-uncle’s plans when he told reporters he planned to run for his Michigan congressional seat next year.

The younger relative, Ian Conyers, told the Times his great-uncle would not seek reelection due to health concerns.

“The congressman will make his decision this morning consistent with my previous statements,” Reed tweeted. “I’m not responding to rumor and innuendo regarding Ian Conyers. I have not spoken to Ian Conyers and no one is aware of the congressman’s plans except he and I and his wife.”

Conyers, the longest-serving member of Congress, has been under pressure from Democratic leaders to resign since several former staffers alleged he made inappropriate advances toward them over the past two decades. He has denied wrongdoing.

The New York Times first reported Tuesday that Ian Conyers, the grandson of Conyers’s brother, plans to run for the seat.

“He is not resigning. He is going to retire,” the younger Conyers told the paper. “His doctor advised him that the rigor of another campaign would be too much for him just in terms of his health.”

Messages left with the younger Conyers were not immediately returned Tuesday morning.

The elder Conyers is expected to announce his plans at 10 a.m. Tuesday on a Detroit-area radio program.

Since We are Cleaning House – Uncle Tommie Clarence Needs to Go as Well

The confirmation hearings on Clarence Thomas’ ascension to the Supreme Court featured what was probably the first nationwide coverage of sexual harassment in the workplace.

Uncle Tommie got a walk.

With the number of folks now losing their jobs and positions for acts like those of Thomas…Perhaps the ultimate test of whether the current flurry of sexual harassment punishments is a “fad” or something we will take seriously going forward is whether Thomas receives the same treatment. Whether he is punished or not has some rather serious implications relative to the Supreme Court’s already badly battered credibility.

Clarence Thomas must resign

Utah Republican Orrin Hatch called “bullcrap” on Ohio Democrat Sherrod Brown last week. The Senate Finance Committee lion tore into Brown for “spewing” that the Republican tax plan to transfer a trillion dollars to the rich was in reality a Republican tax plan to transfer a trillion dollars to the rich.

I got my first dose of Hatch during the wall-to-wall coverage of the confirmation of Clarence Thomas, George H.W. Bush’s Supreme Court nominee. Hatch was the Republicans’ designated questioner of Anita Hill. She was called to testify because she’d told the FBI that Thomas had sexually harassed her 10 years earlier, when he was her boss at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Education.

Sitting behind her were her mother, Erma (“who is going to be celebrating her 80th birthday”); her father, Albert; her sisters, Elreathea, Jo Ann, Coleen and Joyce; and her brother, Ray. No way she was going to lie to the committee, or to us, in front of them.

Hill testified that Thomas had repeatedly asked her out, and that she repeatedly refused. So he demeaned her. He told her someone had once “put a pubic hair” on his Coke can. He said porn star Long Dong Silver had nothing on him in the endowment department.

Hatch called her charges “contrived” and “sick.” He claimed she’d stolen them. The pubic hair, she’d taken from page 70 of “The Exorcist.” Long Dong Silver, she’d lifted from a Kansas sexual harassment case.

Hill agreed to a polygraph test, and passed. Thomas refused. He called the hearings a “high-tech lynching for uppity blacks.”

It was painful to watch Hatch slime Hill. Women who’d also been sexually harassed found in the hearings no reason to be less fearful of telling their stories. Nor, later, could they take comfort in how Bill Clinton’s accusers were reviled. Or Bill O’Reilly’s. Or Roger Ailes’s.

But something changed. The tipping point may have been Donald Trump bragging to Billy Bush about assaulting women. Sixteen of his victims had the courage to say he’d harassed or groped them.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump’s escape from accountability for that predation contributed to the decisions by Harvey Weinstein’s victims to talk on the record to Jodi Kantor and her New York Times colleagues and to Ronan Farrow at the New Yorker. Before long, more than 80 women attested to Weinstein’s assaults as far back as 1990.

Then nine women gave the Washington Post detailed accounts of Alabama Republican senatorial candidate Roy Moore’s history of pedophilia and abuse. They knew the blowback would be brutal. They did it anyway.

Still, Moore won’t quit. Why would he? Kay Ivey, Alabama’s Republican governor, says she’ll vote for him even though she believes his accusers. Better to elect a pedophile than a Democrat who’d vote against a Supreme Court nominee who’d overturn Roe v Wade.

Now Senator Al Franken is in the crosshairs. The Minnesota Democrat offered an apology to Leann Tweeden for “completely inappropriate” behavior in 2006, which she accepted, and he asked for an ethics investigation of the incident. Calls for his resignation illustrate the fallacy of false equivalence; they’re the witch-hunt Trump claimed had victimized him.

Hill was a thoroughly credible witness. Thomas has no stronger case for his innocence than do Trump, Moore or Weinstein. Pressed to defend Trump’s sexual improprieties, his press secretary said the American people “spoke very loud and clear when they elected this president.” No to put too fine a point on it, but she’s spewing bullcrap. Elections don’t decide culpability.

In the wake of the Hill/Thomas hearings, a record-breaking 117 women made it onto the federal ticket in the 1992 election. The 24 women elected to the House that year was the largest number in any single House election, and the three elected to the Senate tripled the number of women senators.

That sharp uptick didn’t persist. If you think that today’s 80% male Congress isn’t good enough, check out Project 100, which is working to elect 100 progressive women to Congress by 2020, the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote. Full disclosure: my daughter is a co-founder. As her dad, and as the onetime speechwriter for the first presidential candidate to pick a woman as his running mate, you can imagine how proud of her I am. And how hopeful she and her young teammates make me feel.

Acting DHS secretary quitting after Kelly berated her for not expelling Honduran refugees: report

Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Elaine Duke plans to resign in protest over pressure from White House officials to expel tens of thousands of citizens of Honduras who are saying in the United States under protected status.

The Washington Post reports that White House chief of staff John Kelly called Duke into his office this week to pressure her to expel Hondurans who came to the United States as hurricane refugees.

“Duke refused to reverse her decision and was angered by what she felt was a politically driven intrusion by Kelly and Tom Bossert, the White House homeland security adviser, who also called her about the matter,” the Post’s sources claim.

The publication’s sources also say that Duke “has informed Kelly she plans to resign” in the wake of this week’s incident.

Although Kelly told Duke that she was responsible for making the final decision on extending the refugees’ residency permits, Duke still felt that it was an inappropriate intrusion into her work.

“They put massive pressure on her,” one administration official, who was familiar with the interactions between Duke and White House officials, told the Post.

Duke had wanted to proceed carefully with the case, as the Honduran refugees in question have now lived in the United States for two decades now.

Can’t Work for a Criminal – DEA Chief Resigns

How could any Law Enforcement official work for the criminal/racist Chumph? Or work with a racist like Sessions.

Seems to me to be a violation of any professional ethics to work for a traitor and criminal who abuses the Constitution and ignores the Law.

Acting DEA Chief Chuck Rosenberg Plans To Resign

Chuck Rosenberg, acting head of the Drug Enforcement Administration, will resign at the end of the month.

Rosenberg, a holdover from President Barack Obama’s administration, announced Tuesday that he would be stepping down from the DEA and leaving the Department of Justice, according to an email sent to DEA staff and obtained by The Washington Post and The New York Times. HuffPost also confirmed the contents of the email with sources who have an understanding of internal DEA matters. Anonymous law enforcement officials told the Times that Rosenberg had become “convinced that President Trump had little respect for the law.”

“The neighborhoods in which we live are better for your commitment to the rule of law, dedication to the cause of justice, and perseverance in the face of adversity,” Rosenberg wrote, according to the Post. “You will continue to do great things. I will continue to root for you, now from the sidelines.”

It’s not immediately clear who will replace Rosenberg, who has been acting head of the DEA since 2015. According to a source with knowledge of internal discussions at the DEA who was not authorized to speak on the matter, Col. Joseph Fuentes, head of the New Jersey State Police, was believed to be a leading candidate to replace Rosenberg.

Trump’s selection of a permanent successor would likely set up a contentious confirmation battle, which could serve as a proxy for a larger ongoing debate over the nation’s drug laws.

Another Chumph Casualty – Chaffetz

Rep. Jason Chaffetz announces that he will step down in June

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, announced Thursday that he will step down on June 30, leaving his seat in the House before the end of his term.

“[A]fter careful consideration and long discussion with my wife, Julie, we agree the time has come for us to move on from this part of our life. This week I sent a letter to Governor Herbert indicating my intention to resign from Congress effective June 30, 2017,” he wrote, in a letter to his constituents.

He continued, “[A]s I celebrated my 50th birthday in March, the reality of spending more than 1,500 nights away from my family over eight years hit me harder than it had before.” Chaffetz also told constituents, “We feel my time in congress has been well spent, but it now seems the right time to turn the page.” He said he’s never believed he was indispensable and added, “I know others can and should serve.”

In April, Chaffetz announced his decision not to run for re-election in 2018, surprising many and opening up speculations about a potential run in the Utah governor’s race.

He was first elected to represent Utah’s 3rd Congressional District in 2008 and won four separate re-election campaigns by wide margins.

The congressman currently serves as Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. His decision to leave early comes after his invitation for ousted FBI Director James Comey to testify before Congress Wednesday regarding his memos about his converstations with President Trump and investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Comey has not yet confirmed if he will attend the hearing.

Chaffetz told CBS News this week that he wants to conduct the Comey hearing “as publicly as we possibly can.” On Tuesday, he said in a tweet that he is prepared to subpoena the memos.

CIA Exodus Because of Trump

A lot of folks in the Government feel the same way…

I didn’t think I’d ever leave the CIA. But because of Trump, I quit.

Edward Price worked at the CIA from 2006 until this month, most recently as the spokesman for the National Security Council.

Nearly 15 years ago, I informed my skeptical father that I was pursuing a job with the Central Intelligence Agency. Among his many concerns was that others would never believe I had resigned from the agency when I sought my next job. “Once CIA, always CIA,” he said. But that didn’t give me pause. This wouldn’t be just my first real job, I thought then; it would be my career.

That changed when I formally resigned last week. Despite working proudly for Republican and Democratic presidents, I reluctantly concluded that I cannot in good faith serve this administration as an intelligence professional.

This was not a decision I made lightly. I sought out the CIA as a college student, convinced that it was the ideal place to serve my country and put an otherwise abstract international- relations degree to use. I wasn’t disappointed…

Image result for trump at cia

Trump is standing in front of the most sacred place at the CIA – the wall commemorating those who died in service to America. Their names are not listed on the wall for security reasons. Not only a national disgrace – but a lot for patriotic Americans risking their lives to handle.

As a candidate, Donald Trump’s rhetoric suggested that he intended to take a different approach. I watched in disbelief when, during the third presidential debate, Trump casually cast doubt on the high-confidence conclusion of our 17 intelligence agencies, released that month, that Russia was behind the hacking and release of election-related emails. On the campaign trail and even as president-elect, Trump routinely referred to the flawed 2002 assessment of Iraq’s weapons programs as proof that the CIA couldn’t be trusted — even though the intelligence community had long ago held itself to account for those mistakes and Trump himself supported the invasion of Iraq.

Trump’s actions in office have been even more disturbing. His visit to CIA headquarters on his first full day in office, an overture designed to repair relations, was undone by his ego and bluster. Standing in front of a memorial to the CIA’s fallen officers, he seemed to be addressing the cameras and reporters in the room, rather than the agency personnel in front of them, bragging about his inauguration crowd the previous day. Whether delusional or deceitful, these were not the remarks many of my colleagues and I wanted to hear from our new commander in chief. I couldn’t help but reflect on the stark contrast between the bombast of the new president and the quiet dedication of a mentor — a courageous, steadfast professional — who is memorialized on that wall. I know others at CIA felt similarly.

The final straw came late last month, when the White House issued a directive reorganizing the National Security Council, on whose staff I served from 2014 until earlier this year. Missing from the NSC’s principals committee were the CIA director and the director of national intelligence. Added to the roster: the president’s chief strategist, Stephen K. Bannon, who cut his teeth as a media champion of white nationalism.

The public outcry led the administration to reverse course and name the CIA director an NSC principal, but the White House’s inclination was clear. It has little need for intelligence professionals who, in speaking truth to power, might challenge the “America First” orthodoxy that sees Russia as an ally and Australia as a punching bag. That’s why the president’s trusted White House advisers, not career professionals, reportedly have final say over what intelligence reaches his desk….

Yet Another Trumpazoid Career Ending Tweet –

View image on Twitter

Notice the origin of the sexist tweet was right wing Lawn Jockey Larry Elder…

How to Twit your way out of Congress! I do love it when Rethugly reprobates self immolate, removing themselves from the virtual political gene pool.

A lawmaker retweeted an offensive post about the Women’s March. Days later, he resigned.

Nebraska State Sen. Bill Kintner stood before reporters on Wednesday morning and called himself a “fighter.”

Kintner, who had previously been involved in a cybersex scandal, this month drew criticism for an offensive retweet about the Women’s March, which appeared to joke about the issue of sexual assault. At the news conference, Kintner, a Republican, said that he had received emails, calls and text messages asking him to stay and continue his work in the state government.

“Well, as much as my heart says to fight, my head says it is time to step away from the legislature,” he said. “It is no secret to anyone who knows me that there have been many disappointing and frustrating times in my over-four years in the legislature.”

Then he continued: “I have concluded that it is wise to step down as a member of the Nebraska legislature.”

Kintner announced his resignation, stating that it would be effective Jan. 30.

“To paraphrase Richard Nixon, you won’t have Bill Kintner to kick around anymore,” he said toward the end of his comments…

The Associated Press reports that Kintner was previously fined $1,000 after admitting to “engaging in mutual masturbation in July 2015 with a woman using Skype, an online video-chatting service.” He used a state computer, according to AP.

More recently, Kintner drew criticism for a retweet to his Twitter timeline, according to reports. The World-Herald, which has posted an image of the retweet, reported that it showed three women who appeared to be carrying signs in a women’s march. The signs referenced a recorded 2005 conversation in which President Trump made inappropriate comments about women.

Above the picture, a person who posted the initial tweet wrote: “Ladies, I think you’re safe.”

Condoleezza Rice Calls On Donald Trump To Drop Out Of The Race

Too bad it’s too late to take him off the ballot.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice broke her silence on the presidential election on Saturday and called on Republican presidential nominee Donald Trumpto end his campaign.

“Enough! Donald Trump should not be President,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “He should withdraw. As a Republican, I hope to support someone who has the dignity and stature to run for the highest office in the greatest democracy on earth.”

Rice, who served as secretary of state and national security adviser to former President George W. Bush, is the latest in a growing list of prominent Republicans who have condemned, unendorsed or called on Trump to withdraw from the race within the past 24 hours.

The wave of revolt against the GOP nominee was prompted by a 2005 video The Washington Post released Friday, which shows Trump bragging about groping and kissing women without consent because “when you’re a star, they let you do it.”

Rice, who is now a professor at Stanford University, has been noticeably quiet this campaign cycle, declining multiple interview requests on national security issues related to the election. Her chief of staff, Georgia Godfrey, did not immediately respond to an email asking if she would vote for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton― or why she waited to distance herself from Trump until it was too late for the candidate to be removed from the ballot.

As Trump gained momentum in the GOP primary race earlier this year, party strategists reportedly tried, unsuccessfully, to recruit Rice to make an independent bid for president.

Rice said she wasn’t interested in serving as Trump’s running mate, but phrased her statement in a way to suggest that her lack of interest was related to the job itself, not the man at the top of the ticket.

“Dr. Rice has repeatedly said in past cycles as well as this one, she’s not interested in being vice president,” Godfrey said in June.

University of Missouri president resigns over criticism of his handling of racial incidents

The president of the University of Missouri resigned Monday amid escalating protests over racist incidents on campus and how he had responded to students’ concerns.

Tim Wolfe announced Monday morning at a special meeting called by the Board of Curators, the university system’s governing body, that he would step down immediately.

Tensions were high on campus Monday — with a student on a hunger strike, others camped out in solidarity, faculty members canceling classes and members of the football team threatening to boycott the rest of the season. In the morning, the MU undergraduate student government association formally called for the removal of the university’s president….Read the Rest Here

MSNBC Wusses Out…Again. Martin Bashir Resignation.

MSNBC commentator Martin Bashir has tendered his resignation to MSNBC. More than likely he was asked to leave by cowardly MSNBC Management. This leaves a huge hole in MSNBC’s lineup, taking away what was by far, their best interviewer. I mean I love you Rachael, but although she is smarter than the entire collection of Faux News bimbos combined, cutting through the bullshit in an interview isn’t her strong point. Bashir is a victim of responding to the Sno’ Ho’s ignorant and racist comments in kind – saying what a lot of us would if we had the microphone.

To be honest, if MSNBC is too chickenshit to call Palin on her pernicious and offensive racist statements…

Then they are too chickenshit for this viewer.

Putting this one under the heading of Domestic Terrorism.

Martin Bashir Resigns From MSNBC Following Sarah Palin Comments

Martin Bashir has resigned from MSNBC following weeks of controversy over his incendiary comments about Sarah Palin, he announced in an email posted byMediaite on Wednesday.

“Upon further reflection, and after meeting with the president of MSNBC, I have tendered my resignation,” the email read in part. “It is my sincere hope that all of my colleagues, at this special network, will be allowed to focus on the issues that matter without the distraction of myself or my ill-judged comments.”

In a statement, MSNBC president Phil Griffin paid tribute to Bashir:

“Martin Bashir resigned today, effective immediately. I understand his decision and I thank him for three great years with MSNBC. Martin is a good man and respected colleague – we wish him only the best.”

Bashir had been a host on the network since 2011, and had frequently raised eyebrows with his hyperbolic commentary. But his comments in November in response to remarks about slavery by Palin touched off a firestorm. Among other things, Bashir said that someone should defecate and urinate in Palin’s mouth, a punishment delivered to some slaves. He apologized, but the comments continued tohaunt him.

Bashir’s resignation came shortly after Alec Baldwin parted ways with MSNBC over anti-gay comments he made towards a photographer. At the time, many wondered why Baldwin, who was suspended for two weeks for statements he made off the air, was seemingly being punished more than Bashir, who was not given any immediate suspension.

Bashir’s departure leaves a hole in MSNBC’s afternoon lineup. Leading candidates for the slot include MSNBC contributor and guest host Joy Reid, along with the recently hired Ronan Farrow. For the time being, Reid will fill in as a guest host.

Another Kwame – Another Fraud

Kwame Brown – Orange Jumpsuit Politician of the Week Award

Small Government is corrupt government. One of the reasons conservatives so love that small government is the opportunity it provides for corruption.

Washington, DC’s city government has a long history and culture of corruption.  Many of the black contractors in the region won’t even consider making sales calls on the DC Government because of internal corruption.

From former Mayor Marion Berry to the current Kwame, this corruption has reached into the highest levels of the DC Government, forming a virtual boat anchor around the necks of the citizenry and the city’s ability to provide services.

The amazing part is that the stakes in the corruption, unlike other big cities – are so small. I’m not real sure this is the type of case Federal prosecutors ought to be chasing, though – as there seems to me to be a lot bigger fish to fry than some moron lying about his income on a loan application. Going after Kwame on this is a bit…

Overboard.

Speaking of boat anchors – Borrowing $50k for a 38′ boat? Obviously he was maxxed out on his Mercedes payment (Kwame had a reputation for driving expensive cars). If he had to borrow $50k for that size boat – he couldn’t afford it anyway. Boats in that size come with 300-600 gallon gas tanks – meaning a fill up for half a tank, which is where most prudent boaters fill – is $750 – $1,500. That doesn’t count $2-3000 a year in slip fees, $1,500 in winterization costs, and normal repairs and maintenance…

It had to be a used boat, because the last time I went to the Annapolis Boar Show, you couldn’t buy the steering wheel on a quality boat in that class for $50k. And I have known guys who spent that much on the electronics package and fishing gear on their boats.

And with the mortgage industry fraud and theft by bank of depositor funds though overdraft and other manipulated fees…

I’m not sure Kwame’s crime rises above theft of stolen money from a thief who stole the money in the first place.

Not to excuse Kwame – But…

I Don’t understand why these prosecutors aren’t putting the real thieves in jail.

D.C. Council Chairman Kwame Brown resigns after he is charged with bank fraud

D.C. Council Chairman Kwame R. Brown resigned from his seat Wednesday night, hours after he was charged with bank fraud, plunging the city government into a leadership crisis.

“Because of the great respect that I have for the institution that is the Council of the District of Columbia, I have chosen the only honorable course in submitting my resignation at this time,” Brown wrote in a letter to the council secretary. “I simply will not hold this body, and its important work hostage to the resolution of my personal indiscretions.”

Earlier in the day, prosecutors filed a three-page charging document in the District’s federal court accusing Brown (D) of falsifying records in applications to obtain a home loan and to buy a $50,000 powerboat. Brown inflated his income by “tens of thousands of dollars” in the two-year scheme that started in August 2005, federal prosecutors wrote.

Brown, dogged for months by an investigation into his personal finances and his 2008 campaign for a council seat, is scheduled to attend a plea hearing Friday before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Leon. Bank fraud carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison, but under federal sentencing guidelines, Brown will face far less potential punishment.

The disclosure of the charges set off a frenzy of activity at the District’s John A. Wilson Building, including a hastily scheduled closed-door council meeting in Brown’s office.

Brown, 41, submitted his resignation quietly, in a letter delivered privately. He refused to address a platoon of reporters as he left his council offices about 4 p.m.

A politician who speaks of himself in the third person, has compared himself to President John F. Kennedy and has a love affair with expensive cars, Brown flashed a large grin as he shoved his way through the scrum and tried to ignore reporters’ shouted questions.

“I will have a comment tomorrow,” said Brown, who as recently as last week said that he was not “worried one bit” about an intensifying federal probe into his finances and a previous city campaign.

The charges against Brown came in a “criminal information,” a document that can be filed only with the defendant’s consent and which signals that a plea deal has been reached. Officials familiar with the case said that prosecutors and Brown’s attorney have been discussing the plea deal for weeks.

“Thank you,” he told reporters as he tried to get to his car. “No comment as of now. I appreciate you for waiting in this hallway all this time. I don’t have a comment.”

On Wednesday night, well after Brown had left the Wilson Building, city workers removed his nameplate from his office door, leaving only the word “Chairman” near Room 504…

Brown is the second council member this year to be charged with a federal crime. Last month, former council member Harry Thomas Jr. (D) was sentenced to 38 months in prison after pleading guilty to stealing more than $350,000 from city taxpayers.

Democrats Wuss Out… Again

I don’t recall that Whorehouse Vitter resigned…

And I don’t recall anyone prosecuting a Supreme Court Judge, Clarence Thomas for taking bribes and lying on his disclosure forms.

What Weiner did is in god-awful taste, and morally bankrupt…

But hardly illegal.

If there is to be law, and the rule of law in this country for much longer – the rule of law has to apply to everybody.

Yellow striped Dems sure aren’t helping solve that crisis.

To President Obama, Nancy Pelosi et al…

The Yellowback Donkey award.
