Open Letter To Michael Steele, Drop The Slang And Stand Up To Racism

Dear Michael Steele,

You are in between a rock in a hard place. You seem to talk one way to Black people and another to your Republican colleagues. Do you really think white Republicans are scared of you? It seems like you are more scared of white Republicans. When you called Rush Limbaugh an ugly, incendiary voice, you apologized promptly. So while the GOP might not be scared of you, you are definitely scared of Rush Limbaugh.

It seems to me that both white Republicans and the African American community seem to view you as a joke. Why do you think Republicans scared of you? Is it because your Black? Why do you feel the need to tell them that your on their side? Shouldn’t they already know that considering you’re the head of the RNC.

Since you’re the head of the RNC, why don’t you do anything about the pattern of racist emails and Facebook scandals your party keeps getting into? When you say change comes in a teabag, are you aware of the racism and ugly Anti-Obama sentiment that comes from these rallies.

Your use of slang makes you more of an outdated stereotype than someone who is in touch with Black culture. Black people aren’t stupid. You can’t just say “what’s up, I’m in the heezy” and just get them to vote for your party. Clearly both Obama and Michelle Bachman seem to treat your use of slang as a joke.

Black people will not become Republicans just because you change the name of the RNC’s blog to “What Up.” That is the name of teen Black pop magazine from the eighties. This just makes it look like you are patronizing the African American community and making the GOP look silly.

The problem with the GOP is not its lack of Black figureheads and the use of slang. The GOP has long written off Black voters and has used Black people as scapegoats to get white votes. They have voted against the interests of African Americans, whether it be affirmative action, funding inner city schools, or social programs.

When you stand up for Joe Wilson after he disrespects the President of the USA during a speech, you are aligning yourself with a man with a very strong history of racism against the first Black president.

Colin Powell is a Black republican who I respect. A man who isn’t scared to speak out against Rush Limbaugh and GOP racism. You on the other hand seem to be more of a tool of the GOP racists who only represents your people and culture with slang that no one over 40 (or under) should use.

Sincerely Casey Gane-McCalla

We’re Number 37

Well… It’s not R&B, but it does have a catchy Hook.

The US is ranked 37th in the world in quality of health care by the World Health Organization which measures health care in countries around the world.

Conservatives rant and rave about “Dumbing Down” the US Education System because the US trails other countries. The US Health System trails other countriesby a far greater measure than our children trail the top performing countries children

Consistency however, isn’t a Republican value – as they should be screaming about …”Dumbing us to Death”.

Crimes Against The Soul

This is absolutely the most awesome piece I’ve seen written in a long time. What it discusses is how we, as a nation got to the point where stupidity is a virtue, and boorishness is accepted as the norm. I’ll only publish the first paragraph, so follow the link to read the rest of this powerful piece.

Hat Tip to HuffPo, and hats off to Caroline Myss for this one –

Crimes Against the Soul of America

There is such a thing as a crime against the soul of a nation. A person or a political party can deliberately incite actions that diminish the strength, the integrity, and the overall well-being of a nation’s inner core. America’s soul is in a fragile state. It has suffered severe violations over the course of this past decade and to lesser degrees, in previous decades. Through the years, the essential integrity of America has been eroded for various reasons but never was it so violated as during the Bush administration. The endless lies, the deceitful years of propaganda that flowed from the West Wing that fed the media, the bogus reasons for setting the Middle East on fire, and converting this country into a corporate state for personal gain are crimes that shattered the soul of this nation more deeply than we have even begun to realize — if we ever will. The consequences of puncturing the soul of a nation are witnessed in countless ways. For example, there is a decline in the integrity of leadership and a growing apathy on the part of the public to care about keeping watch over its leaders. The nation ceases to produce statesmen or stateswomen. The best the public can do is to send semi-qualified individuals to Washington whose capacity to hold to their promises collapse within minutes of unpacking in their new offices. As for the old guard, they are worn out good old boys mixed in with a few new and not-so-new women on the block, who continue to fall into their same old patterns of deal making and breaking. But nothing of great significance ever happens unless motivated by a catastrophe. Any truly positive ideas for change baffle the Congress. What could this be, they wonder? But of all the crimes covertly and overtly committed by the Bush administration against the soul of America, none is as vile as the deliberate efforts they poured into turning American against American. We see that in the near hatred between the Republicans and Democrats, between liberals and conservatives, between free-thinkers and evangelicals that continues to fester. This crime was a strategic one, a well thought out plan to fragment the people of this nation in a type of contemporary replay of the Civil War. And sadly, the Republicans succeeded. Thank you, Karl Rove. The result is that the soul of America is exhausted, wounded, mistrusting, suspicious, fearful — and compromised. This is not a soul that can rebuild a country, not if you know anything about the laws of nature and the fundamentals of healing…

Another Christian Conservative Republican Pervert

Yet ANOTHER Christian Conservative Republican with a zipper problem. This one  in California, talking on tape about having sex with Lobbyists. Lobbyists who are “lobbying” him, and the Committee he chairs…

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Republican state Assemblyman Mike Duvall, a Christian conservative from Southern California, was caught on tape, bragging about his sexual escapades and extramarital affairs with two women. Duvall, who has preached against gay marriage and on behalf of “family values,” bragged about spanking one of the women while a microphone was on in the state capitol. “So, I am getting into spanking her,” he told a Republican colleague. “Yeah, I like it. I like spanking her. She goes, ‘I know you like spanking me.’ I said, ‘Yeah! Because you’re such a bad girl!” Duvall apparently thought a microphone in the state capitol building was turned off when it was actually on.

He then goes on to talk about having sex with a second lobbyist, Read the rest of this entry »

Republican Sedition

This one is an amazing destruction of a Rethugly clown who doesn’t want President Obama to make his speech before School Children!

The real problem here of course is – if the kiddies don’t stay ignorant, they don’t stay Republican.

Anyone remember the Bushit’s “Prayer Books”, asking school kids to pray for him?

Gov. Sanford’s Evangelical Porn Queen State Education Board Chairman?

Fresh from a dalliance with the Argentine Firecracker, it would seem Governor Mark Sanford was on safer ground appointing a “devout” evangelical conservative to the State Board of Education to make sure the kiddies receive a proper, morally upstanding education…

Which we would assume would include 7 or 8 of the 10 Commandments the Governor hasn’t been found to have broken… Yet.

Gov. Sanford's State Education Board Appointee, Kristin McGuire

Gov. Sanford's State Education Board Appointee, Kristin MaGuire

Never mind the fact that the “devout” evangelical in question doesn’t have any children who actually attend the School System, because they have chosen to “home school” them. I mean, isn’t that sort of like a race car driver who never passed the driving test to get a license to drive on the highway?

Eternal right-wing paradoxes and hypocrisy aside, it appears that the new “devout” evangelical, home schooling conservative appointee as Chair of the South Carolina Education Board, and long term member of Gov Sanford’s staff, was using at least one of the three “r’s”…

As an online porn queen.

Kristin Maguire, an Upstate evangelical and one of South Carolina’s most respected social conservatives, has been one of the governor’s closest education policy advisors for years.  She’s also Sanford’s appointment to the S.C. Board of Education, which last year elected her its Chairwoman.

What else is she?

Teen Pregnacy and STDs Rise During Bush Administration

Another in a long list of conservative failures –

Babies Making Babies, and Babies Sick

A Time Magazine Cover from 1985 covering the epidemic in Teen Age pregnancy. After years of turning this around, it's on the rise again, along with the rate of deadly STDs among children because of policies of the Bush Administration.

Teenage pregnancies and syphilis have risen sharply among a generation of American school girls who were urged to avoid sex before marriage under George Bush’s evangelically-driven education policy, according to a new report by the US’s major public health body.

The Devil Made Him Do It! Mark Sanford

In case you didn’t know it – the recent spate of Republican legislators being caught with their pants down with (men and) women (thank goodness it’s not children this time) other than their wives…

Is Obama’s Fault!

What’s a poor, pitiful, out of power religious conservative to do?

Some folks turn to wine or drugs when depressed… Not conservatives!

For them, it’s bimbo-boffing and cheating on their spouses.

Wonder how long before someone comes up with a 12 Step Program for that?

Blame it on the Boogie… Indeed – Read the rest of this entry »

Excorcism – “Gay Demons”?

Apparently Hell is a lot more advanced on the issue of same sex marriage than religious conservatives. Not terribly surprising since their vision for America has brought so much hell to America.

This video, posted up originally on a Church site, purports to show a “Gay Exorcism”…

“We believe a man should be with a woman and a woman should be with a man,” the Rev. Patricia McKinney of the Manifested Glory Ministries told The Associated Press. “We have nothing against homosexuals. I just don’t agree with their lifestyle.”

Seems to me, in light of the “faithful” conservative South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford going AWOL to tango-betwixt-the-sheets with a woman not his wife all the way down in Argentina, and “faithful” conservative Nevada Seantor Joh Ensign doingg the freak nasty with a woman not-his-wife, who was also married…

The Church’s efforts might be better rewarded excorcisng the “Hanky-Panky” Demons amongst supposedly religious conservative  leadership.

The sheets… Indeed Read the rest of this entry »
