Acting DHS secretary quitting after Kelly berated her for not expelling Honduran refugees: report

Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Elaine Duke plans to resign in protest over pressure from White House officials to expel tens of thousands of citizens of Honduras who are saying in the United States under protected status.

The Washington Post reports that White House chief of staff John Kelly called Duke into his office this week to pressure her to expel Hondurans who came to the United States as hurricane refugees.

“Duke refused to reverse her decision and was angered by what she felt was a politically driven intrusion by Kelly and Tom Bossert, the White House homeland security adviser, who also called her about the matter,” the Post’s sources claim.

The publication’s sources also say that Duke “has informed Kelly she plans to resign” in the wake of this week’s incident.

Although Kelly told Duke that she was responsible for making the final decision on extending the refugees’ residency permits, Duke still felt that it was an inappropriate intrusion into her work.

“They put massive pressure on her,” one administration official, who was familiar with the interactions between Duke and White House officials, told the Post.

Duke had wanted to proceed carefully with the case, as the Honduran refugees in question have now lived in the United States for two decades now.

“Trumpstank” May Turn Florida Blue

Anyone who is Hispanic and Republican is in deep shit right now. Republicans in Florida, a state they have managed to hold through voter suppression and razor thin margins…

Are about to become an extinct lower life form species.

That is what happens when a half million new Puerto Rican voters move to Florida because they have no electricity, food, housing, or water due to the Chumph”s racism.

This Trump as president crap show is about ready to finally come to a head as Republican electoral domination in the 2016 races are now looking at major risk.

In my state of Virginia, the Republican Gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie decide to court the Chump’s support…He is now 11 points down in a state where Republicans have been very competitive at the state level. If the chickenshit Democrats don’t do their usual f*&k up trying to be more conservative…Then they have an opportunity to take the Senate, and quite possibly the House.

Tossing Peanuts to the Brown Monkeys

GOP strategist warns: ‘Trumpstank’ could doom Republicans in Florida for years over Puerto Rico insults

Republican strategist Rick Wilson warned that President Donald Trump’s desultory response to the Puerto Rico hurricane was risking the party’s future in Florida for years to come.

As many as 100,000 Puerto Ricans have fled the crisis in the U.S. territory for the nearest state, and hundreds of thousands more American citizens from the island could join them there — possibly for good.

That could transform Florida in many ways, but it could very well end its position as a crucial swing state — especially if Trump follows through on his threat to pull FEMA, military and first responders from Puerto Rico.

“Set aside the WH/FEMA happy talk, and look at the numbers of new Puerto Rican voters in FL in six months,” Wilson tweeted. “They were already inclined to vote Dem. They were already coming here due to economic pressures.”

He warned Republicans to distance themselves from the president’s insulting treatment of Puerto Ricans or risk electoral disaster.

“The situation in P.R. is desperate and he’s adding insult to many injuries,” Wilson tweeted. “Good luck being a GOP candidate who has Trumpstank all over you running in the places they move to in FL. (And they’re mostly moving to FL)”

6/ Pretty simple rule: you don’t blame and insult the people who are victims of a natural disaster. Reap that whirlwind.

The GOP strategist suggested Trump’s inadequate response might appeal to his racist base, but he said it could doom candidates trying to win a general election.

“And because he basically believes Puerto Ricans are Sea Mexicans and not American citizens,” Wilson tweeted, “he knows his base will think tossing paper towels is an adequate response to American citizens suffering desperate conditions.”

Chumph Disaster of the Day 2/2/1017

Yet more stupidity from Putin’s Bitch. This time insulting and hanging up on Australia’s leader!

Malcolm Turnbull

Long Term Ally Australia’s President Tumbull

Trump accuses Australian prime minister of trying to send US the ‘next Boston bombers’ in ‘worst deal ever’

President Donald Trump accused Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull of trying to send America the “next Boston bombers” in an excoriating phone call between the two national leaders to discuss Australia’s plan to send refugees from Manus Island and Nauru to the US.

The Washington Post has reported details of the 25-minute call, which took place over the weekend and reportedly ended prematurely when Trump suddenly hung up on Turnbull.

“This is the worst deal ever,” Trump reportedly told Turnbull, discussing the plan Australia negotiated with the former Obama administration to accept refugees waiting in the offshore processing centers on Manus and Nauru.

The details add another layer of complexity and confusion as to whether the deal will proceed after Trump’s press secretary, Sean Spicer, said earlier this week that the Trump administration would honor the agreement and take 1,250 people from the detention centers, before the White House appeared to backtrack on the resettlement deal just hours later.

Here’s part of how The Washington Post details the conversation between the two leaders:

“At one point Trump informed Turnbull that he had spoken with four other world leaders that day — including Russian President Vladimir Putin — and that, “This was the worst call by far.”

“Trump’s behavior suggests that he is capable of subjecting world leaders, including close allies, to a version of the vitriol he frequently employs against political adversaries and news organizations in speeches and on Twitter.

“US officials said that Trump has behaved similarly in conversations with leaders of other countries, including Mexico. But his treatment of Turnbull was particularly striking because of the tight bond between the United States and Australia — countries that share intelligence, support one another diplomatically and have fought together in wars including in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“The characterizations provide insight into Trump’s temperament and approach to the diplomatic requirements of his job as the nation’s chief executive, a role in which he continues to employ both the uncompromising negotiating tactics he honed as a real estate developer and the bombastic style he exhibited as a reality television personality.

“The depictions of Trump’s calls are also at odds with sanitized White House accounts. The official read-out of his conversation with Turnbull, for example, said that the two had ’emphasized the enduring strength and closeness of the U.S.-Australia relationship that is critical for peace, stability, and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region and globally.'”

The paper says the US president told the prime minister that “I don’t want these people” but that it was his “intention” to honor the deal. Trump apparently kept mistakenly saying the deal involved 2,000 refugees, rather the 1,250 announced by Spicer on Wednesday.

A tweet sent from Trump’s personal Twitter account Wednesday night incorrectly referred to the refugees as “illegal immigrants”

Going Nazi – The Right’s Howl over Syrian Refugees…

Last I checked there were only about 1,600 SYrian refugees that had made their way to America.

  1. That is less than 5% of the 50,000 or so Sarah Palin “Sovereignty” types who want to destroy the Federal Government of the type who brought us the mass shooting of Sikh people in Temple.
  2. Less than 5% of the 70,000  estimated number of KKK, Christian Identity, or Aryan types who want to murder all non whites and take over the government who brought us the mass murder in Charleston and countless other savage attacks..
  3. About the same number as there are extremist “Patriot” and Militia GROUPS in this country, who brought us the Bombing of the Murrah Building.

And we are supposed to stupid enough to believe the immigration of 10,000 more Syrian refugees is going to rock America’s Foundations?

Cases in point.

Rhode Island Republican wants Syrian refugees held in ‘centralized’ camps: ‘Our country is under attack’

A Rhode Island Republican lawmaker has gone one step closer to the Third Reich’s “Final Solution” by saying Syrian refugees should be rounded up and placed in a concentration camp.

State Sen. Elaine Morgan (R) made the comment in a Tuesday email to a member of the public, which she accidentally CC’ed to other lawmakers, WPRI reports.

“If we need to take these people in we should set up [a] refugee camp to keep them segregated from our populous.” Morgan wrote in the email. “I think the protection of our US citizens and the United States of America should be the most important issue here.”

Morgan also launched into a bigoted attack on Muslim people by lumping the entire religious community together with Islamic State terrorists.

“The Muslim religion and philosophy is to murder, rape, and decapitate anyone who is a non Muslim,” she wrote, also stating, “I do not want our governor bringing in any Syrian refugees. I think our country is under attack. I think this is a major plan by these countries to spread out their people to attack all non Muslim persons.”

Morgan said she meant to edit the message but failed to do so properly because she didn’t know how to edit using her smartphone. On Wednesday though, she expressed similar sentiments.

“I can see taking [Syrian refugees] in, but keeping them all centralized – it sounds a little barbaric, but we need to centralize them and keep them in one central area,” she said.

Morgan then went on to suggest refugees should fight in the civil war instead of fleeing, though most of them are women and children.

Ooooh! Here’s an idea! Little yellow stars! And really big ovens…

Trump crosses the Nazi line: Maybe Muslims should wear special ID badges

Donald Trump stuck a toe across the Nazi line Thursday morning in the ongoing hysteria over Muslim immigrants.

The Republican presidential frontrunner refused to rule out requiring Muslims to carry special identification showing their faith — which the Third Reich required Jews to do with a yellow badge that resembled the Star of David.

“We’re going to have to do things that we never did before,” Trump told Yahoo News. “Some people are going to be upset about it, but I think that now everybody is feeling that security is going to rule.”

The Nazi policy was based on an anti-Semitic practice in Medieval and Renaissance European nations, and historians say it played a large role in paving the way for acceptance of the Holocaust.

“The German government’s policy of forcing Jews to wear identifying badges was but one of many psychological tactics aimed at isolating and dehumanizing the Jews of Europe, directly marking them as being different (i.e., inferior) to everyone else,”according to the Holocaust Center. “It allowed for the easier facilitation of their separation from society and subsequent ghettoization, which ultimately led to the deportation and murder of 6 million Jews.”

Trump also refused to rule out warrantless searches as part of his call for increased surveillance of Muslim houses of worship, and he has also suggested that U.S. mosques could be shut down if they are deemed to be a security threat — althoughhe’s not certain that’s legal.

“Certain things will be done that we never thought would happen in this country in terms of information and learning about the enemy,” Trump said. “We’re going to have to do things that were frankly unthinkable a year ago.”

The real estate tycoon and reality TV star said he was open to registering U.S. Muslims in a special database, in addition to requiring them to publicly identify themselves by their faith.

“We’re going to have to look at a lot of things very closely,” Trump said. “We’re going to have to look at the mosques. We’re going to have to look very, very carefully.”

Yeah…There are some folks that America would be better off deporting…except they aren’t refugees or immigrants. Raise the effing National IQ level…

About that Dumb Assed Border Wall

Millions of illegal immigrants flooded over the border to the US because of jobs. George W Bush and the Republican Reprobates took care of that problem. Since 2007, those folks – faced with unemployment – have been going home.

Unless you expect Syrian Refugees to cut grass and hang drywall for a living…Rethugs better be building that wall to keep them here.

More Mexicans Leaving Than Coming to the U.S.

More Mexican immigrants have returned to Mexico from the U.S. than have migrated here since the end of the Great Recession, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of newly available government data from both countries. The same data sources also show the overall flow of Mexican immigrants between the two countries is at its smallest since the 1990s, mostly due to a drop in the number of Mexican immigrants coming to the U.S.

From 2009 to 2014, 1 million Mexicans and their families (including U.S.-born children) left the U.S. for Mexico, according to data from the 2014 Mexican National Survey of Demographic Dynamics (ENADID). U.S. census data for the same period show an estimated 870,000 Mexican nationals left Mexico to come to the U.S., a smaller number than the flow of families from the U.S. to Mexico.

Measuring migration flows between Mexico and the U.S. is challenging because there are no official counts of how many Mexican immigrants enter and leave the U.S. each year. This report uses the best available government data from both countries to estimate the size of these flows. The Mexican data sources — a national household survey, and two national censuses — asked comparable questions about household members’ migration to and from Mexico over the five years previous to each survey or census date. In addition, estimates of Mexican migration to the U.S. come from U.S. Census Bureau data, adjusted for undercount, on the number of Mexican immigrants who live in the U.S….Read the Rest Here

Uncle Ben Carson – “Refugees are Rabid Dogs”

Makes you wonder if he didn’t get that Doctor’s Degree …Mail Order.

If ISIS wanted to do a Public Service for the US…It could certainly clean up some of our right wing scum.

Ben Carson compares Syrian refugees to dogs

Ben Carson likened Syrian refugees fleeing the country’s bloody civil war and Islamic State violence to dogs on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters at following a campaign stop in Mobile, Alabama, Carson stressed that the United States wants smart leaders who care about people, but noted there should always be a balance between safety and humanitarian concerns.

“For instance, you know, if there is a rabid dog running around your neighborhood, you’re probably not going to assume something good about that dog, and you’re probably gonna put your children out of the way,” Carson said. “Doesn’t mean that you hate all dogs by any stretch of the imagination.”

Continuing his analogy, the Republican presidential candidate said that screening refugees is like questioning how you protect your children, even though you love dogs and will call the Humane Society to take the dog away to reestablish a safe environment.

“By the same token, we have to have in place screening mechanisms that allow us to determine who the mad dogs are, quite frankly,” he added. “Who are the people who wanna come in here and hurt us and wanna destroy us? Until we know how to do that, just like it would be foolish to put your child out in the neighborhood knowing that that was going on, it’s foolish for us to accept people if we cannot have the appropriate type of screening.”
