Can’t Wait to Order My New Pizza Plants Through the Burpees Catalogue!

Wow! Now that Pizza has officially been been classified by Congress as a Vegetable, it is only a matter of time before it is in all the seed catalogs!

I mean – if it is a veggie – you ought to be able to order your double pepperoni and cheese with anchovy and mushrooms and plant the seeds right out back. 45 days for a medium – 60 for a large!

One question though… Should I make space for it next to the zucchini or the basil plants?

How Pizza Became A Vegetable Through The Magic Of Influence-Peddling

On Tuesday, Congress decided that pizza is a vegetable. I have to imagine that this news instilled confusion in many Americans, as many Americans are (a) familiar with pizza, (b) familiar with vegetables and (c) sane.

But, to provide specifics that will in no way dispel your lingering thoughts that we are governed by morons but at least allow you some anthropological insight into how a group of morons who have been given permission to sit in a fancy room in Washington, D.C., and grunt at each other actually think, here is their thinking: Pizza is a vegetable for the purposes of determining what goes into public school lunches by virtue of the fact that pizza traditionally includes a schmear of tomato paste. (Botanically speaking, tomatoes are actually fruit, but we’re going to have to just let that slide.)

At any rate, you may still be wondering how it came to pass that Congress arrived at the conclusion that pizza could count as a serving of vegetables. Wonder no more! Congress was guided along this path by lobbyists. And lobbyists can do all sorts of things, by magic! (Except provide nutritious lunches for children.)

Pizza Wars! Worker Burn Down Rival Store

These guys are SERIOUS!

Herman Cain Pizza - Full of Isht, and more than a little burnt

Police: Pizza workers burned down rival store

The battle for pizza supremacy has taken a wrong turn in Florida.

Two managers of a Domino’s Pizza restaurant in Lake City, in north-central Florida, have been charged with burning down a rival Papa John’s location. The motive? Police say one of the men admitted that he believed with his competitor out of the way, more pizza lovers would flock to his restaurant.

The Papa John’s was gutted in the Oct. 20 fire.

Both men — Sean Everett Davidson, 23, and Bryan David Sullivan, 22 — were booked on an arson charge and were being held in jail.

The Star-Banner of Ocala reports that police are still looking for an ignition device that the men claimed they made but did not use to start the fire.

Geez… Folks have no imagination anymore! All the had to do was to put a couple of Godfather’s Pizza signs up near the Papa John’s with the same phone number, and float the rumor it had been bought out by Godfather’s…

And that would have had folks flocking to Dominos!

Herman Cain Pizza…Indeed.

Herman Cain Pizza Song: GOP Candidate Sings John Lennon’s ‘Imagine,’ Dedicated To Pizza (VIDEO)

To John Lennon’s “Imagine”… Herman Cain shows that he should really be trying out for the X Factor, instead of trying to run for political office…

The beginning of the Cain Minstrel Show

Imagine there's no pizza
I couldn't if I tried
Eating only tacos
Or Kentucky Fried
Imagine only burgers
It's frightening and sad
You're lucky you have pizza
To feed for kids for you
Only frosting or cookies
And no dishes you must do
Imagine eating pizza
Each and every day

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Herman Cain on the Koch Plantation

Well – no surprise here who owns the Herman Cain Lawn Ornament…

They own a couple of Supreme Court Justices, including Clarence Thomas – so buying Cain was relatively cheap.

Herman Cain - Selling more than just bad pizza... Selling out America

Pizza Magnate Herman Cain Has Extensive Ties To Powerful Koch Group

Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain has cast himself as the outsider, the pizza magnate with real-world experience who will bring fresh ideas to the nation’s capital. But Cain’s economic ideas, support and organization have close ties to two billionaire brothers who bankroll right-leaning causes through their group Americans for Prosperity.

Cain’s campaign manager and a number of aides have worked for Americans for Prosperity, or AFP, the advocacy group founded with support from billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, which lobbies for lower taxes and less government regulation and spending. Cain credits a businessman who served on an AFP advisory board with helping devise his “9-9-9” plan to rewrite the nation’s tax code. And his years of speaking at AFP events have given the businessman and radio host a network of loyal grassroots fans.

The once little-known businessman’s political activities are getting fresh scrutiny these days since he soared to the top of some national polls.

His links to the Koch brothers could undercut his outsider, non-political image among tea party fans who detest politics as usual and candidates connected with the party machine.

AFP tapped Cain as the public face of its “Prosperity Expansion Project,” and he traveled the country in 2005 and 2006 speaking to activists who were starting state-based AFP chapters from Wisconsin to Virginia. Through his AFP work he met Mark Block, a longtime Wisconsin Republican operative hired to lead that state’s AFP chapter in 2005 as he rebounded from an earlier campaign scandal that derailed his career. Notorious Yogi-X …Pizza Bandit! :)

Who...Me?

If you have followed my blog for a while, you know that I have been tracking the exploits of the “Notorious Yogi-X” – a black bear that has been on a crime spree starting in Maryland last year,  having to leave New Jersey after being falsely accused and being shot by an over aggressive officer, checked out the nightlife in New York City, stopping for a snack in New Hampshire – and finally winding up in Canada where he fell in with the wrong crowd a had a run in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Maybe it was a bad upbringing. Yogi’s cousin was even accused of a carjacking in Colorado, escaped to Montana whereupon he conducted a one bear crime spree, and after the law got close, he was arrested trying to catch a flight in Missoula!

Here – Yogi stops by for his favorite snack -Pizza, and gets an earful from the patrons!

Wisconsin – The World

You probably won’t hear about this on Faux News… But the folks in Egypt, as well as a number of other countries are paying a close eye on the events in Wisconsin.

From Cairo to Madison, some pizza

Someone in Egypt has been paying attention to what’s happening in Madison and wanted to send a message of solidarity from across the globe — so they ordered a pizza.

It might seem like a small gesture, but it’s overwhelming to the staff at Ian’s on State Street — a campus staple mere blocks from the Capitol — where in the last few days, they’ve fielded calls from concerned citizens of 12 countries, and 38 out of 50 states looking to donate money to provide free pizza to the Wisconsinites who have congregated here.

On Saturday alone, Ian’s gave away 1,057 free slices in their store and delivered more than 300 pizzas to the Capitol itself.

By 2 p.m. local time Sunday, they’d given away 351 slices and sent countless other full pies to the rotunda, where protesters have been gathering since well before noon. As a few locals stood waiting for their slices, an Ian’s staffer went to the chalkboard hanging behind the register and wrote, “Turkey” in big block letters and co-workers expressed a sense of disbelief.

“I don’t think we started it,” said Ryan O’Connor, a sophomore at a local technical school who works the register at Ian’s. “We made a post to our Facebook page because of the volume of calls we already had been getting unprompted.”

O’Connor said Ian’s got its first call Thursday when a mother of a University of Wisconsin student called and offered to donate $200 to help feed the people her daughter told her had flooded the Capitol. Since then, the outpouring of money from all over the world has put the pizza-makers into overdrive.

The blackboard behind the counter lists the “countries donating” as “Korea, Finland, Egypt, Denmark, Australia, US, Canada, Germany, China, London, Netherlands, Turkey” and has the abbreviations for all 50 states listed below, with donating states circled. As of Sunday afternoon, 38 states had been marked as contributors.
