Your Police Force on KKKrack

And you have to wonder why they fired this moron? And those sheets he is wearing have nothing to do with racism!

Louisiana Police Officer Is Upset That He Was Fired for Attending KKK Rally

A Lake Arthur, Louisiana, police officer named Raymond Mott is upset that he was fired for attending a Ku Klux Klan rally and plans to sue over his dismissal, area ABC affiliate KATC reports. Mott was photographed at a rally in North Carolina in 2014 wearing Klan insignia and holding his left hand up in a Klan salute:

“The picture speaks for itself,” said Mott. “I’m standing at a rally against illegal immigration. There’s not much to be said about the picture. I’ve never denied it was me.”

From the Southern Poverty Law Center’s writeup on a piece in the local Jennings Daily News that’s paywalled:

“I have never even had a negative write-up in my file since my start in law enforcement as a reserve in 2006,” Mott told the Jennings newspaper.  “I am not going to quit my job because I made a decision to support a cause I thought was right at the time – illegal immigration not racism,” he added.

Conservatives and False Equivalencies -Bobbity Jundal Goes Splat…Again

Bobby Jindal years ago as a Congressman was a pretty good politician. Met him after Katrina as part of the cleanup and recovery effort. He helped cut through the Bush Administration incompetence and racism, and helped forge a bipartisan coalition to help his State, Louisiana. So it really wasn’t a surprise to see him elected as Governor of the State, despite his disastrous Republican reply to the State of the Union. Somewhere along the way Jindal lost it, and became an idealogue. He has been a disaster for the school system in Louisiana, which already ranked as one of the nation’s worst – he has utterly cratered the State Budget with superfluous tax giveaways putting the State more than $2 billion, and bleeding over $500 million a year…And he has jumped, both feet in – to the culture wars.

He is now regarded by many as a failure as Governor, an ineffective speaker, and a bobblehead who continuously says stupid things that alienate people.

Bobbity is so bad, his polling against the rest of the Republican Clown Bus vying for the nomination to run for President…Is at 0%.

So now he jumps into the False Equivalency game in a desperate attempt to gain even a smidgen of relevancy.

The False Equivalency game is one played almost daily in conservative press and on Faux News. You’ve heard it, I am sure…

That somehow the murder of a white woman in San Francisco by an illegal immigrant likely for financial gain…

Is the same as Charleston, where a State Congressman and Minister, and 7 others were murdered in their Church the name of starting a “race war” by a white supremacist.

That black on black murder is somehow more of an issue than the murder of unarmed black youth by Police, who are supposedly there to protect them and maintain the law.

That the killing of a US Ambassador in Benghazi under Obama somehow is indicative of a failure of the Administration, and is far worse than the killing of 17 Americans in the Bombing of an Embassy In Lebanon in 1983, and the bombing of a Marine Barracks which killed 242 Marines under Reagan… Not to mention over 20 similar attacks against American Diplomats and Trade Representatives under the Bushit.

Bobby Jindal should just shut up: His simple-minded, dishonest Chattanooga comments make things worse

Bobbity’s Duck Dynasty Base

Among the first GOP candidates to comment on the tragic shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee, was Bobby Jindal. His response was every bit as trite and empty as you’d expect it to be. In an exclusive interview with, Jindal said:

“It’s time for the White House to wake up and tell the truth…and the truth is that Radical Islam is at war with us, and we must start by being honest about that. There have been many bad things that have happened under President Obama. One that stands out to me was the horrible shooting at Ft. Hood…which was clearly an act of terrorism by a Radical Islamist. Yet the White House labeled that horrible act as ‘workplace violence.’ This is grotesque. You cannot defeat evil until you admit that it exists.”

This statement is remarkably simpleminded and dishonest. In what sense has the White House failed to “tell the truth” about terrorism? Like so many Republicans, Jindal is obsessed with the superficial; he’s intentionally oblivious to what Obama has actually done. Obama has made it fairly clear that we’re at war with terrorists, especially Islamic terrorists. He’s been far more effective, in fact, than the previous Republican administration at finding and killing said terrorists (remember bin Laden?).

What’s dishonest about Jindal’s statement is the implication that what happened in Chattanooga is a policy failure on the part of Obama. That’s not at all the case. A man decided to sacrifice his life in order to kill other people. Just as the officer at Fort Hood decided, on his own, to kill innocent people. The truth is that there’s no real defense against that. Life in a free society involves certain risks. All the armies in the world can’t stop a lone gunman before he fires the first shot. This notion that if we dropped more bombs abroad or tightened immigration standards, we’d somehow be immune from attacks of this kind is a Republican fantasy, one no thinking person believes.

When something like this happens, our response should be simple: deal with it and carry on. Terrorism is a tactic — it’s not defeatable. The best we can do is limit the conditions that breed terrorists while fighting them when and where we must, which is what Obama has done since taking office. Exaggerating every isolated attack into an apocalyptic threat plays perfectly into the enemy’s narrative. Yet that’s exactly what Jindal does. Indeed, he warned that yesterday’s shooting (again, perpetrated by one man) is a reminder that we’re being colonized by Muslims.

“What’s not acceptable is people that want to come and conquer us. That’s not immigration, by the way, that’s colonization,” Jindal said. This is preposterously stupid on every level. Yes, we’re in a real war. Yes, there are Muslim extremists that want to kill us. And yes, we have to take that seriously. But America isn’t being colonized. Suggesting otherwise is dangerous and needlessly alarmist.

The worst thing we can do, the thing Republicans often do, is blame a single person or party for a terrible and ultimately unavoidable attack. Republicans understand this when it’s the other way around. The logic Jindal uses to pin this attack on Obama applies equally to Bush during 9/11. Indeed, by any measure, the Bush administration was infinitely more responsible for that incident, as it involved dozens of people and months of preparation to which they remained blind. Can you imagine the GOP’s response if a Democratic candidate for president said, the day after 9/11, that it was Bush’s fault, that 3,000 people died because he failed to take terrorism seriously? True or not, they’d have considered that treasonous, at the very least.

Bobbity long ago crossed over into The Donald’s territory… And should be treated a Comedy (as the Donald is by a growing number of News sources) or Political Theater instead of any serious candidate.

Daring Rescue By Family in Louisiana Kidnapping

In one of those rare instances where things actually work out, members of a kidnapped woman’s family were able to save her life, after efforts by the police failed.

This one also goes under “benefits of a big family”, as over 20 of Bethany Arceneaux’s relatives joined in the search to find her after she disappeared, and kept looking after Police had given up for the day.

A bloodied and battered Bethany Arceneaux is carried from the car to the hospital by her cousin Marceus Arceneaux. Police have withheld the name of the Cousin who rescued her from her kidnapper apparently seconds before he killed her.

Kidnapped woman rescued by cousin in Louisiana, police said

A woman who had been kidnapped two days earlier was found Friday with multiple stab wounds inside an abandoned house in Louisiana — and freed by family members in a daring operation, police said.

The man who allegedly held her hostage for 30 hours in a vacant home in Duson, La., was shot and killed by the woman’s cousin as he rescued her, police said.

Authorities of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office had been searching for Bethany Arceneaux, 29, since late Wednesday, after her car was found abandoned outside her child’s day care center, Capt. Kip Judice told NBC News.

Judice said police believed Scott Thomas, 29, the father of Arceneaux’s son, was the abductor. The two had domestic troubles, and Arceneaux had a restraining order against Thomas, Judice added.

The woman’s family decided to look for Arceneaux themselves. On Friday, about 20 relatives formed a search party and began to search on foot, Judice said.

Arceneaux’s cousin heard cries coming from an abandoned home in a sugar field about 10 miles from where the woman was last seen.

Armed with a gun, the man forced his way into the home. As the cousin made his way through the house, Thomas allegedly stabbed Arceneaux several times. The cousin then fired several shots at Thomas and then fled with Arceneaux, Judice said.

The woman confirmed to authorities that her cousin shot Thomas as Thomas was stabbing her.

Arceneaux is undergoing treatment at the Lafayette General Medical Center and is in good condition, Judice said.

Police found Thomas dead in the vacant home. He had allegedly held Arceneaux at knifepoint for 30 hours before she was rescued, Judice added.

Arceneaux’s cousin is not in police custody and has not been charged with a crime. He is cooperating with authorities, Judice said.

Under Louisiana law, a justifiable homicide statute allows an individual to defend himself as well as others he feels are in danger, which includes great bodily harm or death, police said.

Motive Emerges in Pastor Shooting

A motive has emerged as the cause of the Pastor hooting in Lake Charles, Louisiana… Turns out the Reverend and the shooter’s (Woodrow Cary) wife had been in some sort of sexual relationship. It is unclear at this time whether that relationship was voluntary on her part.

Woodrow Cary, the accused shooter of Pastor Ronald J Harris

Sexual relationship between pastor, gunman’s wife being investigated as motive for shooting

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso addressed the media today regarding the case of a pastor who was shot and killed in front of his congregation.

“This is a shooting that took place in front of 60 some people, so it’s going to take time to come to a conclusion,” he said. “It will not just take days but several weeks to get to the truth and the bottom of this.”

Sheriff Mancuso explained that the high-profile and public nature of this crime has led to a number of rumors and interest from the media. He also noted that those rumors prompted a phone call from the FBI.

“There’s a lot of speculation as to what took place and the motive in this case and I’m going to tell you that we are going to proceed with great caution in this investigation,” he said. “You have so many rumors going on that it sometimes clouds the water for our investigation.”

The incident took place on Friday, Sept. 27 at the Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center. Woodrow Karey, Jr., 53, walked into the church and shot Pastor Ronald J. Harris, Sr., twice. He then fled the scene and called law enforcement shortly thereafter.

“It’s my understanding that they were great friends at some point,” Sheriff Mancuso explained. “I’m sure we’re going to get responses from both sides saying that they are great people.”

The possible motive investigators are currently working to confirm is that Pastor Harris was involved in some sort of sexual relationship with Karey’s wife.

“[A week before the actual shooting, Karey] stated that he had received some inappropriate images from his wife to Pastor Harris,” Sheriff Mancuso said. “Then, evidently, he confronted his wife and she filed a rape charge against Pastor Harris on Wednesday, September 25.”

Deputies were unable to interview Pastor Harris regarding the rape allegation before he was shot and killed on Friday.

“That’s where we are in this investigation,” he said. “At this time the charges against Mr. Karey are appropriate based on the information we have.”

Karey is being held in the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center for Second-Degree Murder. His bond was set at $1 million.

De-Evolution and the Loch Ness Monster in Lousiana

This one is strange – even for the conservative types deep in the Red Zone. Quite obviously it proves Darwin was wrong in that his theory was only half advanced. Not only is there evolution…There is de-evolution as in the case of these nutjobs.

Now Bobby Jindal has been listed in a number of periodicals as the latest, greatest nonwhite hope for the Republican Party. It has been a tradition in the Republican Party since Bush 1, that the VP slot was reserved for someone of no great intellectual wattage. Except in the Bush II Presidency where that was reversed. Bobbity is light years ahead of the Sno’ Ho, but the Swamp Heaux has his own set of problems – one being the historic meltdown when appointed by his party as their spokesman to give the counter-State of the Union Speech on behalf of the Reprobates. Now Bobbity has a second problem – convincing the rest of America that if by some stroke of ill wind he became President – the next move wouldn’t be converting your child’s school to a Religious Whakademia.

The Loch Ness monster: Used as evidence that evolution is myth

Now I’ve already discussed some of the oddities of these Charter Schools being set up in Louisiana , such as the disbelief in Boolean Math (If God had meant you to only count to 2, he would have given you only two fingers instead of two hands!), and Geometry and Trigonometry as the “Devil’s Workshop”….

But some of the cults have even reached for evidence that the fictitious Loch Ness Monster – is a “dinosaur” – disproving Evolution.

Since none of the stories about Nessy I’ve heard actually include her actually eating anyone – we have to assume that the tourism business in Scotland is about to take a leap, as the newly programmed children of Louisiana come to “swim with Nessy” in the Fjord during summer vacation. Of course Godzilla is also ample evidence of the existence of dinosaurs on earth. Jurassic Park…Indeed…

Loch Ness monster cited by US schools as evidence that evolution is myth

THOUSANDS of American school pupils are to be taught that the Loch Ness monster is real – in an attempt by religious teachers to disprove Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution.

Pupils attending privately-run Christian schools in the southern state of Louisiana will learn from textbooks next year, which claim Scotland’s most famous mythological beast is a living creature.

The “Frilled Shark” a true prehistoric creature found only in the deep ocean

Thousands of children are to receive publicly-funded vouchers enabling them to attend the schools – which follow a strict fundamentalist curriculum.

The Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) programme teaches controversial religious beliefs, aimed at disproving evolution and proving creationism.

Youngsters will be told that if it can be proved that dinosaurs walked the earth at the same time as man, then Darwinism is fatally flawed.

Critics have slammed the content of the religious course books, labelling them “bizarre” and accusing them of promoting radical religious and political ideas.

One ACE textbook called Biology 1099, Accelerated Christian Education Inc reads: “Are dinosaurs alive today? Scientists are becoming more convinced of their existence.

“Have you heard of the Loch Ness Monster in Scotland? ‘Nessie’ for short has been recorded on sonar from a small submarine, described by eyewitnesses, and photographed by others. Nessie appears to be a plesiosaur.” Read the rest of this entry »

Re-Education – Louisiana Style

During the Communist era and Russia and China, and again during the Pol Pot Dictatorship in Cambodia – millions of people were sent for re-education or re-programming. Communism may be dead in most of the world – but the Republicans in Louisiana have fully embraced reprogramming as a way to ensure future loyal followers. This isn’t dissimilar to the Hitler Youth, and Stalin’s education of children to be good communist robots…

“Christian math”? Does that mean that numbers past 10 aren’t taught – because if God had wanted us to count past 10…

He would have provided us with more fingers? Set Theory is “un-godly”? You don’t need no Geometry and Trig – much less the Calculus to be properly “learned”!

Which gets to the point of whether the State Tests are also going to be dumbed down enough so these modern Luddite Youth can pass an exam which means anything to anyone outside of Louisiana.

Louisiana’s bold bid to privatize schools

Louisiana is embarking on the nation’s boldest experiment in privatizing public education, with the state preparing to shift tens of millions in tax dollars out of the public schools to pay private industry, businesses owners and church pastors to educate children.

Starting this fall, thousands of poor and middle-class kids will getvouchers covering the full cost of tuition at more than 120 private schools across Louisiana, including small, Bible-based church schools.

The following year, students of any income will be eligible for mini-vouchers that they can use to pay a range of private-sector vendors for classes and apprenticeships not offered in traditional public schools. The money can go to industry trade groups, businesses, online schools and tutors, among others.

Every time a student receives a voucher of either type, his localpublic school will lose a chunk of state funding.

“We are changing the way we deliver education,” said Governor Bobby Jindal, a Republican who muscled the plan through the legislature this spring over fierce objections from Democrats and teachers unions. “We are letting parents decide what’s best for their children, not government.”

The concept of opening public schools to competition from the private sector has been widely promoted in recent years by well-funded education reform groups.

Of the plans so far put forward, Louisiana’s plan is by far the broadest. This month, eligible families, including those with incomes nearing $60,000 a year, are submitting applications for vouchers to state-approved private schools.

That list includes some of the most prestigious schools in the state, which offer a rich menu of advanced placement courses, college-style seminars and lush grounds. The top schools, however, have just a handful of slots open. The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, for instance, has said it will accept just four voucher students, all kindergartners. As elsewhere, they will be picked in a lottery.

Far more openings are available at smaller, less prestigious religious schools, including some that are just a few years old and others that have struggled to attract tuition-paying students.

The school willing to accept the most voucher students — 314 — is New Living Word in Ruston, which has a top-ranked basketball team but no library. Students spend most of the day watching TVs in bare-bones classrooms. Each lesson consists of an instructional DVD that intersperses Biblical verses with subjects such chemistry or composition.

The Upperroom Bible Church Academy in New Orleans, a bunker-like building with no windows or playground, also has plenty of slots open. It seeks to bring in 214 voucher students, worth up to $1.8 million in state funding.

At Eternity Christian Academy in Westlake, pastor-turned-principal Marie Carrier hopes to secure extra space to enroll 135 voucher students, though she now has room for just a few dozen. Her first- through eighth-grade students sit in cubicles for much of the day and move at their own pace through Christian workbooks, such as a beginning science text that explains “what God made” on each of the six days of creation. They are not exposed to the theory of evolution.

“We try to stay away from all those things that might confuse our children,” Carrier said.

Other schools approved for state-funded vouchers use social studies texts warning that liberals threaten global prosperity; Bible-based math books that don’t cover modern concepts such as set theory; and biology texts built around refuting evolution. Read the rest of this entry »

Another Civil Rights Era Murder Solved?

This one apparently solved by the work of a local newspaper. Morris may have been murdered by the KKK for nothing other than the perspicacity of being a black man operating a successful business with both black and white customers.

Frank Morris (in the apron and visor) is seen standing in front of his shoe shop in the 1950s. He was killed when his shoe shop burned down in Ferriday, La., in 1964.

Frank Morris was in the Apron and visor in the middle of the group standing in front of his store

Paper names ex-Klansman in civil rights murder

Early on the morning of December 10, 1964, Frank Morris ran out of his shoe store, his clothes and skin on fire.

People who saw him in the hospital afterward said the African-American businessman was so badly burned they didn’t recognize him.

“Only the bottom of his feet weren’t burned. He was horrible to look at,” said the Rev. Robert Lee Jr., now 96.

Morris survived for four days before dying — long enough to tell the FBI that two men had broken into his store while he slept, smashed windows, doused the place in gasoline and told him: “Get back in there, nigger.”

Locals in Ferriday, the small Louisiana town where Morris lived and died, remember him as having both white and black customers, which was rare for black businesses in the segregated South in the days before civil rights. He would come out of his store onto the sidewalk so white female customers wouldn’t have to go inside alone.

No one has ever been charged with killing him. But Wednesday, more than 46 years after his death at age 51, a local newspaper has named two men it believes were part of a Ku Klux Klan “wrecking crew” that torched his store and murdered him.

One, Arthur Spencer, is still alive. The second, O.C. “Coonie” Poissot, died in 1992.

The Concordia Sentinel, based in Ferriday, reports Spencer’s son and the brother of his ex-wife both say Spencer told them he was involved in the killing.

Spencer’s ex-wife, Brenda Rhodes, says Poissot told her that he and Spencer were on the wrecking crew that burned Morris’s store.

“It came at a time of great lawlessness in this parish, when the Klan was in control of this parish — or if not in control, a great influence,” said Sentinel editor Stanley Nelson, using the Louisiana term for county.

The newspaper’s sources all indicated that the Klan wrecking crew didn’t necessarily expect Morris to be in the store when they burned it.

Spencer’s former brother-in-law, Bill Frasier, said he’d once asked Spencer if he ever killed anyone.

“We did accidentally one time,” Spencer said, according to Frasier.

Sentinel editor Nelson said many racially motivated killings in that era were done by people who might not have planned to commit murder — but should have known what they were doing.

“Almost all of the people that were killed in those days, no one set out to kill,” he said. Some beatings got too violent, for example, he said.

But, he added, “When you go to burn a building, you run the risk that a person is going to be there.” Read the rest of this entry »
