Fighting Back – LAPD Refuses to Support Trump Immigration Gestapo

Glad at least on Police Department had the morality and balls to stand up against the Chumph’s illegitimate actions.

LAPD Takes A Stand Against Trump Immigration Enforcement

“That is not our job.”

One of the nation’s largest police forces isn’t supporting Donald Trump’s  deportation plans.

Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said Monday that the force would not change its stance on immigration enforcement, the Los Angeles Times reported. The move is an apparent act of defiance against the president-elect’s promise to deport or imprison up to 3 million undocumented immigrants after his inauguration.

Since 1979, the LAPD has barred officers from contacting people solely to investigate whether they are in the country legally, the LA Times noted. During Beck’s tenure, the department also stopped bringing suspects in minor crimes to federal authorities.

“I don’t intend on doing anything different,” Beck told the newspaper. “We are not going to engage in law enforcement activities solely based on somebody’s immigration status. We are not going to work in conjunction with Homeland Security on deportation efforts. That is not our job, nor will I make it our job.”

The Denver Police Department also weighed in on the matter Monday, saying it would not “participate” in Trump’s efforts, the Denver Channel reported.

“Immigration enforcement is handled at the federal level, not by local law enforcement,” Denver Police spokesman Doug Schepman said in a statement. “The Denver Police Department has not participated in those enforcement efforts in the past and will not be involved in the future.”

In a “60 Minutes” interview that aired Sunday, Trump vowed to immediately deportwhat he estimated to be millions of immigrants with a criminal record. He previously has said that anyone coming to the country illegally would have to leave.

KCAL 9 pointed out in the news video above that Trump has also threatened so-called “sanctuary cities” ― those perceived as not cooperating with federal deportation efforts ― with cuts in federal funding.

LA Wannabe Gay Pride Shooter a Trumpazoid

This one fits the profile of a Domestic Terrorist…Young, white, right wing…Trumpazoid gun nut.

Indiana gun nut who planned to attack Los Angeles LGBT pride has a history of criminal violence

James Wesley Howell (Photo: Santa Monica PD)

The man arrested en route to the Los Angeles LGBT Pride festival with weapons, James Wesley Howell, of Indiana, has a criminal past involving guns.

A June, 2015 video shows Howell shooting a rapid firing weapon into the ground saying it was “fun as hell.”

Howell was arrested Sunday after telling police officers he was en route to L.A. Pride where he “wanted to harm” the event. He was heavily armed with what police called a “small arsenal” in his car.

TMZ also reported that Howell was arrested within the last year after pointing a gun in a threatening manner at a neighbor during an argument. He agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of “intimidation” and the firearm charge was dropped. He’s still serving his one-year probation for that crime.

He gave the Louisville Metro Police Department a one-star review two months ago, saying, “They are slow AF so they only got one finger as I’m shifting gears.”

Howell’s Facebook account lists him as a former security guard at Universal Protection Services in Clarksville, Indiana. He also claimed to work at Geek Squad City in a position he labeled CIA.

Unlike the Orlando, Florida shooter, Howell is a young, white, midwestern man with a history of right-wing ideology, if his social media is any indication. He posted both anti-Hillary Clinton and anti-Barack Obama things on his social media as well as support for marjuana legalization. His last post on Facebook shows a meme comparing the Democratic presidential candidate to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Attack on Gay Pride Parade in LA Prevented

It appears that there was another attack planned on a Gay Pride Parade in LA. The motivation of the second potential terrorist have not been announced. Evidence is increasingly pointing to Islamic Radicalization and a history of at least domestic violence being the motive of the Orlando shooter, however Police are not ruling out a Hate Crime at this point.

L.A. mayor: Attack on Gay Pride Parade thwarted

Los Angeles Mayer Eric Garcetti said Sunday that a heavily armed man supposedly en route to the city’s Gay Pride Parade has been arrested.

The report, according to the Associated Press, comes hours after an act of terrorism at a nightclub in Orlando, Fla., where 50 have been killed and dozens more have been hospitalized. The shooter, Omar Mateen, entered the Pulse night club in Orlando around 2 a.m. on Sunday, and began firing into the crowded venue.

The man who was arrested told police he was in the West Hollywood area for the pride parade. Authorities said there is no known connection between the incidents in California and Florida.

The parade went on as planned with heightened security.

The man also told police he was looking for a friend. In the man’s car, Santa Monica police found three rifles, ammunition, and tannerite, which can be used to make a pipe bomb, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Those who identify with or support the LGBT community celebrate June as pride month, and various events are planned throughout June in major cities across the country.

Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser mentioned the district’s pride celebrations in her statement condemning Sunday’s mass shooting.

“We will not be deterred by hate as we gather to celebrate love,” she said in a statement.

KKK Lawyer Makes Death Threat at Los Angeles City Council Meeting

Another case of Trumpazoid whack jobs…

Los Angeles lawyer who wears KKK hoods to city meetings threatens to lynch black councilman

A white Encino lawyer known for showing up at Los Angeles City government meetings in a Ku Klux Klan hood is facing criminal charges for threatening a black Los Angeles City Councilman, ABC7 reports.

An attorney from the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Encino submitted a speaker card on Wednesday night directed at Council president Herb Wesson, who is African-American, covered with racist language and imagery.

Police arrested Wayne Spindler for a felony count of making criminal threats and using hate speech. The 46-year-old is free after posting $75,000 bail and set to appear in court on June 10.

Spindler is no stranger to L.A. City Hall, and Wesson told reporters he no longer feels safe while on the premises, telling KTLA he has become so concerned that he and his staff don’t walk through City Hall alone.

On the speaker card, Spindler calls himself “Wayne from Encino.” In what appears to be bright blue marker, he drew a burning cross, a man hanging from a tree and a crude picture of a KKK member holding a noose and a sign that reads “Herb = N***er.”

a

The card was submitted to the May 11 meeting of the Rules, Elections, Intergovernmental Relations and Neighborhoods Committee, of which Wesson is chair. Wesson is also the first African-American City Council president.

The California State Bar lists Spindler as a currently-licensed attorney with no record of professional discipline.

“Criticism comes with the job and I can usually blow it off as part of the job,” Wesson told the Los Angeles Sentinel. “But the often harassing and threatening comments made by Mr. Spindler have become increasingly worse over time. It has risen to the point that I have serious concerns about my safety, my family’s safety, my staff’s safety and the safety of my colleagues on the city council.”

The Sentinel reports Spindler has directed racist attacks at other black City Council members, and uses swear words during his public comments.

“When there are kids attending the Council meeting, he will use the F word every-other-word. He gets some sick joy out of traumatizing kids,” Councilwoman Nury Martinez told the Sentinel. “On a day when the Council recognized Denim Day to fight rape, Mr. Spindler made disgusting and sexist language that promotes rape culture. When Mr. Spindler calls me and other women ‘cunt’ or ‘bitch,’ he is not advancing constructive dialogue. He is abusive and sexist. His only goal seems to be to disrupt meetings and offend everyone in the room.”

Grim Sleeper Serial Killer, Convicted

Black serial killers are rarer than white. About 90% of serial killers in the US are white males. It is unclear whether that is because black killers tend to kill fellow blacks, and thus go unnoticed by the police…Or if there are sociological reasons. In this case, the killer, Lonnie Franklin probably killed dozens more than he was convicted for.

Lonnie David Franklin Jr. Guilty For All 10 ‘Grim Sleeper’ Killings Of Women

Lonnie David Franklin Jr. killed nine women and a teen girl in a Los Angeles crime spree dating back 30 years.

A former sanitation worker accused of being the “GrimSleeper“ serial killer was found guilty of murder on Thursday for the slayings of nine women and a teenage girl in a Los Angeles crime spree dating back 30 years.

The Superior Court jury reached its verdict on all 10 counts of murder against the defendant, Lonnie David Franklin Jr., 63, after deliberating just over a day, capping a trial that stretched over more than 11 weeks.

Franklin, who could face the death penalty, also was convicted of attempted murder for an attack on an 11th victim who survived being shot, raped, pushed out of a car and left for dead in 1988.

Judge Kathleen Kennedy instructed jurors to return to the courtroom on May 12 for the start of the trial’s penalty phase.

Franklin, whose attorney sought to raise questions about DNA evidence presented during the trial, was convicted of fatally shooting or strangling seven victims between August 1985 and September 1988, and three others between March 2002 and January 2007.

The gap of more than 13 years between the two spates of murders earned the killer the “GrimSleeper“ moniker. Since his March 2011 indictment, police said they had gathered evidence linking Franklin to at least six more slayings, some of which took place during the previously presumed lapse in killings.

Franklin, who sat impassively in court as the verdicts were read on Thursday, has been in custody since his arrest in July 2010.

Ain’t Nothing Wrong With The Cops in LA Either…

What do you think the chances are that if you randomly stopped 1500 people on the streets of a major city that not one of them would be a drug user, have or have had an traffic ticket or outstanding warrant for a traffic ticket, or a DWI?

When dealing with Cops being guilty of anything, miracles happen every day. Just like in Chicago…The Cops in LA can do no wrong.

LAPD found no bias in all 1,356 complaints filed against officers

The Los Angeles Police Department did not uphold any of the 1,356 allegations of biased policing by officers that the agency investigated in recent years, according to a report by the Police Commission’s watchdog.

The numbers, which covered 2012 to 2014, prompted the president of the Police Commission to call Tuesday for a “deep-dive briefing” from the LAPD on how the investigations are conducted.

“We need to take a look at it,” said the panel’s president, Matt Johnson.

In an interview, Johnson said claims of biased policing — police parlance for racial profiling — were among the most serious accusations that could be levied against the LAPD.

“I don’t think anybody believes that there are actually no incidents of biased policing,” Johnson said. “The problem is we don’t have an effective way of really adjudicating the issue.”

The report from Inspector General Alex Bustamante tallied the number of investigations that were completed by the LAPD during the three-year window.

Commissioner Robert Saltzman echoed Johnson’s remarks, calling the lack of substantiated allegations “quite troubling and disappointing.”

“While no doubt the vast majority of LAPD officers do not engage in biased policing, it strains credibility to suggest that … there were zero instances of biased policing,” he told The Times. “It should not be surprising that there is diminished trust in the LAPD given these results.”

Like other police agencies, the LAPD has long wrestled with allegations of biased policing. Such accusations are difficult to prove, as they hinge on what an officer is thinking when he or she stops someone.

Yet the perception that some officers choose to stop people based on race or ethnicity can deepen the distrust between police and residents and has become a focal point in the ongoing national debate about police and race relations.

Phillip Atiba Goff, president and cofounder of the Center for Policing Equity at UCLA, said the LAPD wasn’t the only law enforcement agency that struggles to prove allegations of biased policing. Supporting such claims, he said, requires data to show a pattern of behavior.

“It’s excruciatingly difficult,” he said. “But it’s a failure of the way that we come to understand how we should be tracking racial bias — how we can and should be paying attention to it.”

Kathleen Kim, another commissioner, told The Times that because it was so difficult to prove accusations of racial profiling, she’d like to find a way to reduce the number of complaints to “diminish feelings of racial profiling in the community in a really meaningful way.”

“It says something about persistent racial tensions between the community and the police,” Kim said. “And that’s something we have to pay attention to.”

LAPD Cmdr. Stuart Maislin, who heads the department’s internal affairs division, told the commissioners that improving relationships with residents was a “high priority” for the LAPD. He pointed to the department’s new mediation program, designed to bring officers and civilians together in a face-to-face meeting to resolve complaints.

“If their perception is one of distrust with the community, perhaps when we build better relationships with the community they’ll then believe that we will look at things better,” he said.

Maislin noted that the LAPD concluded an officer had engaged in biased policing a few years ago and sent that officer to a disciplinary hearing to be fired. However, he said, the board of rights panel found the officer not guilty of the biased policing allegations and fired him on a different charge.

Commissioners said they hoped the continuing rollout of body cameras to LAPD officers would provide more evidence in investigations of biased policing and clarify encounters that often become a “he said, she said” dispute.

“At the end of the day, I wish it was zero for zero. I wish there were no complaints,” Commissioner Steve Soboroff told The Times. “But every complaint has to be taken seriously.”
