When Ketchup…Isn’t. Heinz only has 6% Tomato Paste…

French fries, a guilty pleasure enjoyed infrequently for obvious weight reasons, at least in the BTx3 world are best enjoyed with a dollop of Ketchup on top…

So… What happens when Ketchup…Isn’t Ketchup? Like what is the other 94% of “stuff” in that Heinz bottle?

Not the real deal?

Israel’s Ruling That Heinz Isn’t Ketchup Opens Up Serious Questions

Israel’s Health Ministry isn’t too keen on calling “Heinz” ketchup. In fact, thanks to the low tomato paste content, they’re rejecting the brand as the tomato condiment altogether.

According to Time, the ministry says that the product does not contain enough tomato to be worthy of the name ketchup. They ask for a 10 percent minimum.

This leads to the question, how much tomatoes are actually in our everyday ketchup?

We never knew Heinz contained so little, yet here we are with less than 10 percent of actual tomato paste.

Competitor Osem, a food manufacturer, protested about the amount of actual tomato that exists in a bottle of Heinz. While English labels may still call it “ketchup” the brand must be labeled as “tomato seasoning” in Hebrew text.

An importer of the ketchup is working with the ministry to change the 10 percent tomato requirement to 6 percent. Until then, Israeli consumers will be enjoying tomato seasoning with their food.

So currently a 10 percent minimum of tomato paste is required for ketchup to be called ketchup. If it gets any lower, are we still eating ketchup? Israel’s definitely right in the fact that we may very well be drowning our foods in corn syrup, vinegar and sugar that happens to be red.

There Is Justice For the Rich And Powerful In One Last Place In the World!

The United States is now ranked on 22nd out of 168 Countries in having the least corruption. One of the reasons is the rich and powerful in the United States very seldom go to jail for their crimes, or receive hand slaps.

Nice to see in Israel, despite there being little justice for Arabs living in the country…

There is still justice for the high and mighty.

(Ignore the dumb arsed Cisco Commercial! From my view they are part of the problem here in the US.)

Israel And Child Deportation

Now that the strategy of importing foreign workers to drive Palestinians out has worked, Israel wants to drive out the replacements…

"Don't Want Your Kind Livin' Here"

“Jewish character of the state of Israel”? Over here we call it “Anchor babies” and “English Only”…

Israel to deport hundreds of migrant workers’ children

Israel moved Sunday to deport the offspring of hundreds of migrant workers, mostly small children who were born in Israel, speak Hebrew and have never seen their parents’ native countries.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the new policy was intended to stem a flood of illegal immigrants, whose children receive state-funded education and healthcare benefits, and to defend Israel’s Jewish identity.

“On the one hand, this problem is a humanitarian problem,” Netanyahu said during a meeting Sunday of the Cabinet, which had debated the move for nearly a year. “We all feel and understand the hearts of children. But on the other hand, there are Zionist considerations and ensuring the Jewish character of the state of Israel. Read the rest of this entry »

Israel Lining Up Hit on Iran

Looks like things are getting ready to get very serious with Iran. Iran has missiles capable of reaching Israel, albeit with conventional warheads (at least that’s what most military analysts think). Not sure Iran wants to take on the Saudi Air Force, which is a pretty good one, by flying over Saudi territory though – much less having to tangle with Israel’s.

Saudi Eurofighter Typhoons

This whole nuclear deal is probably is a just nothing more than a play by the Iranian President to stay in power by starting a shooting war against the “great evil” – Israel. If the other countries in the region believe Iran is developing nuclear weapons, then Iran is actually developing them. Their intelligence probably is a lot better than ours. Talk about a country that needs a “regime change”!

Saudis Open Skies for Israeli Hit on Iran

Saudi Arabia is giving Israel a free pass through its airspace for a bombing run on Iranian nuclear sites, reports the Times of London, citing defense sources in the Gulf. The move puts four key sites within range of Israeli bombers, and the Saudis have tested lowering their air defenses to allow the Israelis through. While there’s no love lost between the two, “I know that Saudi Arabia is even more afraid than Israel of an Iranian nuclear capacity,” says one official.

“The Saudis have given their permission for the Israelis to pass over and they will look the other way,” a US defense source tells the Times. “They have already done tests to make sure their own jets aren’t scrambled and no one gets shot down. This has all been done with the agreement of the State Department.”

Speaking of Looney Tune (Ex) Congress People

Here is an interview of Cynthia McKinney, who is apparently on a boat near Cyprus trying to run the Israeli blockade of shipments to Gaza (I haven’t figured out yet how you get a boat to Gaza… but whatever…).

WWWF Bout – Rev. Jeremiah Wright vs. Drugbo

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr.

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr.

The Minister the right wing loves to hate is at it again, with another case of hoof-in-mouth.

HAMPTON, Va. — The Rev. Jeremiah Wright says he does not feel any regrets over his severed relationship with President Barack Obama, a former member of the Chicago church in which Wright was the longtime pastor.

“Regret for what … that the media went back five, seven, 10 years and spent $4,000 buying 20 years worth of sermons to hear what I’ve been preaching for 20 years?

“Regret for preaching like I’ve been preaching for 50 years? Absolutely none,” Wright said in an interview late Tuesday.

Wright also said he hadn’t spoken to his former church member since Obama became president, implying that the White House won’t allow Obama to talk to him. He did not indicate whether he had tried to reach Obama.

Wright is in Hampton, Va., this week attending Hampton University’s 95th Annual Ministers Conference.

Wright said that when he went to the polls, he did not hold any grudge against Obama.

“Of course I voted for him; he’s my son. I’m proud of him,” Wright said. “I’ve got five biological kids. They all make mistakes and bad choices. I haven’t stopped loving any of them.
