Trump Concentration Camps

Here we go sliding into Nazi America.

“Internment Camps”…Concentration Camps.

Pro-Donald Trump spokesman praises Muslim registry, cites Japanese internment camps as ‘precedent’

A spokesman for a pro-Trump Super PAC cited the human rights-abusing Japanese internment camps kept in the U.S. during World War II as “precedent” for the President-elect’s proposed Muslim registry system.

Carl Higbie, a former Navy SEAL and a representative for the Great America PAC, told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly Wednesday that he was in favor of the registry, even though it has been rebuked for being modeled after the highly controversial National Security Entry-Exit Registration System put in place after the 9/11 attacks.

“You don’t care that there’ll be some sort of a slippery slope where Muslims may get lumped into some group, and some aggressive law enforcement actor in the future might abuse that list?” Kelly asked.

“We’ve done it based on race, we’ve done it based on religion, we’ve done it based on region,” Higbie responded. “We’ve done it with Iran back — back a while ago. We did it during World War II with Japanese.”

In December, Trump praised Roosevelt for erecting the controversial camps and argued that his proposed Muslim registry follows the same thought trajectory.

Japanese Americans Push Back Against Republican Jim Crow

One of the ugly episodes in our history was the treatment of Japanese Americans during WWII. America operated concentration camps, where Japanse-American citizens, guilty of nothing but their Japanese ancestry were imprisoned for the duration of WWII. Whole familes were carted off to be locked away…

So it is no surprise Japanese would be sensitive to the virulent calls to racism by Tea Bagged Republicans – this time against another group, Muslims. They have seen this slide show before…

Japanese Americans decry Rep. King’s Muslim hearings as ‘sinister’

During the chaotic days after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Basim Elkarra was passing by an Islamic school in Sacramento when he did a double-take: The windows were covered with thousands of origami paper cranes – peace symbols that had been folded and donated by Japanese Americans.

Amid the anger and suspicions being aimed at Muslims at that time, the show of support “was a powerful symbol that no one will ever forget,” said Elkarra, a Muslim American community leader in California.

It was also the beginning of an unlikely bond between the two groups that has intensified as House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Peter T. King (R-N.Y.)prepares to launch a series of controversial hearings Thursday on radical Islam in the United States.

Spurred by memories of the World War II-era roundup and internment of 110,000 of their own people, Japanese Americans, especially on the West Coast, have been among the most vocal and passionate supporters of embattled Muslims. They’ve rallied public support against hate crimes at mosques, signed on to legal briefs opposing the indefinite detention of Muslims by the government, organized cross-cultural trips to the Manzanar internment camp memorial in California and held “Bridging Communities” workshops in Islamic schools and on college campuses. Tea Bagger Wants to Start Internment Camps For Immigrants

Wow… Just when you though the Tea Bagger set couldn’t get any dumber!

What this woman is referring to is the “Internment Camps” during WWII which locked up American Citizens of Japanese Ancestry…

One of the darker moments of American History.

GOP candidate calls for internment camps for ‘people that snuck into the country.’

Speaking at a rally sponsored by Glenn Beck’s 9/12 Project, GOP state house candidate in Florida, Marg Baker, endorsed building concentration camps for undocumented immigrants:

We can follow what happened back in the 40s or 50s. I was just a little girl in Miami, and they built camps for the people that snuck into the country, because they were illegal. They put them in the camps, and they shipped them back. We can do that.

Beginning to believe that maybe we need to build Asylums again…

Internment Camps – A Good Place for Tea Baggers?

OK – so regular readers of my blog have susssed out that I don’t much care for conservatives… Especially the brand of conservatives who base their conservatism and belief system on racism. Which certainly isn’t every conservative – but it is too damn many of them. And I certainly advocated the trials of members of the Bushit Administration responsible for lying the country into the Iraq War, and should those trials result in conviction for treason – a swift and sure execution by the rope or the gun as prescribed by law.

Prisons - Good Places for Tea Baggers According to RK Byers

But this Opinion piece over at NewsOne caught my eye as being (more than a little) bit over the top.

50 years ago, this is exactly what the ancestors of todays Tea Baggers wanted to do to black folks, for having the temerity to “make trouble” in agitating for their Civil Rights. Indeed I remember wild eyed accounts during the 60’s that the old internment camps used in WWII to incarcerate the Japanese were being spruced up, for a new minority group!

As much as some, currently resident on the right might have wished that to happen – it didn’t.

So I don’t agree with RK on this one. The Tea Baggers have a right to demonstrate, march, holler, and make complete racist asses of themselves here in this US of A. They pick up a gun or a bomb – different story. They use the Public Airwaves to incite insurrection or assassination – they should be prosecuted and thrown in jail like any other terrorist.

But Joe Hummer-six-pack running around in the streets waving his American Flag, and racist signs? Or Joe-Bob Glock running around in the woods trying to pretend he’s 20 again, instead of 50 with a beer belly?

No. That is not America, even in a most cynical view – it is something far far worse.

OPINION: Tea Party Members Should Be Rounded Up & Jailed

Get this straight: if you’re living in America right now, you’re a descendant of a criminal, a kidnapping victim, or a bum—possibly all three.

There are no descendants of royalty in America. Royalty doesn’t leave home.

When the British initially emptied its prisons of it’s Tony Montanas and it’s Jezebels and sent them all floating over here, the situation was looked at as a win-win. Read the rest of this entry »
