On the History of Right Wing Hate Media

Interesting video on how the same folks who funded and promoted JFK’s assassination are funding today’s Tea Party…

This is today –

This is the face of Domestic terrorism. While your average Tea Party member isn’t guilty of anything…

The folks who pay for their movement, fund hate radio and hate TV, and fund this sort of over the top demonization in hopes of raising another Lee Harvey Oswald…

Are guilty of Terrorism.

The Picture Which Says It All…

Obama calls for healing, civility after Tucson tragedy

Gabrielle Giffords’ Husband Walks Up and Hugs President Obama After His Memorial Speech Last Night.

Did anyone else notice that besides Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, there were no prominent Republicans at the event last night? I expected Sandra Day O’Connor and Justice Kennedy because of ties to the region, and felt that made an important point that the Court stands with Americans for justice and the rule of law.

I don’t know if they were dis-invited, felt uncomfortable, or what – but I expected the Speaker of the House, John Boehner to be there as the head of Congress.

That would have been an even stronger message to the haters. I think an opportunity was missed on someone’s part to show some solidarity.

To anyone still believing President Obama is a Muslim…Your belief isn’t based in any reality – it’s based on your bigotry. You ARE the problem.

Those Peace Loving Conservatives and Inciting Violence

Found this list of conservative quotes on radio and TV inciting violent attacks on Democrats and Liberals. This really is nothing more than domestic terrorism.

Here are some more measured and reasonable comments:

Rush Limbaugh: “I tell people don’t kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus – living fossils – so we will never forget what these people stood for.”

Senator Phil Gramm: “We’re going to keep building the party until we’re hunting Democrats with dogs.”

Rep. James Hansen on Bill Clinton: Get rid of the guy. Impreach him, censure him, assassinate him.”

John Derbyshire intimated in the National Review that because Chelsea Clinton had “the taint,” she should “be killed.”

Ann Coulter: “We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too.”

Ann Coulter: “My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building.”

Bill O’Reilly: “ll those clowns over at the liberal radio network, we could incarcerate them immediately. Will you have that done, please? Send over the FBI and just put them in chains.”

Clear Channel radio host Glenn Beck said he was “thinking about killing Michael Moore” and pondered whether “I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it,” before concluding: “No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out — is this wrong?”

Joyce Kaufman: “If ballots don’t work, bullets will.”

Michelle Bachmann: “Be armed and dangerous”

Michael Savage: “Only vigilance and resistance to this baby dictator, Barack Hussein Obama, can prevent the Khmer Rouge from appearing in this country”

Erick Ericksson: “At what point do the people … march down to their state legislator’s house, pull him outside, and beat him to a bloody pulp?”

Dem Congresswoman, 11 Supporters Shot in Arizona

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords

A Democrat Congresswoman in Arizona who has been the target of harassment and threats by right wingers was shot today while holding a meeting with her constituents. Other reports have that at least one person was killed, one of Rep. Giffords’ staff. Included in the injured were a Federal Judge, and local constituents participating in the meeting.

Reports at this time are conflicting as to whether Rep. Giffords was killed.

This comes on the heels of explosive packages being mailed to Maryland Officials and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano bringing up memories of the Anthrax Murderer who mailed his packages just after the last time Republicans took the majority in Congress. That doesn’t say that Republicans have anything to do with it – but it does draw some parallels to the sort of overheated rhetoric we’ve seen from the Tea Baggers and Republicans – and attempted assassinations and murders.

It is unclear whether or not Police have apprehended the assassin in the Giffords case – so it is impossible at this time to determine motive.

Congresswoman Giffords, others shot in Ariz.

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., was shot in the head and an unknown number of others were injured Saturday when an assailant sprayed bullets into an area where the lawmaker was meeting with constituents, congressional officials said.

Officials said one victim died soon after the attack, and others were taken to a nearby hospital. They identified the victim as an aide to the congresswoman.

There were conflicting reports on whether Giffords had died.

The officials said those injured included several of Gifford’s aides who were with her at the time.

The officials who described the events did so on condition of anonymity, saying they were not permitted to comment publicly.

FBI officials and local law enforcement were investigating the attack, which took place while Giffords was greeting constituents outside a Safeway grocery store.

Giffords, who was re-elected to her third term in November, was hosting her first “Congress on Your Corner” event in northwest Tucson, NPR reported.

Giffords, 40, is married to U.S. astronaut Mark Kelly. She took office in January 2007, emphasizing issues such as immigration reform, embryonic stem-cell research, alternative energy sources and a higher minimum wage. In November, she edged a tea party favorite.

The Arizona politician’s office had been vandalized last March just hours after the House vote overhauling the health care system, The New York Times reported.
