Even Law Firms are Tuning Down the Chumph

The big law firms are aware of the Chumph’s reputation for not paying his bills. They are also aware of the taint that comes with being associated with representing a traitor.

Mob murders and criminals yes…The Chumph…No.

And Ted Olson is a Republican!

Not only won’t any respectable firm represent him…Nobody is going to bail his dumb ass out either!

‘The guy won’t pay and he won’t listen’: Four top law firms refuse to represent Trump in Russia probe

Four top law firms turned down White House requests to represent President Donald Trump in the ongoing Russia probe — and many cited his infamous unwillingness to heed legal advice as a key reason.

Yahoo News’ Mike Isikoff reports that the White House recently reached out to some of America’s top lawyers to see if they would work for Trump on the Russia investigation, including Brendan Sullivan of Williams & Connolly; Ted Olson of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher; Paul Clement and Mark Filip of Kirkland & Ellis; and Robert Giuffra of Sullivan & Cromwell.

However, all of these lawyers turned the White House down, forcing the administration to rely on longtime Trump attorney Marc E. Kasowitz instead.

“The concerns were, ‘The guy won’t pay and he won’t listen,’” said one of Isikoff’s sources, who is described as a “lawyer close to the White House.”

Another attorney tells Isikoff that Trump’s toxic political image at the moment made firms reluctant to be associated with him, as they feared association with Trump would hurt their efforts to recruit top talent to their firms.

“Do I want to be associated with this president and his policies?” the attorney said in explaining the firms’ concerns about working for Trump.

Muslims Take Up Arms Defending Against Armed Hate Group

A group of white right wingers seems to have forgotten that the NOI, AKA the Black Muslims aren’t exactly a group of folks you can wave your guns at and scare.

Armed hate group met at Texas mosque protest by gun-toting worshipers

An anti-Muslim hate group planned an armed protest at an African-American mosque in Texas — but it didn’t go as planned.

The group, the Bureau of American Islamic Relations, or BAIR, has made it a habit in the past to show up at mosques with firearms and intimidate worshipers. In November, armed protesters stalked Muslims in Irving. In December, they again stalked Muslims at the Islamic Association of North Texas.

But on Saturday, the group that makes a show of carrying guns while they surround places of worship was met in-kind at a Nation of Islam mosque in South Dallas, theDallas Morning News reports.

“This is an armed defense maneuver, making sure that our communities are safe and secure from any insurgents coming in,” Krystal Muhammad of the New Black Panther Party told Fox4 last week. Muhammad was armed with a large shotgun. “We won’t allow anybody to come in and try to intimidate our brothers and sisters.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center also lists the New Black Panther Party as a hate group.

On Saturday, the BAIR showed up and was outnumbered by members of black self-defense groups, Fox4 reported.

The Nation of Islam was joined by the Panthers and the Huey P. Newton Gun Club in its defense of the mosque.

“We will not allow them to come to South Dallas with arms and intimidate our people,” Yafeuh Balogun, spokesman for the Huey P. Newton Gun Club, told Fox4 last week. “We’re taking a defensive posture, but we’re not threatening anyone.”

“It’s a people’s victory here in South Dallas today,” he said Saturday after BAIR left without incident.

For the Well Heeled Trump Prepper – Bullet Resistant Cars

With the escalation of violence spurned in good part by Trump’s rhetoric at Trump Rallies, it is not unreasonable to assume things will get worse.

A Trump election could, in my view, will result in something more akin to Syria, than Hooterville, USA. The reason having to do with the Trump campaign’s close association with groups like Militias and the KKK who have long and bloody histories.Trump’s empowering this subgroup has, and will lead to violence in the streets based on these groups racism and ideology.

This is part of a series I will be doing on “Prepping for Disaster”, which if I get enough positive response I will continue.

The video is a sales video from a company in Texas which builds “Bullet Resistant Cars”. Why not “Bulletproof”? Because there are bullets out there, primarily for use by the Military, which can penetrate over 2″ of hardened steel. If you check on YouTube -you will see people testing bullet variants against “bulletproof glass”, with some success. To defend against such requires something that looks more like an Abrams tank, then any passenger vehicle traversing American roads.

What Texas Armoring Corporation does is upgrade an existing vehicle to survive attack by virtually any round legally available to the public, and non-armor piercing rounds available to terrorists around the world. And they are very good at it. Such an upgrade to an existing vehicle costs about $40k, about the same amount of money it takes to upgrade a street vehicle with an uber-power street kit from people like Calloway or Shelby to make your already ridiculously overpowered Chevy or Ford fire-breathing enough to eat your average $400,000 Ferrari’s lunch. The cost for a TAC armored vehicle  is substantially increased weight – adding another 2,000 lbs to the curb weight. Meaning your gas mileage is going into the toilet, and this isn’t going to work for your average 4 cylinder Toyota or Honda, unless you are willing to wait a half hour for the car to accelerate to highway speed. The windows on these also don’t open due to the thick layered “glass”.

Stopping bullets dead

To protect against gun violence, experts are testing the limits of just what “bulletproof” really means. Serena Altschul has been watching them at work:

It may look like your average, everyday auto shop, except for one thing: Extreme quality control.

A YouTube video features Trent Kimball, the very confident — and brave — founder and CEO of Texas Armoring Corporation, a San Antonio-based company that turns ordinary cars into rolling fortresses.

“These aren’t bank trucks that we’re talking about,” said Kimball. “These are passenger vehicles that can stop any type of rifle round or handgun, even up to hand grenades, IEDs, those type of explosives.”

But don’t call these vehicles “bulletproof.”

“No, bulletproof does not exist,” Kimball said. “All our vehicles are ‘bullet-resistant.’ It’s not like the movies; the bullets don’t bounce off. It actually catches the bullet. The glass will crack, it’ll splinter, [but] it’s not gonna penetrate.”

Tearing cars down to their skeletons, Kimball and his crew install custom ballistic steel plates and ballistic glass, and then put it all back together as good as new.

The cost to armor a car goes from $40,000 on up, and Kimball says business is good and getting better:

“Economic stress in the world, the economic downturn, terrorism, that type of world that we live in nowadays is good for business, unfortunately.”

So, who needs these armored vehicles? “Our clientele range from heads of state of foreign countries, all the way down to a soccer mom here in the U.S.”

“Protection against kidnapping, protection against assault from an angry soccer parent?” asked Altschul.

“Outside the U.S., it’s mainly protection against kidnapping for ransom. Inside the U.S., they’re usually protecting just against random street crime,” said Kimball.

Detective Michael Levay of the NYPD knows firsthand the value of protection. In 2013 he was shot in his ballistic vest during a routine stop for a minor subway violation.

“The gentleman gets up,” he told Altschul. “He starts walking towards the train car door. I see him reach into his waistband, like, a jerk motion with his hand. He pulls out a gun. First round goes off. It strikes me in my vest.

“When I first got hit, it felt like a ton of bricks,” he said.

“I got hit pretty much dead center of the vest. Thankfully it stopped it. I believe it pierced the vest a little bit, but enough that all I had was pretty much a giant bruise.”

The first commercially-available bullet-resistant vest was invented in 1893 by a Chicago Catholic priest named Casimir Zeglen, who proved his garment worked by having himself shot in front of an audience.

Soon, high-profile people around the world bought the silk-and-steel vest, including the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria

But Ferdinand reportedly forgot to wear his vest on June 28, 1914, when an assassin shot and killed him, igniting World War I.

Recent experiments proved Zeglen’s invention could’ve stopped that fateful shot.

Fortunately for Detective Levay, he didn’t forget to put his vest on.

“I know I’m here because the vest saved my life,” he replied. “And I try to be the guy to talk to some of the younger officers, and just, ‘Listen: Take care of yourself. You could get into a dangerous situation. Watch yourself. Watch your partner’s back, and be careful out there.'”

Eddie Griffin on Bill Cosby

Eddie Griffin on Bill Cosby…Controversial.

Another view on Bill Cosby by a Youtube voice, “the black authority”. His defense of Cosby ties it to the failure of the justice system to convict police who have murdered unarmed black people…

The Church of Smith and Wesson Annonited

Pistol-Packing Preacher Shows Changing Black Attitudes on Gun Control

After nine black churchgoers were killed in Charleston, preachers and rappers alike have advocated for the cause of an armed house of worship.
“I wish those folks in that church had been armed.”Those were the controversial words of rapper Killer Mike, on the night that white supremacist Dylann Roof killed nine black churchgoers during a June prayer service at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston.

It appears as though some pastors have taken the emcee’s words to heart.

On Sunday afternoon, authorities say, a pastor at the Church of God in Detroit shot and killed a man who entered the storefront house of worship wielding a brick. The now-deceased assailant, identified as 25-year-old Deante Smith, reportedly had a negative history with Pastor Keon Allison, largely in relation to an alleged love triangle. And so, according to initial reports, Allison whipped out his Glock pistol when Smith violently confronted him.

It is currently illegal to carry a concealed firearm in a Michigan house of worship, though state lawmakers have taken up the debate over whether to change that law. And the timing is just right: While calls for stricter gun laws followed the Charleston massacre, some black pastors—especially in the crime-riddled city of Detroit—have taken up the cause of an armed congregation.

Bishop Ira Combs, Jr. leads the predominantly black Greater Bible Way in Jackson, Mich., and has become a staunch advocate for guns in church.

“If they had security, the assailant would not have been able to reload,” he declared during a sermon weeks after the Charleston attack, according to Reuters. “All of us here are not going to turn the other cheek while you shoot us.”

Combs leads his services flanked by armed security, with several gun-toting guards scattered throughout the congregation like how the Department of Homeland Security deploys undercover air marshals on passenger airlines. The bishop calls it “law enforcement” for the church.

Another Michigan-based pastor, Theron Wiggins of Flint’s Bethel Apostolic Church, told Reuters that his congregation faithfully believes “angels will protect us,” and while they are in his house of worship, he sees himself as “one of the angels.” Wiggins is a former police officer…

A recent Pew study found that 54 percent of blacks believe gun ownership does more to protect people than put people at risk, almost double the 29 percent believing that two years prior. The same poll found that the percentage of blacks who prioritize gun rights over stricter gun laws has doubled since 1993, from 18 to 34 percent. The inverse—support for gun control over gun rights—has fallen among blacks by 14 percentage points over the same 22-year period…

For The George Zimmerman Defense…Race

Kind of hard to escape the last few days evisceration of the first prosecution witness in the Trayvon Martin murder case by the media.  And the role race has played in that.

Rachel Jeantel can’t read cursive. That’s the main takeaway from the fourth day of the George Zimmerman trial: Jeantel, the heavyset, snappy prosecution witness who was on the phone with her friend Trayvon Martin minutes before he died, cannot read script handwriting. Defense attorney Don West underlined that fact for the benefit of the jury, the general public, and everyone else looking for an excuse to dismiss her testimony.

Given the extent to which Jeantel’s demeanor was covered on television and in news articles, you’d be excused for thinking—as Jezebel’s Callie Beusman put it—that she was the one on trial. Over the past couple of days, Jeantel has recounted that Martin told her he was being followed by a “creepy-ass cracker” who, it seems, then proceeded to attack him. Pundits, meanwhile, have made snickering observations that have had little to do with the substance of her testimony. They’ve criticized Jeantel’s weight, her attitude, her manner of dress, and her mumbling, inarticulate answers to West’s questions. These observations are generally framed as discussions of her credibility and how she’ll be received by the jury. But they’re also an excuse to point and laugh at a poor, black teenager who comes from an America that we’d rather not acknowledge exists.

The media has consistently treated Jeantel as if she were some sassy alien life-form. TheNew York Daily News story about yesterday’s proceedings focused on Jeantel-as-sideshow, calling the cursive story an “especially cringe-worthy moment,” and noting that, “[a]t one point, the key prosecution witness blurted out, ‘That’s retarded, Sir’ in response to West’s suggestion that Martin attacked Zimmerman.” On Piers Morgan Tonight, Morgan repeated the phrase “creepy-ass cracker” as if it were some inscrutable bit of baby talk. The day before, panelist Jayne Weintraub disdainfully asserted that “it’s really not about this young woman’s … credibility, because her credibility, it’s a wash whatever her testimony is. Yes, she was a difficult witness. She was impossible.”…

Racial and socioeconomic stereotypes play differently in different contexts. The statements and mannerisms that make Jeantel a laughingstock now might have made her a viral video star outside the courtroom. As I was watching Jeantel’s testimony and the subsequent reaction, I couldn’t help thinking about Aisha Harris’ Slate piece from Mayabout the “fairly recent trend of ‘hilarious’ black neighbors, unwitting Internet celebrities whose appeal seems rooted in a ‘colorful’ style that is always immediately recognizable as poor or working-class.” Charles Ramsey, Antoine Dodson, Sweet Brown—these people caught white America’s attention in part because they so blatantly violated normative behavior. If Jeantel would’ve been filmed saying “That’s retarded, sir” to some reporter on the streets outside her house, the Internet might well be singing her praises. Black people are celebrated when they play the fool in the proper setting.
