How Dylann Root Learned to Hate

Take a look at the video below which illustrates the soft pedalling of racism by Faux News …

Kirsten Powers destroy O’Reilly’s strawman arguments one after another. As usual, O’Reilly resorts to bluster. Other Faux News hosts are more direct…

Dylann Root the 21 Year old man who massacred 8 black churchgoers last week was introduced to the language, code, and basis of hate by people like O’Reilly, and the daily dose of racism from Sean Hannity on Faux News. Those of you who participate or read online boards on any subject having to do with race are familiar with the conservative and Republican memes on race…

They are the same as Dylann Roots.

Dylann Roof’s racist manifesto: A funhouse mirror reflection of right-wing American politics

…It gives the lie to the ruling conservative meme that Roof was just a loan wacko with no affinities with the white-militia movement that the respectable right has tried to keep offstage. It also shows how the accused killer of nine in a Charleston church has roots in weird ideas that are part of even the think-tank culture of the right: Roof’s manifesto is a kind of distorted, funhouse-mirror reflection of Tea Party-era conservative white America’s core beliefs, and it shares the ahistorical way many conservatives deal with race…

1. Trayvon Martin was a dangerous thug and George Zimmerman was right to kill him.

Roof writes that from the Wikipedia entry on the shooting,“It was obvious that Zimmerman was in the right.”

2. Law and order in this country is threatened by dangerous, murderous blacks.

“The first website I came to was the Council of Conservative Citizens. There were pages upon pages of these brutal black on White murders.”

3. Blacks are obsessed with race; they won’t stop talking about it.

“Black people view everything through a racial lense. Thats what racial awareness is, its viewing everything that happens through a racial lense. They are always thinking about the fact that they are black. This is part of the reason they get offended so easily, and think that some thing are intended to be racist towards them, even when a White person wouldnt be thinking about race.”

4. Slavery was not so bad.

“I have read hundreds of slaves narratives from my state. And almost all of them were positive. One sticks out in my mind where an old ex-slave recounted how the day his mistress died was one of the saddest days of his life.”

5. Segregation was not so bad, either.

“Segregation was not a bad thing. It was a defensive measure. Segregation did not exist to hold back negroes.”

6. Black people are intellectually inferior.

“Anyone who thinks that White and black people look as different as we do on the outside, but are somehow magically the same on the inside, is delusional. How could our faces, skin, hair, and body structure all be different, but our brains be exactly the same? This is the nonsense we are led to believe,” he writes. “Negroes have lower Iqs, lower impulse control, and higher testosterone levels in generals. These three things alone are a recipe for violent behavior. If a scientist publishes a paper on the differences between the races in Western Europe or Americans, he can expect to lose his job.”

Now, just about all of this stuff sounds pretty extreme when coming from Dylann Roof, who stands accused of heinous crimes to which he has reportedly confessed. But they’ve all, in some form or another, been heard in establishment or mainstream parts of the U.S. conservative movement. The George Zimmerman defense, which was supported by many conservative talking heads, has its roots in the larger “blacks threaten law and order” belief, an outgrowth of the GOP Southern strategy that dominated Republican politics for decades — the patrician George H.W. Bush (with Atwater’s help) struck gold there with his Willie Horton ad.

As an example, a few of the posts from the political section of the Magazine “National Review” and an article entitled “Step Aside, Reverend Al: The Next Generation of Race-Baiters Has Arrived

MittyMo

  • Keep imagining that. If they all became Republicans, Democrats wouldn’t have won another election.
They’re still Democrats, but they’ve chained blacks to their political plantations by giving them entitlement crumbs & blaming their malaise on the GOP. KKK Grand Kleagle Robert Byrd must have thought the strategy up for Democrats.
No need for Democrats to suppress the black vote as long as blacks are voting for them.

Black-“Americans” ought to be THANKFUL their ancestors were brought here, even as slaves. Otherwise, they would have been born in AFRICA,and never have the rights, education, economic prosperity, opportunity,or peaceful living that they enjoy in the US. No TV,and in many places,no electricity or clean water!!
The worst-off black-“Americans” are FAR better off here than the average African.
Militant black America is at a peak right now. They have been successful in getting “working whites” to cave to their demands to avoid protests, sit-ins, sit-downs and shut-ups; not to mention riots, looting and burning. As we learned from physics however, what goes up must come down and at some point, all this hot air is going to dissipate.
What will be left will be black communities more shunned than ever as businesses turn away from blighted areas and police and fire personnel only show up to peak emergencies. The deepening despair will need a face and a name. DeRay McKesson fits both requirements.
If he really cared about “black lives” then why isn’t he protesting in southside Chicago, or downtown East Saint Louis? He might want to wear a bullet proof vest himself in one of those places.
Charleston is an aberration, a nutcase. McKinney wasn’t racial at all, it was trespassing, a cat fight, and some shouting and pushing. Baltimore has questions, but race wasn’t part of it. Ferguson wasn’t racial either; it was a thug who happened to be black.
If “black lives mattered” then stop chasing ghosts and straighten up the failed black family.
Jim Crow hasn’t been around for centuries, not even one century.
    Slavery actually BENEFITED the blacks;
the slaves children and descendants got to be born in the US instead of Africa, and their descendants got to be American citizens, and FAR better off than if they had been born and lived in Africa.
All in all,it was a pretty fair trade for their labors and suffering. The poorest black in America lives far better than the average African. And has a lot longer life expectancy, too.(until they start murdering each other…) Access to education, healthcare, decent medicine, etc.
Slavery has always existed in many civilizations, from Pre-Columbian Americas to Africa, Europe, the Middle East, even China. It is not a 400 year old invention of whites to own blacks to grow sugar cane and cotton.
And for the record, you may wish to look up Anthony Johnson, a free black man who was one of the first slave owners in the North American colonies. He also owned whites.
Your quoting of slavery and Jim Crow is a cop-out. You want an easy excuse for bad character and misbehavior. Prior to Lyndon Johnson, the majority of black families were intact. The part of my city where I live has a median household income of about $145,000 per year. About 5% of the households are black. Every single one of them is headed by a married couple. Go a few cities away to the housing projects, and about 80% of the population is black and very few households are headed by a married couple. Let’s see if there is a correlation…. wealthy blacks – 100% married; poor blacks – practically no one married.
And to answer your question, at least three thousand years.
The liberals are responsible for much of the current mess. They wanted welfare and affirmative action that IMO have caused the destruction of black societies and culture in cities.
I’ll start believing that black lives matter when blacks start believing that black lives matter. DeRay, take your show to the hood, where you might actually save some black lives from your murderous black brothers.

Exorcism in Maryland Results in Death of Two Children

Proving that the Tea Party didn’t quite get every nutcase in America elected last term…

And the possible impact of watching one too many Twilight reruns.

This is another datapoint in why we, as a country – need to get a hell of a lot better on access to, and treatment of mental illness in our midst. Up to and including re-establishing long term facilities supporting the poor and middle class. Conservative “saint” Raygun kicked the mentally ill out of hospitals and onto the street as homeless, and the country has been paying a high toll for that bit of conservative “logic” ever since.

Police: Md. mother kills 2 kids while performing exorcism

GERMANTOWN, Md. (WUSA9) — A mother killed two of her own children while performing an exorcism in Germantown, Md., police said.

Montgomery County police have charged two women for murder in the Friday deaths of a 1-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl.

Zakieya Latrice Avery, the mother of the children is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the killings, and two counts of attempted first-degree murder, as two other children remain hospitalized after Friday’s attack. Avery, 28, of the 19000 block of Cherry Bend Drive in Germantown, is being held without bond.

Monifa Denise Sanford, 21, who was also at the scene, has been released from the hospital and has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of the two kids and two counts of attempted murder for two children who are still in the hospital. She is also being held without bond.

Police identified the deceased children as Norell N. Harris, a 1-year-old male, and Zyana Z. Harris, a 2-year-old female.

The hospitalized children are identified as Taniya Harris, a 5-year-old female, and Martello Harris, a 8-year-old male.

People have laid down flowers, candles, and teddy bears in front of the home where the two children were killed and the two others were injured. A vigil was held Saturday night to remember the small children who were stabbed to death.

“It’s kind of horrifying for any father, any grandfather,” State’s Attorney John McCarthy said Friday. “These are hard cases,” he said, his voice breaking.

There has been no update on the condition of Taniya or Martello.

American Tent Cities

What is the difference between Picture 1 and Picture 2?

But they live here and allowed me inside

Picture 1

Picture 2

Picture 1 is in America – right here in New Jersey. It, and the “Tent City” it is in, are all some luckless Americans have to live in anymore.  Picture 2 is of a Tent City in Haiti.

They, a poor country to begin with,  suffered a massive earthquake, destroying tens of thousands of homes and villages… These Americans are trying to survive the impact of conservatism in America, where our country’s jobs and manufacturing have been sold to the lowest bidder, and 28% of the Middle Class has fallen into poverty. Millions of Americans have lost their jobs, with no chance of getting them back anytime soon. Millions of Americans have lost their homes due to predatory lending and the bust of the Credit bubble. Millions try and survive without Healthcare.

It is the Second Great Depression.

I see Rick Perry, the Governor of Texas leading in the Republican Primaries bragging on his Texas Economic Miracle…

Except it seems that the Texas Economic Miracle is about as fake as the Texas Education Miracle under the last Texas Governor to run for the Presidency.

Texas ranks 6th in terms of people living in poverty. Some 18.4% of Texans were impoverished in 2010, up from 17.3% a year earlier, according to Census Bureau data released this week. The national average is 15.1%.

And being poor in Texas isn’t easy. The state has one of the lowest rates of spending on its citizens per capita and the highest share of those lacking health insurance. It doesn’t provide a lot of support services to those in need: Relatively few collect food stamps and qualifying for cash assistance is particularly tough.

Lot of folks figured out former Governor, former President Bush was “all hat an no cattle” to borrow a Texas phrase. Seems that Governor Perry doesn’t even have the “hat” part right.

Which is why the Tea Party Republicans are trying so hard to sell racism against the nation’s first black President…

Instead of politics.

Those Peace Loving Conservatives and Inciting Violence

Found this list of conservative quotes on radio and TV inciting violent attacks on Democrats and Liberals. This really is nothing more than domestic terrorism.

Here are some more measured and reasonable comments:

Rush Limbaugh: “I tell people don’t kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus – living fossils – so we will never forget what these people stood for.”

Senator Phil Gramm: “We’re going to keep building the party until we’re hunting Democrats with dogs.”

Rep. James Hansen on Bill Clinton: Get rid of the guy. Impreach him, censure him, assassinate him.”

John Derbyshire intimated in the National Review that because Chelsea Clinton had “the taint,” she should “be killed.”

Ann Coulter: “We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too.”

Ann Coulter: “My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building.”

Bill O’Reilly: “ll those clowns over at the liberal radio network, we could incarcerate them immediately. Will you have that done, please? Send over the FBI and just put them in chains.”

Clear Channel radio host Glenn Beck said he was “thinking about killing Michael Moore” and pondered whether “I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it,” before concluding: “No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out — is this wrong?”

Joyce Kaufman: “If ballots don’t work, bullets will.”

Michelle Bachmann: “Be armed and dangerous”

Michael Savage: “Only vigilance and resistance to this baby dictator, Barack Hussein Obama, can prevent the Khmer Rouge from appearing in this country”

Erick Ericksson: “At what point do the people … march down to their state legislator’s house, pull him outside, and beat him to a bloody pulp?”

Tea Bagger Paradise – Firefighter let family home, 3 dogs, and a cat burn over $75 Fee

I guess the homeowner was lucky one of his children or wife wasn’t trapped in the house. In this perversion of America based on conservatism the Fire Department would have watched them burn too.

Firefighters watch as home burns to the ground

OBION COUNTY, Tenn. – Imagine your home catches fire but the local fire department won’t respond, then watches it burn. That’s exactly what happened to a local family tonight.

A local neighborhood is furious after firefighters watched as an Obion County, Tennessee, home burned to the ground.

The homeowner, Gene Cranick, said he offered to pay whatever it would take for firefighters to put out the flames, but was told it was too late.  They wouldn’t do anything to stop his house from burning.

Each year, Obion County residents must pay $75 if they want fire protection from the city of South Fulton.  But the Cranicks did not pay.

The mayor said if homeowners don’t pay, they’re out of luck.

This fire went on for hours because garden hoses just wouldn’t put it out. It wasn’t until that fire spread to a neighbor’s property, that anyone would respond.

Turns out, the neighbor had paid the fee.

“I thought they’d come out and put it out, even if you hadn’t paid your $75, but I was wrong,” said Gene Cranick.

Because of that, not much is left of Cranick’s house.

They called 911 several times, and initially the South Fulton Fire Department would not come.

The Cranicks told 9-1-1 they would pay firefighters, whatever the cost, to stop the fire before it spread to their house.

“When I called I told them that. My grandson had already called there and he thought that when I got here I could get something done, I couldn’t,” Paulette Cranick.

It was only when a neighbor’s field caught fire, a neighbor who had paid the county fire service fee, that the department responded. Gene Cranick asked the fire chief to make an exception and save his home, the chief wouldn’t.

We asked him why.

He wouldn’t talk to us and called police to have us escorted off the property. Police never came but firefighters quickly left the scene. Meanwhile, the Cranick home continued to burn.

We asked the mayor of South Fulton if the chief could have made an exception.

“Anybody that’s not in the city of South Fulton, it’s a service we offer, either they accept it or they don’t,” Mayor David Crocker said.

Friends and neighbors said it’s a cruel and dangerous city policy but the Cranicks don’t blame the firefighters themselves. They blame the people in charge.

“They’re doing their job,” Paulette Cranick said of the firefighters. “They’re doing what they are told to do. It’s not their fault.”

To give you an idea of just how intense the feelings got in this situation, soon after the fire department returned to the station, the Obion County Sheriff’s Department said someone went there and assaulted one of the firefighters.

Proof That Conservatism Will Drive Some Black Folks Crazy

They need to start treating Tomism as a mental illness. Conservatism will make you sick in the head – as well as stupid. You don’t believe that then look at the group of Tea Baggers slobbering at the mouth like they got rabies shouting the “N-word” and other curses at Congressmen. These two have taken your normal run-of-the-mill Tomism as evinced by those black conservatives whose sole role in life is to defend white conservatives against charges of racism…

To a whole new whack-job level.

Black Conservative Blogger, Solomon (Solly) Forell, Calls for Assassination of President Obama Over Health Care Reform

According to Jezebel, Solomon (Solly) Forell, a self-described black conservative blogger, used his public Twitter account to urge the assassination of President Barack Obama because of the passage of the massive health care reform legislation.

A second message from Solly Forrel is even more ominous.

Jay Martin Says on His Twitter Account “If I Lived in D.C. I’d Shoot Him Myself,” in Reference to President Obama

Jay Martin, who graduated from Vatterott Colleger with a degree in Information Technology, let his frustrations over the health care reform legislation be known on his Twitter account, in which he maintains his position as an anti-New World Order conspiracy theorist via his wallpaper.

Newsone grabbed some of his tweets:

Another Republican Failure – U.S. Ranks in Top 5 in Worst Food Safety Culprits

Within two hours of Bush’s swearing-in on Jan. 20, White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card halted publication of most new regulations in the Federal Register and postponed for 60 days the start of rules already published. To figure out which food rules should stay and which should go, members of the Bush administration are calling each of the USDA’s 29 agencies looking for food-related proposals, executive orders and announcements for review. Veneman and a team of Bush’s top policy advisers will decide which rules they like and which ones they want to change or toss out entirely.

The conservative “gub’ment deregulation fever” led to the deaths of hundreds of Americans, and sickening nearly 70 million a year. After 8 years of the Bushit destroying Food Safety, the United States now ranks near the bottom

A new international food safety monitoring tool has been developed to track food safety offenses by country, and the results don’t look good for the U.S. It joins China, Turkey, Iran, and Spain as the five countries with the worst records of food safety.

The new tool uses massive amounts of food recall data collected from 2003 to 2008 to make it’s calculations, and it’s all available online in a user-friendly format for anyone to see, even if it is still obviously geared towards researchers. According to one of the tool’s developers, D. P. Naughton, “No other system can reflect the complexity of this information in a snapshot form.” This advanced level of food safety analysis should prove particularly useful to developing countries, many of which still don’t have comprehensive food safety programs.

This is perhaps the first time such a massive amount of food recall data has been compiled and analyzed in this way, and the results should wake America up. Why is the richest nation in the world doing such a terrible job protecting its citizens from food contamination?

The answer to that question is complex, but a two simple things are clear: Our industrial system that prioritizes speed and low cost is dangerous, and we need to do something about it now.
