Republican Congressman Doug Lamborn Calls President Obama…A Tar Baby

Republican Tea Bagger types really can’t get their wee weenies out of their mouths.

The problem here isn’t the use of the term “Tar Baby” to describe a particularly intractable problem or messy issue that sucks you into a morass… Ala “the debt ceiling debate has become a real political tar baby for anyone who jumps in with an opinion.”

It’s personalizing it and calling the President himself a “Tar Baby”, which converts it into a racially derogatory term.

This guy is a right wingdizzie Republican, and a Tea Party favorite – so we already know there is a 99% chance he is a bigot. However – even right wing whackjobs like Mr. Lamborn have become pretty sensitive to the political implications of “bigot speak”. But an intelligent right wing whack job…

Is a bit of an oxymoron in the first place.

So here we have yet another example of Republican racist foot in mouth disease.

Doug Lamborn, Colorado Congressman, Refers To Obama Dealings As Being Stuck To A ‘Tar Baby’

Congressman Doug Lamborn, U.S. Representative for Colorado, was recently on the 630 KHOW Capils and Silverman radio show discussing President Obama, the President’s economic policies, and the debt ceiling deals being debated. Lamborn used a controversial phrase to describe working with the President:

Even if some people say, ‘Well the Republicans should have done this or they should have done that,’ they will hold the President responsible. Now, I don’t even want to have to be associated with him. It’s like touching a tar baby and you get it, you’re stuck, and you’re a part of the problem now and you can’t get away. I don’t want that to happen to us, but if it does or not, he’ll still get, properly so, the blame because his policies for four years will have failed the American people. Brown Crier Boehner’s Boner?

First they came for the Weiners…

Now it’s  Boehner’s turn?

BOEHNER Affair to be focus of NYTimes Expose

House Minority Leader John Boehner was asked by a liberal blogger Thursday to answer questions about an affair with a lobbyist, an allegation that will reportedly be the focus of an upcoming New York Times expose. Boehner ignored the question outright. Mike Stark, an activist and blogger, intercepted Leader Boehner after his highly publicized “Pledge to America” unveiling to ask him about the accusation: “Speaker Boehner, have you been cheating with Lisbeth Lyons, the lobbyist for the American Printing Association?” Stark asks. Boehner did not respond.

Now that the press has whacked Wiener – On to the next victim!

Turnabout… Indeed.

I bet the Republicans don’t get all weak in the knees and call for his resignation!

Think I will co-file this one under “Domestic Terrorism”.

Congressman Pimp Slaps Conservative Scumbag

Couple of things go along with being a Congressman or Senator in Washington DC. The first is that the press is going to want to interview you, if you are front and center on any significant legislation or have “Bimbo problems”.

The second, as demonstrated by the Anthrax Attacks, and a gunman killing 2 Capitol Police in an attempt to shoot Congressmen – is that there are whack jobs out there who may try to harm you.

Despite these risks, Congressmen and Senators try and live normal lives – and unless there is some credible known threat, such as some of the whack job Tea Bagger driven threats against Pelosi and Reid, they don’t walk around with a protective detail or bodyguards.

Sans “Bimbo problems”, getting an interview with one of them isn’t very hard for any legitimate news outlet. Politicians by definition, want to be in the public eye. However – in view of the second thing above, “Ambush journalism” is probably not a good idea. Not the least because the Capitol Police may see you lame attempt at imitating the Acorn Pimp as an attack on a Representative…

And justifiably shoot your ass.

The second because you just might pick on a Democrat WITH cajones, as in this case…

And he pimp slaps your stupid ass all the way down C Street!

WTG Representative Bob Etheridge!

This one appears to be another Brietbart pimp wannabe – and you will notice he refuses to identify himself, give his name – and his face is obscured in the “video”. Which if he wasn’t up to something sleazy, he would have done. He also starts the confrontation by shoving the camera onto the Congressman’s face assaulting him, and starting with a pejorative question about the “Obama Agenda”…

As if the pimp slapping wasn’t enough. the Capitol Police should arrest this guy and his cameraman for assault and let them cool their pixels in DC Jail for a few days.

Louisiana Rep Breaks Down Discussing Oil Disaster

This spill hurts real people –

Things got emotional in the House today, when Louisiana Rep. Charlie Melancon broke down during his testimony about the Louisiana oil spill. He began by rattling off a string of disasters that has befallen his state, like Hurricanes Katrina, Gustav, and Ike. “It’s not been fun,” he said. Then, as his voice began to shake, he spoke of the impact of the “slow-motion tragedy” on the state’s people. “Our culture is threatened, our coastal economy is threatened, and everything that I know and love is at risk,” he said. Then, choked with emotion and unable to hide his tears, he continued, “Even though this marsh lies along coastal Louisiana, these are America’s wetlands.” Unable to finish, he asked that the rest of his written comments be submitted to the official record. Melancon, a Democrat, is running for David Vitters’ Senate seat this fall, according to Politics Daily.

World Champion Boxer… Congressman? Representative Manny Pacquiao

It looks like WBO Welterweight Champion Manny Pacquiao has scored another knockout. Known to American viewers for his prowess in the ring, it turns out Pacquiao is an astute politician as well.

Manny Pacquiao Declares ‘Landslide’ Congressional Win In Philippines

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines — Manny Pacquiao. Congressman in the Republic of the Philippines.

The current WBO welterweight boxing champion and seven-time title holder scored the most personally satisfying win of his life in his birthplace in the country’s national elections early Tuesday morning, soundly defeating a heavily favored candidate, Roy Chiongbian, from an entrenched billionaire clan to win a seat in the Philippines Congress representing the province of Sarangani on the island of Mindanao.

By doing so, Pacquiao, 31, becomes the first professional boxer to hold national public office while still active in the ring. After his victory in the Philippines’ first fully electronic national elections was deemed largely official by early Tuesday morning, Pacquiao felt confident enough to declare victory over Chiongbian, 61.

Earlier, as election results came into his campaign office, the country’s most famous athlete had no doubt.

For, even though the final vote tallies weren’t complete, Pacquiao’s approximately 90,000 votes out of 125,000 registered voters made it mathematically impossible for the boxing hero to lose.

“This is the biggest achievement of Manny’s life. More than any boxing match,” said Pacquiao’s adviser, Michael Koncz, adding that Pacquiao will make an official proclamation of victory at 11 a.m local time Tuesday.

Hope the Congress in the Philippines is a bit more peaceful than those we’ve seen from other parts of the world! I voting for whichever party Manny is from to win those across the isles food fights! Unlike other politicians, Manny has a solid left…And a wicked right! 🙂

Congrats, Congressman Pacquiao!

Would The Last Politician Standing in New York… Please Close the Door?

Dayam! ANOTHER New York Democrat goes down –

Facing Misconduct Allegations, Massa to Resign

Facing “allegations of misconduct” that reportedly involve sexual harassment against a male staffer, freshman Rep. Eric Massa is resigning Monday.

“I own his reality,” the New York Democrat said in a statement, admitting to using language that “might make a chief petty officer feel uncomfortable.”

Massa went on to call Washington an “incredibly toxic atmosphere” and said the ethics committee probe “would tear my family and my staff apart.”

“In that investigators would be free to ask anything about me going back to my birth, I simply cannot rise to that level of perfection,” he said. “God knows that I am a deeply flawed and imperfect person.”

The House ethics panel is reviewing a complaint by a male staffer who reportedly felt uncomfortable in a situation with Massa that had sexual overtones.

Massa said he is resigning with a “profound sense of failure and a deep apology to all those whom, for the past year, I tried to represent as our nation struggles with problems far greater than anyone can possibly imagine.”

Massa announced Wednesday he would retire at the end of his term because of a recurrence of non-Hodgkins lymphoma, first diagnosed in 1996. He also addressed head-on the harassment allegations.

“The allegations are totally false. I am a salty old sailor,” Massa, a former Navy officer, said at a news conference. “These are blogs that are saying that I am leaving because of charges of harassing my staff. Do and have I used salty language? Yes, and I have tried to do better.”

He called the blogs “a symptom of the problem in this city.”
