Looks like it all has caught up with Beck…
First he lost New York, then Philly – and now his nightly psychobabble on Faux News!
Could it just possibly be the loss of advertisers on Faux caused by the Color of Change Boycott?
Glenn Beck will end his daily Fox News Channel program later this year.
His departure was jointly announced in a statement on Wednesday by Fox and Mr. Beck’s company, Mercury Radio Arts.
Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts, which have clashed over the making of “Glenn Beck,” will “work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties,” the companies said in the statement.
As expected, a senior Fox News executive, Joel Cheatwood, will join Mr. Beck at Mercury Radio Arts starting later this month.
The joint statement did not specify an end date for Mr. Beck’s show, called “Glenn Beck,” which has been telecast at 5 p.m. on Fox News since early 2009. Asked if Fox News had a rough end date for “Glenn Beck,” a spokeswoman referred back to the statement. Mr. Beck’s contract with Fox ends in December.

According to Color of Change’s James Rucker, Fox News Channel is struggling to fill advertising slots on Beck’s show as evidenced by the surge in house ads for Fox News and gold coins. But a more important result of Color of Change’s campaign against Beck may be the fact that some companies have pulled ads from Fox News entirely, including Apple.

’19 more advertisers ditch Glenn Beck

Great news today in our campaign against Glenn Beck. We’re announcing that nineteen more of Beck’s advertisers have stopped supporting his show. That number includes two British companies who just announced that they’ve pulled their ads from the UK broadcast of Beck’s show after hearing from customers.
Two companies–Waitrose (the British supermarket chain) and Metropolitan Talent Management–pulled their ads not only from Beck’s show, but from Fox News in general.
Over 280,000 of us have now called on advertisers to stop supporting Beck’s show. We are keeping Beck isolated and making sure that he continues to be a financial liability for Fox. Eventually, Fox will have to explain why they are continuing to give Beck’s race-baiting and fear-mongering a platform even as it hurts their bottom line.

Glenn Beck ‘fesses-up to being a “Dirtbag”, as well as having been financially hurt by the Boycott.
The funniest accusation is that it is the great mysterious “Powers that be” that are putting the hurt on him – when in actuality it is hundreds of thousands of consumers who have tired of his racist and anti-American rants.
Beck admits to being a recovering alcoholic. And if that is true, I can wish him nothing but success in his continued recovery. However, if this guys stopped drinking…
Why does he still act like he’s suffering the effects of the DT’s?

If you have been checking in here, or over at more leading sites such as Jack and Jill and Color of Change who are leading the charge for responsible journalism over the nation’s airwaves – then you know about the Glenn Back Boycott.
So far, over 36 Advertisers have asked for their ads to be removed from Faux New’s Glenn Beck Show, or removed their advertisements entirely from Faux, in a response to incendiary comments made over the public airwaves by Beck threatening President Obama.
Resulting in Glenn Beck “taking a vacation”.
Seeking traction against his “Enemies”, Beck and a number of his defenders on the right searched for a “Reverend Wright” to tar and caricature as something (ANYTHING!) which might be portrayed as a “Giant Negro” …
Leading to their attack on Van Jones, who co-founded Color of Change and now is one of the President’s “Czars”. Here is yet another “Thrilla in Vanilla” –
Unfortunately for the Beck supporters, the facts get in the way of a really good right wing rant session (although that’s never bothered them in the past)…
First – Van Jones’ affiliation with Color of Change ended in 2005, four years ago, whereas the Boycott of Beck started only about a month ago. Continue reading

Coming Down Around His Shoulders
As to today, Color of Change announced that 20 advertisers have pulled their advertisements, or specified that their advertisements not be shown during the Glenn Beck show on Faux News.
ColorofChange.org announced today that the nation’s largest retailer Wal-Mart has pulled its ads from Glenn Beck’s Fox News program. Seven other companies joined the retail giant, including Best Buy and CVS have stopped advertising on Beck’s program. This now means that 20 advertisers have left Glenn Beck since he called Obama a racist.
Allergan (maker of Restasis), Ally Bank (a unit of GMAC Financial Services), Best Buy, Broadview Security, CVS, Re-Bath, Travelocity and Wal-Mart all announced that they will no longer advertise on Beck’s show.
When you look at the list of all 20 companies that have left Beck, there are many household names there. ConAgra, GEICO, Lawyers.com, Men’s Wearhouse, Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, RadioShack, Roche, SC Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis, Sargento, and State Farm Insurance have all previously dropped Beck.
Is the Baycott being effective?
