A Toledo pastor and two family members have been charged with felonies for allegedly beating and robbing a Sunday school teacher at church.
Pastor Anthony Morris and his wife, Zelda Morris, and daughter Kamali Morris were each charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony, after the incident Sunday at St. Paul’s AME Zion Church, reported the Toledo Blade.
Police said Nickema Turner was teaching at the church when the 49-year-old pastor and his family attacked her, and the 46-year-old wife dumped items from the Maumee woman’s purse and took them.
Turner tried to recover her belongings when Morris drew a gun, pointed the weapon at her and threatened to kills her, police said.
The couple fled the church with their 19-year-old daughter after the attack, police said.
Turner was treated for unspecified injuries at the church.
The pastor and his family remained at large late Monday morning.
Let’s see…Young black guy standing in a garage watching the “festivities” between protesters in Charlottesville a month ago, get jumped by a gang of KKK/neo-Nazi types, beaten with stick and flagpoles…And the black guy gets charges with a “Felony” for defending himself by striking one of his attackers.
Yeah…Must have been because the half dozen KKK/neo-nazi types were so vastly outnumbered by one black guy.
A black man brutally beaten at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville is now facing a felony charge related to the August attack.
A local magistrate on Monday issued an arrest warrant for DeAndre Harris on an unlawful wounding charge after an accuser, whom police did not identify, claimed to have been injured by the 20-year-old during the brawl, authorities told local media.
S. Lee Merritt, a civil attorney for Harris, told The Washington Post the charge was “clearly retaliatory” and described the accuser as a member of a white supremacist group. He maintained that Harris did not instigate the fight.
“We find it highly offensive and upsetting, but what’s more jarring is that he’s been charged with the same crime as the men who attacked him,” he said.
Merritt added that it was “highly unusual” for the warrant to come from a magistrate rather than police, and suggested that the accuser had previously tried to implicate Harris in the violence without success. He said his client would turn himself into police in the coming days.
In a statement provided to WVIR, the Charlottesville Police Department said the alleged victim went to the magistrate’s office in person to explain what happened. After discussing the accuser’s story with a detective, the magistrate issued the warrant.
Harris was marching in opposition to the rally on Aug. 12 when a scuffle broke out between a group of white supremacists and several counterprotesters at a downtown parking garage.
Videos from the scene showed a white supremacist thrusting a Confederate flag pole at a counterprotester and Harris swinging a flashlight at the man. Six white supremacists then descended on Harris, kicking him and striking him with wooden sticks as he lay curled up on the pavement, as The Post has reported.
Images of the brawl and Harris’s bloodied face went viral, prompting a frenzied campaign on social media to identify his attackers.
Two men were later arrested in the attack on Harris, who said he suffered a concussion, a head laceration that required 10 staples and other injuries. Both were charged with malicious wounding, a felony…
A new lawsuit alleges that Silicon Valley CEO Gurbaksh Chahal routinely used racial slurs when speaking to subordinates, physically attacked two women and fired a male employee who tried to prevent him from striking a third woman.
The Daily Beast reported Sunday that Chahal is the subject of a lawsuit which alleges that he called workers his “n**gers” and took out his violent rages on employees. Two other pending lawsuits against Chahal accuse him of misleading investors, hiring women based on their looks and making death threats against one employee of his multiple tech companies.
In 2013, Chahal briefly stepped down as CEO of his ad tech company RadiumOne after a vicious attack on his then girlfriend in a San Francisco penthouse.
Police examined surveillance video and determined that during the attack, Chahal punched and kicked the woman he was dating 117 times. He then tried to smother her with a pillow for 20 seconds. Court records show that microphones caught Chahal telling the woman “I’m going to kill you” four times as he beat her.
Nonetheless, he resumed his position at RadiumOne after he was able to get the 47 felony counts against him dropped by a judge who ruled that the video was inadmissible as evidence. Chahal crowed online that he was innocent and accused his former partner of having sex with other men for money.
The RadiumOne board ousted Chahal, but he formed a new company called Gravity4 and has continued to helm new ventures including trying to raise $100 billion to start a new Bitcoin-like crypto-currency, the Daily Beast’s Kelly Weill wrote. Former reality TV star and hotel heiress Paris Hilton has given her imprimatur to the project.
“He’s the biggest liar I’ve ever met in my life,” said one former employee to the Daily Beast.
Gravity4 chief of staff Ali Al-Ansari filed a new suit alleging that Chahal is shockingly sexist, detailing a series of remarks he made against women’s rights and equal pay for men and women.
Other pending lawsuits accuse Chahal of forcing alcohol on women, attacking another girlfriend and then pressuring an employee to help him evade charges, as well as asking male coworkers if women job applicants’ breasts were attractive enough to hire.
Al-Ansari alleges that Chahal described to him in lurid detail how he wanted to further harm the two women he’d attacked, who he saw as trying to “ruin his life.”
The final straw for Al-Ansari came in a Miami apartment when Chahal attempted to attack a woman and Al-Ansari physically prevented the assault.
According to the lawsuit, “Al-Ansari was forced to interpose himself between the woman and Chahal and physically intervened to defend this woman to block Chahal from hitting her. Chahal nonetheless managed to hit this woman. Al-Ansari repeatedly told Chahal ‘don’t touch her!’”
When Al-Ansari took out his phone and began to record the altercation, Chahal reportedly fired him on the spot. The lawsuit further alleges that after the firing, Chahal tried to illegally access Al-Ansari’s personal laptop and destroy incriminating data.
Chahal was freely racist and open about his contempt for black people, the lawsuit says. He used the “N-word” frequently and was resentful and defiant when called out about it.
“I’m not going to stop the n-word,” Chahal said in a discussion transcribed in the suit. “Dude, do you want me to go ahead and say n**ger, n**ger, n**ger? I don’t give a fuck. Martin Luther King might not like that, but he’s a n**ger, too.”
Couple of good shots in there at then end when the crowd takes this clown down.
Understand the guy being upset that he had coffee spilled on his cheap, ill fitting suit. Most intelligent people settle it with an offer to pay for cleaning the suit. Of course, intelligence and racist Trumpazoid aren’t words you usually find in the same sentence.
Had a similar situation on an airplane while flying to Dallas on a day trip. The Flight Attendant dumped the entire breakfast tray on my chest when the aircraft hit turbulence. Being a day trip, where I expected to return that evening, I had not packed any spare clothes. Having taken my suit jacket off prior to sitting, the damage was to my shirt and tie. Explained the situation to the Flight Attendant. When arriving in Dallas, not having time for a dry cleaner, I bought a new shirt and tie. The Airline reimbursed me for the inconvenience (this was back in the day when they still gave a shit about passengers). A straightforward solution for everyone concerned.
The difference between normal people and Trump inspired racist assholes.
The officer then handcuffs the man, before another officer appears to run over to the pair and stomp on the man’s face.
The footage was taken in Georgia on a mobile phone.
Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta wrote on Facebook: “We are DEMANDING that Gwinnett County Police Department immediately terminate this officer who viciously kicked a HANDCUFFED BLACK MAN lying on the ground in the middle of the street (off Sugarloaf Parkway) without cause and without merit.
“After brutally kicking him in the face, blood splattered everywhere.”
The group said it would now seek to have criminal charges brought against the officer.
The Gwinnett County police department is yet to comment on the video.
A man was arrested Tuesday after attacking a restaurant employee in Salem, Oregon, with a pipe and yelling, “go back to your country, terrorist” and “Arab, you need to leave asshole.” The attack is being investigated as a possible hate crime.
Jason Kendall, 52, allegedly began yelling and screaming at the employee, Portland’s KOIN 6 reported Thursday. After he was asked to leave, he returned a few minutes later and struck the victim over the head with a pipe while unleashing a stream of racist abuse, also including “get out of America.”
The altercation, in which court documents allege Kendall also threw something plastic at the victim, left the employee with a small bump on his head. Kendall told police that he saw an “evil totem” with Arabic writing on it and threw it at the victim.
Kendall also explained to the arresting officer that he saw a “Saddam Hussein looking guy” and believed a woman in the restaurant was a slave. He said he went in to tell her that she was “free to leave.”
Kendall has been charged with felony assault, unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor intimidation.
Now it seems that at least one of these accusers is going ahead by filing a lawsuit against Trump, as lawyer Gloria Allred announced on Tuesday that she will represent a woman who is alleging that Trump “engaged in sexually inappropriate contact with her.”
Allred says that both she and the accuser will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. ET (11:30 a.m. PT) on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Evanston Police released a dash cam video on Wednesday of a 2015 interaction between an officer and a black engineering doctoral candidate accused of stealing his own car.
On October 10, 2015, a woman called the cops on Lawrence Crosby—who was working on his own vehicle—to report that a black man appeared to be breaking into a car and stealing it, Fox Chicago reports.
“Hi somebody’s trying to break into, somebody’s trying to break into a car,” she told the 9-11 dispatcher, later adding, ”I think the person just got into the car.”
Crosby was driving towards the Northwestern University campus when police pulled him over. His car was equipped with its own dash cam video, and on the recording Crosby can be heard telling someone he suspected he was being followed.
Police pulled him over in a church parking lot, where Crosby was violently detained for stealing his own car.
“On the ground, on the ground, down on the ground—down on the ground, turn around,” police said as several officers swarmed Crosby and forced him to the pavement. He was charged with resisting arrest and disobeying an officer.
Evanston Alderman Brian Miller—who’s running for mayor—told Fox Chicago he’s furious with what’s shown on the video, saying it should be a “wakeup call” for the police department.
“I understand being a police officer is a tough job, but we need them to exercise judgment in their day to day operations,” Miller said “And in this situation, within ten seconds of Mr. Crosby getting out of his car with his hands in the air, he was tackled, he was kneed while he was standing up, then he was punched repeatedly by multiple officers, for allegedly stealing his own car. Our police officers need to be better than that.”
A judge threw out the criminal charges against Crosby. He filed civil rights lawsuit against the Evanston Police Department.
A police dashcam video appears to show a Texas officer shooting a black man as he is walking away from the officer and not posing any immediate threat.
A lawyer for David Collie released a copy of the video showing the July encounter with a Fort Worth officer and a Tarrant County sheriff’s deputy. The officer and deputy were off duty at the time and working a security detail together at an apartment complex, attorney Nate Washington said on Wednesday.
He said Collie was shot in the back, leaving him paralyzed.
This release of dashcam footage comes on the heels of another recording involving alleged police misconduct in Fort Worth posted on Facebook Live last week. It showed an officer aggressively arresting a woman and her two daughters.
Washington said he released the video to show that last week’s incident was not an isolated case.
“Many members of our community have been assaulted, handled roughly by Fort Worth police officers,” Washington said. “To be clear, we believe the vast majority of police officers are good and decent people.”
Police at the time were searching for two shirtless black men who they believed had committed a robbery near a gas station, Washington said. Authorities said in a news release they issued at the time that Collie had pulled a box cutter from his pocket and pointed it at the officers.
Collie was charged with aggravated assault on a public servant but a grand jury declined to indict him.
Fort Worth police told NBC 5 that they would not comment until an internal investigation was complete. “In order to abide by state law, there is a process that we have to follow for the fairness of all the parties involved,” the department said. “Once the investigation has concluded, we will provide you with the results.”
Collie, 33, was walking from work to a friend’s apartment when the officers approached him in the patrol vehicle, Washington said. It was the Fort Worth officer who shot Collie, Washington said, and the video appears to show the officer firing his weapon about 10 seconds after exiting the vehicle, as Collie walked away. The video was obtained about three weeks ago from the Tarrant County district attorney’s office through an open records request, Washington said.
The attorney also said he released the video on Tuesday at a news conference at Collie’s insistence because Collie was tired of comments made to his mother by people assuming he must have done something wrong.
Washington said Collie wanted to make clear he “didn’t do anything to threaten an officer”.
In the incident that prompted Washington to release the video, cellphone footagecaptured a white Fort Worth officer last week wrestling a black woman to the ground and then arresting her and her two daughters. The officer appeared to be argumentative and escalate the encounter with the woman, who had called police following an encounter between her son and a neighbor. The video has been viewed millions of times.
The strangers allegedly argued about the election. Then he hit her.
A man punched a woman in the face at a popular French restaurant in Brooklyn after she expressed disappointment about the election of President-elect Donald Trump, according to reports from restaurant staff and witnesses.
On Saturday night, a 49-year-old woman who has not been publicly identified was at Bar Tabac in Boerum Hill with a female friend. According to Jonas Leon, the manager who was working that night, the two women were discussing the outcome of the election when a man at a nearby table got into an argument with them.
The man asked the manager to kick the women out of the restaurant. Instead, Leon moved the man and his dining companion to another table. The man paid for his meal and left the restaurant, Leon said, before sprinting back in and punching one of the women square in the face.
“The guy came back almost running, and he started pushing some customer and the high-chair next to him with the baby because he couldn’t reach the girl,” Leon said. “Then he punched the girl.”
We at Bar Tabac do not condone violence of any type or manner, especially in our own establishment; to the tough guy who assaulted a female patron of ours on Saturday night over a political conversation: Once the law is done with you, do not come back to Bar Tabac (this includes your partner). At a point in this nation when tensions are highest we need to come together now more than ever, we apologize to any customers who had to witness this vulgar outburst.
In the aftermath of Trump’s surprise election, there has been a slew of reports of racist, anti-Semitic and anti-women attacks by Trump supporters.
“Since the election, we’ve seen a big uptick in incidents of vandalism, threats, intimidation spurred by the rhetoric surrounding Mr. Trump’s election,” Richard Cohen, president of the Southern Poverty Law Center, told USA TODAY.
Trump says his boasts of sexual assault were just talk. These women say it happened to them.
Four women came forward Wednesday night with allegations of Donald Trump sexually assaulting them.
The New York Times began the wave of accounts with a bombshell report on two women, Jessica Leeds and Rachel Crooks, who say Trump groped them. Both had told close friends of being assaulted by Trump, but neither had gone public with their story until Wednesday. A third woman, Mindy McGillivray, also accused Trump of groping her in a story published by the The Palm Beach Post shortly after the Times article appeared. And later Wednesday, People writer Natasha Stoynoff said Trump had attempted to force himself on her while she was interviewing him.
Three of the alleged incidents happened in the early to mid-2000s, while one was 30 years ago. Two occurred at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s estate in South Florida. All four paint a disturbing picture of a man who 11 years ago was recorded boasting he can sexually assault women at will because of his fame.
Leeds, now 74, said she was seated next to Trump on an airplane three decades ago when the businessman grabbed her breasts and attempted to reach up her skirt.
“He was like an octopus,” she told the Times. “His hands were everywhere.”
Crooks, who was working as a receptionist for a firm located in Trump Tower in 2005, said she met Trump outside an elevator in the building. According to Crooks, Trump shook her hand and would not let go, and then started kissing her on the mouth.
Corey Lewandowski turned himself in to police early Tuesday.
Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, was charged with battery Tuesday following an incident in which he allegedly grabbed a reporter, Michelle Fields, at a campaign event earlier this month.
Lewandowski turned himself in to police Tuesday morning in Jupiter, Florida, where he was charged with misdemeanor battery.
Trump and Lewandowski have repeatedly denied that the campaign manager grabbed Fields, and Lewandowski has called Fields “delusional.”
Fields released a photo of her arm with a series of finger-shaped bruises. And newly released video footage appears to show Lewandowski reaching over and roughly grabbing Fields at the Jupiter event, nearly throwing her off balance.
The video suggests that Lewandowski was lying when he attacked Fields’ credibility and accused her of seeking attention. This is a tactic Trump himself has popularized, through vicious and personal attacks on journalists like Megyn Kelly and Jorge Ramos.
Fields resigned from Breitbart News shortly after the incident, because she said the news outlet failed to publicly stand by her.
The Trump campaign responded to the charges Tuesday morning, telling reporters that Lewandowski will plead not guilty and that he intends to fight the charges.
Lewandowski will be represented by two defense lawyers. One of them is Kendall Coffey, a former U.S. attorney who was forced to resign that post in 1996 after he was accused of biting a stripper in Miami.
Officials say 32-year-old Tony Pettway was released at the scene and will have to appear in court.
In addition to Pettway, 67-year-old Linda Rothman was charged with misdemeanor assault for an incident at the rally in the Tucson Convention Center on Saturday, although details of that incident are unclear.
Pettway’s attack was captured on multiple videos, showing him ripping the sign out of the hand of a protester being escorted away from him and then punching the man. After the victim is on the ground, Pettway then repeatedly kicks him.
“I was being escorted out of the building, I had that in my right hand a peace sign up,” Sanders said. “A guy grabbed the sign out of my right hand and sucker punched me. Then he go to top of me and hit me several more times.”
Amateur video from earlier in the rally appears to show Sanders accompanying a woman who was wearing a hood in the style of the Ku Klux Klan, as she makes what appears to be a Nazi-style salute. It appears the sign Sanders was carrying was a picture of Trump with the Confederate flag superimposed on top.
Muslim and Hispanic students in Kansas were violently attacked by a man who made racist threats and warned them Donald Trump would win the presidential election.
Khondoker Usama, a Muslim and the student body vice president at Wichita State, said he and a friend were filling their vehicle with gas early Saturday near campus when a white man hurled a racial epithet at a black customer, reported The Wichita Eagle.
The man, who was in his 20s or 30s, then turned his attention to Usama and his friend.
“Then suddenly it turned onto us, calling us ‘brown trash, go home. Trump will win,’” Usama said.
The man then told the students they had better leave the U.S., but Usama told the man he had no right to say that.
The argument escalated, and Usama said the man punched his friend and then shoved him to the ground when he tried to intervene.
Usama said he backed away and called 911 after the attacker reached toward his pocket as he kicked the other student, who was knocked to the ground.
“He saw that I was calling the police and got back on his motorcycle and circled around us and was saying, ‘Trump, Trump, Trump — we will make America great again. You losers will be thrown out of the wall,’” Usama said.
Two freshman students are accused of spray-painting racist and homophobic slurs — along with swastikas and the name of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump — inside a chapel at Northwestern University.
Anthony Morales and Matthew Kafker faced a Cook County judge Saturday on charges of institutional vandalism, hate crime to a place of worship and criminal damage to property, reported the Chicago Tribune.
The 19-year-old Morales and 18-year-old Kafker are accused of breaking into the nondenominational Alice Millar Chapel about 12:45 a.m. Friday and spray-painting the slurs on chapel walls and painting lines over photos of Muslim students posted inside the house of worship.
They also spray-painted penises throughout the church, including on a piano, and painted Nazi symbols in a hallway and Trump’s name in a stairwell.
