Alex Jones Floats Chumph Assasination, Coup

With Jones it is hard to tell whether he is advertising for a hit, or it is just wishful thinking to bring his whackjob audience to civil war.

One problem with Jones’ fantasy…If you kill Trump you have to kill all the Republican co-conspirators in Congress.

That ain’t going to happen short of a full coup, and that ain’t gonna happen short of the Military fully buying in. So…Short of some Lone Wolf whackjob doing the dirty deed, the Chumph will be removed by Impeachment either in the next few months, or in 2018 should the Democrats get the numbers.

Alex Jones claims Deep State is ‘going to kill’ Trump

Right-wing radio personality Alex Jones said Friday that the so-called Deep State is planning to assassinate President Donald Trump.

He and others on the far right have been accusing career government employees in the Deep State, particularily those who work in national security, of conspiring against Trump and his agenda. Far-right internet personality Mike Cernovich joined Jones Friday in predicting a coup against Trump in the next couple of months.

“They’re saying, ‘A month or two we’re going to kill the president, month or two we’re going to remove him,’” Jones said. “This is so sinister.”

Jones has a substantial following, with 4.8 million unique visits to his Infowars.com between June 5 and July 4, according to Quantcast. On Friday, he followed up with a call to arms, saying the Deep State is planning to kill Trump supporters as well as the president.

“If they ban us from YouTube, that’s when Trump will be killed, there’s no question about it,” Cernovich said. “They’re going to kill us, they’re going to kill him, they’re going to kill everybody.”

In recent months, the Infowars host and other conspiratorial right-wingers have been predicting a second civil war between conservatives and liberals. Jones and Cernovich alleged they were being censored by YouTube and Google and talked about planning protests against tech giants, including one at Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg’s house.

“Folks, they are going to blow the president’s head off, they are going to bomb him,” Jones said. “They are getting ready.”

Trump appeared on Jones’s show during the campaign, and longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone is a frequent guest on the program. “Your reputation is amazing. I will not let you down,” Trump told Jones.

Cernovich and Jones both promoted the so-called Pizzagate conspiracy theory, a false allegation that Hillary Clinton was involved in a child-sex-abuse ring. Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. has praised Cernovich, saying a he should win a Pulitizer for accusing Susan Rice of “unmasking” Trump associates. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster reportedly determined that Rice did nothing improper in regard to the allegation.

More recently, the far right has focused on McMaster, alleging he is a leader of the Deep State that is trying to undermine Trump (though without any solid evidence).

“No one voted for H.L McMaster- he is a neocon quisling, helping [Special Counsel Robert] Mueller line up @realDonaldTrump for the take-down,” Stone tweeted Friday.

Chumph Lackey Alex Jones Looking at Felony Time

Supporting the Chumph won’t keep your ass out of jail. The Chumph’s source of conspiracy theories (by way of Russian spies) is Alex Jones “Infowars” site.

Alex is currently in deep soul searching conversations with the Secret Service over threatening to kill a Congressman.

Suggest the GSA convert the Chumph Hotel in DC into a jail, and keep the gaudy trinkets next to the bars.

Then again, 6 years in GenPop…Does have its “re-education” possibilities.

Alex Jones’s threat to Congressman may be a felony

Law enforcement officials are not saying whether they will charge broadcaster Alex Jones, the right-wing conspiracy theorist ally of President Donald Trump, for publicly threatening to “beat” Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and telling Schiff to “fill your hand”—a reference to taking up a pistol.

But, says an attorney with expertise in federal law, Jones’s threats appear to break a federal law, 18 U.S.C. § 115, which states “whoever threatens to assault any a Member of Congress, when s/he is engaged in, or on account of, the performance of official duties, with intent to impede, intimidate, or interfere with such official while engaged in the performance of official duties, or with intent to retaliate against such official, the threat shall be punished by a fine and/or imprisonment of up to 6 years.”

“I do think that the combination of Jones’s comments would amount to a threat,” says Amanda Berman, director of legal affairs with Lawfare, a consortium of experts on national security law. “It seems to be a clear provocation. Ultimately the question would have to be put to a judge or jury, but I think there is a legal basis for a conviction based on Jones’s threat which was made ‘with intent to impede, intimidate or interfere’ with Congressman Schiff’s exercise of his duties as the ranking member of the committee investigating the connection between the Trump campaign/administration and the Russians.”

Schiff likely became a Jones target because he is the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, which is investigating possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia. Schiff has said there is “ more than circumstantial” evidence of collusion between Trump associates and Russia.

Jones is based in Austin, Texas, and Texas state law also forbids threats against public officials.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas did not return calls and emailed requests for comment.

Uploaded March 30 under the headline Watch Live Now! Plan to Assassinate Trump Leaked, the video involved an interview with Republican operative Roger Stone, a sometime Trump adviser. Jones launched into his rant against Schiff while talking with Stone, but the canny operative—who has been accused of having Russia ties himself—did not take the bait, remarking: “I’m not going to go there.”

It’s not clear whether the video was broadcast on the air before being posted to YouTube: If so, that would bring it under the purview of the Federal Communication Commission. Jones’s Infowars program is carried by Genesis Communications Network, which produces 75 shows aired on 830 radio stations.

In addition to threatening to “beat” Schiff, the rant was also explicitly anti-gay. Neither Schiff’s office nor the FCC have returned calls for comment. The CEO and founder of Genesis Communications, Ted Anderson, also has not responded to messages.

The video was brought to Newsweek’ s attention by Media Matters, a progressive PAC that monitors Jones’s shows.

Jones’s broadcast style serves up class resentment and paranoia, and he sometimes literally growls with rage about “globalists.” The Southern Poverty Law Center has called him “the most prolific conspiracy theorist in America.” Among the outlandish ideas he frequently discusses are that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were an inside job and that the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre was a faked false flag operation aimed at taking away Americans’ gun rights. Until he publicly recanted recently, he was also a purveyor of “Pizzagate,” the claim that Hillary Clinton and other Democrats engaged in child abuse in the basement of a popular Washington, D.C. pizza parlor. Acting on that theory, a North Carolina man shot up the restaurant with an assault rifle in December after driving to the nation’s capital to “self-investigate.”

The rise of Trump has not soothed Jones’s excitable tendencies. On the contrary: He has dialed it up a few notches, going so far as urging Trump to use violence against his opponents.

In February the online advertiser AdRoll suspended its relationship with Infowars. Kellogg has also stopped its advertising, citing hate speech. Jones is still supported by Google via its Youtube Partners Program, which helps users connect with advertisers, and other advertisers include Playstation and Trivago.

The full transcript of Jones’s rant against Schiff is below, and the video clip is here.

Warning: persistent profanity.

“I’m not against gay people. OK. I love them, they’re great folks. But Schiff looks like the archetypal cocksucker with those little deer-in-the-headlight eyes and all his stuff. And there’s something about this fairy, hopping around, bossing everybody around, trying to intimidate people like me and you, I want to tell Congressman Schiff and all the rest of them, “Hey listen asshole, quit saying Roger and I’—and I’ve never used cussing in 22 years but the gloves are off—’listen you son of a bitch, what the fuck’s your problem? You want to sit here and say that I’m a goddamn, fucking Russian. You get in my face with that I’ll beat your goddamn ass, you son of a bitch. You piece of shit. You fucking goddamn fucker. Listen fuckhead, you have fucking crossed a line. Get that through your goddamn fucking head. Stop pushing your shit. You’re the people that have fucked this country over and gangraped the shit out of it and lost an election. So stop shooting your mouth off claiming I’m the enemy. You got that you goddamn son of a bitch? Fill your hand.’ I’m sorry, but I’m done. You start calling me a foreign agent, those are fucking fighting words. Excuse me.”

After reviewing the transcript, attorney Berman said it’s clear Jones indicated an intent to harm, under the law. “Regardless of the qualifying language ‘get in my face with that,’ Jones challenges the congressman to arm himself for a physical altercation (‘fill your hand’), and suggests that if the two ever ‘faced off’—which could mean that they were simply in the same room together—the congressman would be assaulted. Jones says that ‘the gloves are off’ and that he [Jones] was the victim of the congressman’s ‘fighting words.’”

Jones has not responded to a request for comment.

Trump…And George Wallace

The Trump campaign and ideology is often compared to that of George Wallace in 1968.

In 1968, George Wallace ran as a third-party candidate against Nixon and Humphrey, on an explicitly segregationist platform. Humphrey had been the main champion of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in the Senate; Nixon, while no civil rights activist, rejected an overtly racist platform. Feeling abandoned by both parties, Southern white racists flocked to Wallace’s cause, winning him the Deep South states of Ark., La., Miss., Ala. and Ga.

In 1972, Governor Wallace returned to the Democratic Party for his third presidential campaign and, under a slightly more moderate platform, was showing promising returns when Arthur Bremer shot him on May 15, 1972. After his recovery, he faded from national prominence and made a poor showing in his fourth and final presidential campaign in 1979. During the 1980s, Wallace’s politics shifted dramatically, especially in regard to race. He contacted civil rights leaders he had so forcibly opposed in the past and asked their forgiveness. In time, he gained the political support of Alabama’s growing African American electorate and in 1983 was elected Alabama governor for the last time with their overwhelming support. During the next four years, the man who had promised segregation forever made more African American political appointments than any other figure in Alabama history.

Bremer’s diary, An Assassin’s Diary, published after his arrest, shows he was motivated in the assassination attempt by a desire for fame, not by political ideology. He had considered President Nixon as an earlier target. He was convicted at trial. On August 4, 1972, Bremer was sentenced to 63 years in prison, later reduced to 53 years. Bremer served 35 years and was released on parole on November 9, 2007.

Messing around with the extremist and racist right is a dangerous game. Some are already calling for Trump’s assassination.

Brad Thor on Glenn Beck: ‘If Congress Won’t Remove’ Trump from White House, ‘What Patriot Will Step Up’

(This is excerpted from the interview. Read the full thing following the link above.)

…BECK: When we’re looking at that, Brad, a lot of people will say he is not going – a lot of people in Washington believe this. A lot of people in the press believe it. Most Americans say, “He is not going to do that.” He is —

THOR: It’s ridiculous. How do they know? Trump is – listen, I —

BECK: Here’s how they say it, here’s how they say it. “Because he’s a businessman who always gets things done, so he knows he has to compromise.

THOR: BS, BS. Trump does not compromise. Trump has the ability to hire and fire people, to hire contractors, to fire contractors. People who work for Trump can work for him or stop working for him. If he gets into the White House, we have to deal with him.

And I’ll tell you, one of the best examples I have seen of who Trump really is – I have been mistakenly comparing him to a potential Mussolini. And about a week ago, Foreign Affairs did an amazing article about the Caudillos, the strong men of Latin America. And that is who Trump is. He is a Chavez. He is a Peron.

That is the type of guy he is and I guarantee you, Glenn, that during his presidency, during his reign if you will – he is going to petition the American people to allow a temporary suspension of the Constitution so he can help America get back on its feet again.

He is a danger to America and I got to ask you a question and this is serious and this could ring down incredible heat on me because I’m about to suggest something very bad. It is a hypothetical I am going to ask as a thriller writer.

With the feckless, spineless Congress we have, who will stand in the way of Donald Trump overstepping his constitutional authority as President? If Congress won’t remove him from office, what patriot will step up and do that if, if, he oversteps his mandate as president, his constitutional-granted authority, I should say, as president.

If he oversteps that, how do we get him out of office? And I don’t think there is a legal means available. I think it will be a terrible, terrible position the American people will be in to get Trump out of office because you won’t be able to do it through Congress.

BECK: I would agree with you on that and I don’t think you actually have the voices we’ve been talking about and we’ve been talking about this off-air for a while. I think the voices like ours go away. I don’t think we are allowed – especially if things, and I believe the economy is going to go to crap, even if Jesus was in office. It’s going to naturally reset. It has to.

THOR: Glenn, under the policies of Trump – again, Foreign Affairs – look up what a Caudillo is, C-A-U-D-I-L-L-O. Trump is promoting a protectionism, a nationalism in economics. It has destroyed Latin America. It has destroyed any hope of democracy down there. He will do the same thing here.

People say Hillary is worse? I hate Hillary Clinton’s guts. Hillary Clinton will not do the damage Trump will do. And people are going to come back and say to you and say to me, “You guys were right. We should have listened to you. And you know what? All of those cowards that are throwing in behind Trump because he’s the Republican nominee and they say “it’s too late to do anything.” Shame on you.

He has not been to the convention yet and guess what? If more of us stood up and we took a stand and said we are not going to vote for him. We’re going to make sure he doesn’t get elected, maybe that egomaniac Trump would want to opt out.

If he doesn’t think he can win the presidency because all of us were standing up against him, maybe he would beg off. Maybe he wouldn’t do it. But you know what? All of these go-along-to-get-along Republicans have fallen in behind him and I say shame on you and to hell with every one of you.

BECK: But really, stop being such a wallflower and tell us what you really — what are you gonna do, Brad, I mean, ’cause we had Austin Peterson on. He’s a libertarian I could vote for. Have you heard Austin Peterson?

THOR: I spoke with him this morning. I spoke with him this morning. I am spending the weekend with — I will not say who, because I promised I would not — but I am spending the weekend with probably one of the greatest conservative thinkers of my generation. And I am spending the weekend talking with him about what it is, because write in Ted Cruz, write in Mickey Mouse–…

Crazy Trump Theory – Ted Cruz Father Helped Oswald Kill JFK!

Trump gets crazier every day. Today’s story from a Tabloid claims that Republican Candidate Ted Cruz’s father was an accomplice who helped Lee Harvey Oswald murder President John F. Kennedy! Cruz’s dad is an established racist right wing pile of shit – but the evidence here is diaphanous at best.

Image of Lee Harvey Oswald (l – in white shirt), and a previously unidentified man (m – white shirt) now claimed to be Ted Cruz Sr in Cuba.

Donald Trump is obsessed with race-baiting conspiracy theories

As Donald Trump reminded the world Tuesday morning, the Republican Party is on the verge of nominating a conspiracy theorist who regularly uses debunked Internet and tabloid rumors to smear his enemies.

In the latest case, Trump seized on a ludicrously thin-sourced National Enquirer story to insinuate Sen. Ted Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, was involved in the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

“His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald’s being, you know, shot,” Trump told Fox News over the phone. “I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous. What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. They don’t even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it.”

Trump’s evidence? A photo, disseminated in fringe circles online and then by the National Enquirer, that conspiracy sleuths claim shows the elder Cruz near Oswald. There is zero evidence the person in question is Rafael Cruz.

“This man is a pathological liar,” Ted Cruz told reporters in response. “He doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of his mouth. And in a pattern that I think is straight out of a psychology textbook, his response is to accuse everyone else of lying.”

Cruz has a point. Even by normal political standards, Trump’s relationship with the truth is abusive: Politifact named his entire campaign its 2015 “Lie of the Year.”

The GOP presidential front-runner, whether by choice or by nature, appears fundamentally unable to distinguish between credible sources and chain e-mails.

Equally significant, though, is that he uses these falsehoods to elevate fringe conspiracy theories and anecdotes that politicians are normally careful to keep far away from mainstream politics. He’s spread discredited claims linking vaccines to autism, for example — a debunked theory that medical officials say has harmed efforts towipe out preventable diseases.

Trump has an online fan base of white nationalists, whom he sometimes retweets to his millions of followers. It’s important to note that many of the most egregious examples of Trump’s false claims have a strong racial and ethnic component.

Tuesday’s JFK story was a perfect example: A smear whose effect was to make Ted Cruz and his Cuban-born father appear strange, foreign, and untrustworthy. There are many others….Read The Rest Here

The Sno’ Ho’s Terrorist Friends…

There were reports of Palin’s connection with Domestic Terrorist groups before she was selected by McCain to run as VP candidate. Those were never fully followed up by the MSM.

Palin’s Hit Men Pals Shafer Cox and the Alaska Militia

The recent arrest of some of the Sno’ Ho’s friends and political supporters for the planned assassination of Judges and elected representatives may open up that can of rancid worms…

“I am not against violence. OK? I am not against spilling blood for freedom,” Cox told a group in Hamilton, Mont., in December 2009. “You know, everybody asks, ‘Would you die for liberty?’ That’s not really the question to ask. The right question to ask is ‘Would you kill for liberty?’ “

“Pallin’ Around with Terrorists”: Palin’s Link to Militia Leader Charged With Conspiracy to Commit Murder

According to sworn testimony Thursday during federal court proceedings in Alaska, two close associates of former Governor Sarah Palin — Joe Miller, a staunch political ally of Palin’s whom she supported in his failed bid for the U.S. Senate; and Palin’s former director of boards and commissions Frank Bailey, more commonly known in Alaska as Palin’s “hatchet man” — were responsible for introducing FBI Informant William “Drop Zone” Fulton to Schaeffer Cox, the leader of the so-called Alaska Peacekeeper Militia.

Cox and two other Fairbanks-based militiamen have been charged with conspiring to kidnap and murder Alaska judges and law enforcement authorities. They have also been charged with violating various federal weapons laws for owning or attempting to purchase machine guns, silencers, hand grenades and other combat-type weapons.

It’s an only-in-Alaska story.

The surreptitious meeting between Fulton, Cox and Palin’s associates took place a scant six months before Palin was selected by John McCain to serve as his running mate on the GOP ticket. Cox, a supporter of Palin’s, was then a Republican candidate for the Alaska House of Representatives, District 7. He finished with 36 percent of the votes.

Cox’s trial, now in its third week, has revealed the bizarre cultural and political milieu in which Palin came to power in Alaska and which eventually catapulted her to a national stage. Read the rest of this entry »

I think the Nazi flag behind Glenn Beck in this video is apropos. Here, Glenn Beck calls for his followers to kill those “radicals in Washington” and “Shoot them in the head”.

Think – maybe it’s time for Mr Beck to take a long “powder” in a Federal Prison…And not the Club Fed.

The Messenger of Hate, Faux News…Blinks

I think when even Roger Ailes realizes the Assassination attempt on Giffords and murder of 6 people, including a 9 year old girl has set off a reaction by the American public that is both visceral and a potential tidal wave against the hate games these guys have been using to control the electorate…

Fox News Prez Orders Staff: Tone It Down

Fox News President Roger Ailes has warned his staff to tone down right-wing rhetoric as America debates whether political vitriol played a role in the violent attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. “I told all of our guys, ‘Shut up, tone it down, make your argument intellectually. You don’t have to do it with bombast,'” Ailes said in an interview with Global Grind. “I hope the other side does that as well,” he added. That’s not to say Ailes is buying the argument that harsh political attacks or Sarah Palin’s map marking Giffords’ district with crosshairs had anything to do with the deadly attack by suspected gunman Jared Lee Loughner.

To get a feel for what it is like on the groound in Arizona – one of the local papers:

Arizona’s enemy: The Collective Consciousness of Hate

Just an overview of the State of Hate in Arizona.

This Graphic ties some of the bits and pieces of what is going on in Arizona together. Like a lot of places, you have a cozy relationship between the Republican Party, Republican Candidates, and the Tea Party with fringe hate groups including the neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and the splinter racist Minuteman Militias.

What has happened in Arizona is that these groups – sometimes directly in the statehouse as legislative aides and in writing laws have managed to get a voice in the legislature and Governors Mansion, working directly for Republican legislators. This is a little different than in the South where Republican Legislators sneak out to a Council of Conservative Citizens Barbeque or confab every year to press the flesh with part of the base – but otherwise try and keep the white sheets away from the state house.

Here is an article about one of the leading right-wing hate-talk radio personalities in Arizona – John Justice –  NY Times reports on Jon Justice and hate radio in Tucson

Come on out and shoot a machine gun to “target” Gabrielle Giffords? Flashback: Giffords Opponent Had M16 Shooting Event, ‘Help Remove Gabrielle Giffords From Office’

And lastly this –

Hate Speech, the Right’s Magic Bullet

…The fact is, it has been the right’s goal to poison our political discourse for years. Remember the notorious “GOPAC Memo” back in the 1990s, created for the Republicans’ leadership training institute and endorsed by Newt Gingrich? Titled “Language: A Key Mechanism of Control,” in it, candidates are instructed in what words to use when defining their opponents (i.e., liberals). “These are powerful words that can create a clear and easily understood contract,” the memo said. “Apply these to the opponent, their record, proposals, and their party” (in other words, demonize them).

Among them: intolerant … lie … pathetic … radical … sick … steal … traitors. Gingrich and his allies deliberately set out to employ toxic language against their opponents, and are still doing it. They will say anything to get a vote, especially now that the angriest and most irrational so often make up a majority of those who bother to go to the polls. This kind of talk is part and parcel of their strategy, and no matter what motivated the Tucson killings, it needs to stop.

Their lock-and-load rhetoric is reinforced by the rambling ranks of those who go on the Internet to spout any conspiracy theory, distortion of history or outright lie that helps them make it through the night. Add, too, the men and women of radio and television, the Limbaugh’s, Beck’s, and their ilk who use the airwaves as a cudgel, battering viewers and listeners with the certainty of their illogic, their thinly veiled messages of bigotry and meretricious embrace of Constitution, religion, flag and family.

All of them will huff and puff that this is an isolated incident by a madman that cannot be blamed on their bombast and bluster. But let’s call it out for what it is; let’s debate what in our gut we know to be true: even if it was not their intent, it’s likely the words of the right on radio and TV and in the books they publish spurred on the man who killed two and wounded six in a Knoxville, Kentucky, church in July 2008, and the murderer of George Tiller, one of the few doctors in America who still performed late-term abortions for women with problem pregnancies whose health was at stake from life-threatening complications, or whose infants would be born dead or dying. Their invective, whether inadvertently or not, has encouraged the vandalism and threats faced by so many of our candidates and elected officials, including the now desperately wounded Congresswoman Giffords. Her shooting, and the death and wounding of so many who came to meet with her, are just the latest example of ideologically-motivated bloodshed.

Another Tea Bagger Domestic Terrorist

At some point the government needs to start prosecuting the people who are egging on and giving this sort of hate and threats legitimacy. Perhaps it is time to start taking a hard look at Mr Beck as a criminal accomplice…

US Senator Patty Murray of Washington

Washington Man Charged with Threatening to Kill Sen. Patty Murray

A Washington state man was charged Tuesday with threatening to kill Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) because of her “yes” vote on health care reform legislation.

Prosecutors said Charles Alan Wilson, 64, left more than a dozen threatening messages at Murray’s office after the measure passed the Senate March 21, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported.

“I want to …. kill you,” Wilson said in one message, according to court documents.

“Kill the …. senator! Hang the …. senator! I hope somebody puts a …. bullet between your …. eyes,” he said in another call.

His arrest came after an FBI agent called the suspect, posing as a representative from a group trying to get health care reform repealed. Wilson agreed to have that call recorded and agents compared it to the messages left for Murray.

He allegedly told the undercover agents that he regularly carries a gun and that he had a concealed weapons permit, Politico reported.

Wilson was charged with threatening a federal official. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and fined as much as $250,000.

Uncle Tom Alert! The HNIC to the Defense!

Thomas L, Friedman recently wrote an OP-ED piece in the NYT entitled Where Did We Go, discussing the chilling similarities between the current status of right-wing efforts to de-legitimize President Obama and the same efforts against Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin leading to his assassination…

Kennedy Assasination

I hate to write about this, but I have actually been to this play before and it is really disturbing.

I was in Israel interviewing Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin just before he was assassinated in 1995. We had a beer in his office. He needed one. I remember the ugly mood in Israel then — a mood in which extreme right-wing settlers and politicians were doing all they could to delegitimize Rabin, who was committed to trading land for peace as part of the Oslo accords. They questioned his authority. They accused him of treason. They created pictures depicting him as a Nazi SS officer, and they shouted death threats at rallies. His political opponents winked at it all.

And in so doing they created a poisonous political environment that was interpreted by one right-wing Jewish nationalist as a license to kill Rabin — he must have heard, “God will be on your side” — and so he did.

Others have already remarked on this analogy, but I want to add my voice because the parallels to Israel then and America today turn my stomach: I have no problem with any of the substantive criticism of President Obama from the right or left. But something very dangerous is happening. Criticism from the far right has begun tipping over into delegitimation and creating the same kind of climate here that existed in Israel on the eve of the Rabin assassination.

Notice two things about Friedman’s piece:

  1. He limits his criticism to “far right”, and “extreme right”.
  2. He says nothing about race.

Along comes Uncle Mikkie, stumbling all over himself to suck conservative weenie, and defend his conservative Massas – even though the “far right” and “extreme right” make up (theoretically) only a small segment of the Party his HNIC for – Read the rest of this entry »

Here We Go Again – Angry White Men

No, today’s culture warriors are more reminiscent of another famous type in recent American politics: the Angry White Male. This was the archetype of the political force that rocked Bill Clinton’s presidency during the 1994 congressional midterm elections, in which Republicans took control of the House of Representatives and Senate. The catchphrase was based on the huge shift by white men to the Republican column in that election; just 39% voted for Democratic House candidates that year, a 10-point dip from the 1992 election. The anger was something more intangible, but also quite real: storm clouds of bile filling the conservative talk radio airwaves. Most memorably, perhaps, in the autumn of 1994, the Watergate-conspirator-turned-talk-radio-host G Gordon Liddy advised a listener worried about intrusions by federal agents to “shoot for the head”. Wee-Weenie Syndrome – Needing a Gun to Go To Church, a PTA Meeting… Or to See The President

Here is a moron who came “strapped” to the President’s Town Hall Meeting yesterday in New Hampshire, carrying a threatening sign – “Now is the time to water the tree of liberty”. Those of you familiar with Thomas Jefferson’s quotes would know that the Tree of Liberty is “watered” with blood.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Quite frankly, when I first saw this on the news, I was voting for the Secret Service to remove this moron from the gene pool with a 7.62 between the beady eyes…

Not surprisingly, from the same group of folks, this:

A swastika was found Tuesday painted on a sign outside Rep. David Scott’s district office, an act the Georgia Democrat said reflects an increasingly hateful and racist debate over health care and should serve as a reminder for people to tone down their rhetoric.

Scott’s staff arrived at his Smyrna, Ga., office Tuesday morning to find the Nazi graffiti emblazoned on a sign bearing the lawmaker’s name. The vandalism occurred roughly a week after Scott was involved in a contentious argument over health care at a community meeting.

Scott, who is black, said he also has received mail in recent days that used N-word references to him, and that characterized President Barack Obama as a Marxist.

“We have got to make sure that the symbol of the swastika does not win, that the racial hatred that’s bubbling up does not win this debate,” Scott said in a telephone interview. “There’s so much hatred out there for President (Barack) Obama.”
