‘Using my white privilege for the right reasons’: Florida woman justifies brutal beatdown of racist woman

The Florida woman seen cursing and beating an elder (sic) female in a hotel lobby after the victim reportedly made a racist comment about Haitians, has claimed that she was standing up for minorities by using her “white privilege.”

The viral video, which was posted to Facebook by a user named Austin, showed Colleen Dagg launching herself at the woman and punching her to the ground while cursing her.

According to Austin, “Ok so lady in the blue sundress said something super racist about how ‘you know these Haitians’ and sis in the gray was not having it. She then lied to the police and said the other girl started it, when everything was caught on video.”

Following the fight, police were reportedly dispatched to the hotel.

After the video went went viral, Dagg took to Twitter to give her side of the story.

“This is a young country built on racism,” Dagg wrote. “Black people have been disenfranchised for over 250 years. The faster white people accept and validate the truth, the closer we’ll come to a place of peace and understanding.

“Fighting racism is dependent on me using my white privilege for the right reasons,” she added.

“The white woman tried to use her white privilege on me, the fact that I am white too seemed to have slipped her mind,” she wrote, adding, “If you see it, say something.”

Charities dump Trump: More than a dozen groups cancel fundraisers at Mar-a-Lago

So far 16 charities have pulled out of holding their events at Trump’s club

Since Donald Trump blamed “both sides” for the deadly violence in Charlottesville last weekend, 16 charities have canceled their events at his Mar-a-Lago golf club.

On Friday, The American Red Cross said it nixed their plan to host their annual International Red Cross ball at the Palm Beach resort because of Trump’s response to the events in Charlottesville were controversial and distressing to their supporters.

“The American Red Cross has decided we cannot host our annual fundraising event at Mar-a-Lago, as it has increasingly become a source of controversy and pain for many of our volunteers, employees and supporters”, the Red Cross said in a statement.

“We believe this action will allow us to continue to put the focus on our lifesaving mission and the people we serve. The Red Cross provides assistance without discrimination to all people in need, regardless of nationality, race, religious beliefs, or political opinions, and we must be clear and unequivocal in our defense of that principle.”

Five other charities have cancelled their events at the club in the past 24 hours, including the Cleveland Clinic — the leading academic hospital, the American Cancer Society, and the Friends of Magen David Adom, the Israeli Red Cross, according to an updated list from the Palm Beach Daily News. In addition, the Salvation Army, the Autism Project of Palm Beach County and Susan G Komen have all cancelled their events, per the Washington Post.

Entire membership of Trump’s arts council quits over Charlottesville remarks

Another presidential advisory committee is breaking up.

Actor Kal Penn, artist Chuck Close and the entire membership of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities have announced their resignation. A letter dated Friday, and signed by 16 of 17 committee members, cited the “false equivalence” of President Donald Trump‘s comments about last weekend’s “Unite the Right” gathering in Charlottesville, Virginia. Trump has blamed “many sides” for the demonstrations that left an anti-racism activist dead.

The White House said Trump had already decided against renewing the advisory committee for budgetary reasons.

“Ignoring your hateful rhetoric would have made us complicit in your words and actions,” the letter reads. “Supremacy, discrimination, and vitriol are not American values. Your values are not American values. We must be better than this. We are better than this. If this is not clear to you, then we call on you to resign your office, too.”

The only member whose name did not appear was Broadway director George C. Wolfe. Representatives for Wolfe at Creative Arts Agency said Friday that he was also resigning and that his name would be added to the letter, which seemed to contain a hidden political message beyond the ones stated openly. The first initials of the letter’s six main paragraphs spell out “r-e-s-i-s-t.”

Kellyanne Conway Gets Her CNN Interview At the White House…And Jake Tapper Takes Her to the Woodshed!

Well…The gloves finally came off at CNN yesterday, and it wasn’t pretty. Chumph’s serial liar Kellyanne Conway got a taste of what a real interview is like – getting called on her lies.

Conway just discovered what happens when the media takes the gloves off.

WATCH: Jake Tapper takes down Kellyanne Conway for the White House

In response to the White House’s declaration of war to CNN, Jake Tapper takes the gloves off

On Monday, legendary news anchor Dan Rather singled out CNN’s Jake Tapper as today’s journalistic standard. On Tuesday, Tapper showed off his talent in a 25-minute, wide-ranging showdown with White House senior counselor Kellyanne Conway.

After Conway fabricated a terror attack — the so-called Bowling Green massacre — to justify a constitutionally-questionable travel ban, Tapper confidently held the high ground in the interview.

“You cited a massacre that didn’t happen. You said the media didn’t cover it,” Tapper said.

“What I mean is the media didn’t cover the masterminds,” Conway responded.

Throughout the heated interview, Tapper was determined to hold Conway and her boss accountable for their words, perhaps inspired by President Trump labeling CNN “fake news” and his denigration of the media at large.

“I guess the problem is, it is very difficult to hear criticisms of the media for making mistakes, and certainly the media makes mistakes,” Tapper said at one point during the interview. “But it’s very difficult to hear those criticisms from a White House that has such little regard, day in, day out, for facts, for truth.”

The host of CNN’s “The Lead” was clearly offended by the disparaging comments coming out of the White House. Conway argued that the media was unfairly covering the new administration, focusing on the negative stories while ignoring its scant successes. But Tapper was having none of that.

“What we’re talking about is the fact that the White House is waging war on people who are providing information, sometimes risking their lives to do so, saying that nothing we say is true. All of it is fake. I would much rather be talking to you about veterans issues,” Tapper said. “But instead, every day, there are these strains of attack and strains of falsehoods coming from the White House.”

Ohhhhh… That’s Going to Leave a Mark! Dem Congressman Unloads on Trump

Why don’t you tell us how you really feel?

Democratic Rep. Filemon Vera blasts Trump in explicit letter

Texas Democratic Rep. Filemon Vela was blunt and explicit in an open letter to presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump on Monday.

“Mr. Trump, you’re a racist and you can take your border wall and shove it up your ass,” Vela wrote.

Vela, who represents a district located right on the Mexican border, was extremely cirtical of Trump’s rhetoric towards Latinos – especially his latest broadside against the Hispanic federal judge presiding over a case involving Trump University.

His fiery letter was filled with seemingly pent-up frustration at Trump’s rise.

“Your position with respect to the millions of undocumented Mexican workers who now live in this country is hateful, dehumanizing, and frankly shameful,” the letter read. “The vast number of these individuals work in hotels, restaurants, construction sites, and agricultural fields across the United States. If I had to guess, your own business enterprises either directly or indirectly employ more of these workers than most other businesses in our country.”

And in what has become a mostly bipartisan effort, Vela chastised Trump for his comments on Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over one of the Trump University fraud cases. Trump has said Curiel’s Mexican heritage should bar him from overseeing the case since Trump wants to build a wall to keep undocumented immigrants out.

“You have now descended to a new low in your racist attack of an American jurist, U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel, by calling him a ‘Mexican; simply because he ruled against you in a case in which you are being accused of fraud, among other accusations,” Vela wrote. “Judge Curiel is one of 124 Americans of Hispanic descent who have served this country with honor and distinction as federal district judges. In fact, the first Hispanic American ever named to the federal bench in the United States, Judge Reynaldo G. Garza, was also from Brownsville, Texas, and was appointed by President John F. Kennedy in 1961.”

Holder Does a Smackdown on Republican Moron

Seems the only black man Republicans hate worse than President Obama is Attorney General Eric Holder…

They probably ought to stick to picking on Obama, who can’t or won’t fight back…

Because picking on Holder is rapidly becoming a losing proposition. And then there is the case of the same type of operation being conducted by the ATF under the Bushit called “Wide Receiver”…

To which not a single Republican objected.

GOP Senator Cornyn demands AG Holder resign, Holder gives epic smack-down response

Yesterday, during his ninth appearance before Congress regarding the “Fast and Furious” debacle (read more about that HERE), SenatorJohn Cornyn, Republican member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, asked Attorney General Eric Holder to resign, saying he hoped President Obama would replace him.

Cornyn: In short, you’ve violated the public trust in my view and, by failing and refusing to perform the duties of your office.

It’s more with sorrow than regret, than with anger, that I would say that you leave me no alternative but to join those who call upon you to resign your office.

Americans deserve an attorney general who will be honest with them. They deserve an attorney general who will uphold the basic standards of politiical independence and accountabilty. You’ve proven time and time again, sadly, that you are unwilling to do so. The American people deserve better. They deserve an attorney general who is accountable and independent. They deserve an attorney general who puts justice before politics.

It’s my sincere hope that President Obama will replace you with someone who is up to that challenge.

[Chairman Patrick Leahy offers a few remarks of support for Holder and then allows him to respond.]

Holder: With all due respect, senator, there is so much that is factually wrong with the premises that you started your statement with, it’s almost breathtaking in its inaccuracy, but, I’ll simply leave it at that.

You know, we want to talk about Fast and Furious, this is, I guess, what, the ninth time?— [turning to an aide who nods “yes”]—this is now the ninth time that I have answered questions before a congressional committee about “Fast and Furious.”

If you want to talk about Fast and Furious, I’m the attorney general that put an end to the misguided tactics that were used in Fast and Furious. An attorney general whom I suppose you would hold in higher regard was briefed on these kinds of tactics in an operation called “Wide Receiver” and did nothing to stop them. Nothing. Three hundred guns, at least, “walked” in that instance.

I’m also the attorney general who called on an inspector general to look into this matter, to investigate this matter. I’m also the attorney general who made personnel changes at ATF and in the U.S. Attorneys office that was involved, have overseen the changes of processes and procedures within ATF to make sure that this doesn’t happen ever again.

So I don’t have any intention of resigning. I heard the White House press officer say yesterday that the president has absolute confidence in me. I don’t have any reason to believe that in fact is not the case.

And in terms of, you know, what is it that we have turned over to Congress in this regard, let’s put something on the record here. … We have collected data from 240 custodians, we have processed millions of electronic records, looked at over 140,000 documents, turned over 7,600 pages. Over the course of 46 separate productions, we have made available people from the department at the highest levels to be interviewed.

And I’ve also said, indicated, I guess, earlier in my testimony, to the extent that all of that is not enough to satisfy the concerns that have been raised in the House committee, I am willing to sit down and talk about the provision of more materials. I have sent letters in that regard, the deputy attorney general has sent letters in that regard, and have not had responses. Which leads me to believe that the desire here is not for an accommodation but for a political point-making. And that is the kind of thing that, you know, you and and your side, I guess, have the ability to do if that’s what you want to do. It is the kind of thing that I think turns people off about Washington. While we have very serious problems, we still have this political gamesmanship.

Cornyn: The problem we have is that you won’t allow Congress to do its job when it comes to oversight and you thwart a legitimate investigation into programs like Fast and Furious.
