Republican Elmer Fudds Allow Killing Hibernating Bears and Wolf Cubs

Manly (not) Republicans have made it legal for “hunters” in Alaska to kill hibernating bears in their caves, as well as courageously slaughter wold puppies in their dens. All with submachine guns. And in the case of wolves, safely ensconced in their helicopters. Yeah, out chickenshit two toots little Johnson wee-publicans are too cowardly to face bears and wolves which are awake or on their own ground, even armed with M-16’s and AK 47s!

Congress Just Made It Officially Legal To Kill Hibernating Bears

Is it technically hunting if your prey is sleeping?

Hunters in Alaska can now track and kill hibernating bears thanks to a U.S. House and Senate resolution rolling back Obama-era regulations against the practice.

President Donald Trump signed the bill into law on Monday, which rolled back Alaska’s ban on killing the vulnerable bears, along with wolf cubs in dens. It also allows for hunters to target the animals from helicopters.

The Republican-sponsored legislation impacts 76.8 million acres of federally protected national preserves across Alaska.

Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) took to the Senate floor last month to denounce the previous rule that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued in August.

Murkowski called it “bad for Alaska, bad for hunters, bad for our native peoples, bad for America,” and a “direct attack on states’ rights.”

In Sullivan’s argument, the lawmaker said the change was for Alaskans “who value hunting as a deep part of their culture.”

The Humane Society of the United States condemned the rollback.

“What the House did today should shock the conscience of every animal lover in America,” said Humane Society CEO Wayne Pacelle in a statement. “If the Senate and president concur, we’ll see wolf families killed in their dens [and] bears chased down by planes.”

Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), who introduced the measure, argued that states’ rights were being infringed upon by the rule.

“We have to recognize this is not about the little polar bears, the little grizzly bears or wolves on television, this is about the state’s right to manage — not allowing the federal government to do so,” Young said in testimony in February. “We want to be able to take and manage our fish and game for the sustainable yield — so that our fish and game will be there forever.”

Brett Hartl, government affairs director at the Center for Biological Diversity, said killing predators in such a “cruel, unsportsmanlike fashion is outrageous.”

“Senate Republicans have shown just how mean-spirited and petty they are with today’s vote,” he said in a statement following the passed measure in March.

Young said that if Alaskans weren’t happy with the bill, they should stop re-electing him.

Sanders Wins Big in Idaho, Washington, and Alaska

Bernie Sanders has won big in 3 of the 4 States voting in the Democratic Primary this weekend. He also may well take Hawaii, making it a sweep this week.

Bernie Sanders Wins Washington State and Alaska; Hawaii Democrats Are Also Voting

Senator Bernie Sanders handily defeated Hillary Clinton on Saturday in theWashington State and Alaska caucuses, infusing his underdog campaign with critical momentum and bolstering his argument that the race for the Democratic nomination is not a foregone conclusion.

Mr. Sanders found a welcome tableau in the largely white and liberal electorates of the Pacific Northwest, where just days after routing Mrs. Clinton in Idaho he repeated the feat in Washington. With a handful of precincts still reporting, he was leading Mrs. Clinton by more than 40 percentage points. He performed even better in Alaska, winning 82 percent of the vote.

Washington, with 101 delegates in play, was a vital state for Mr. Sanders, whose prospects of capturing the nomination dimmed after double-digit losses to Mrs. Clinton across the South and weak showings in delegate-rich Ohio, Florida and North Carolina this month.

At a rally in Madison, Wis., late Saturday afternoon, Mr. Sanders assured more than 8,000 supporters that his victories had cleared a viable path to the nomination. “We knew from Day 1 that politically we were going to have a hard time in the Deep South,” Mr. Sanders said. “But we knew things were going to improve when we headed west.”

oting the “huge” voter turnout — in Washington, Democratic Party officials estimated more than 200,000 people participated on Saturday, close to the record set in 2008 — he told the crowd, “We are making significant inroads into Secretary Clinton’s lead.”

The victories in Washington and Alaska, which awarded 16 delegates on Saturday, slightly narrow the gulf with Mrs. Clinton in the quest for the 2,382 delegates needed to clinch the Democratic nomination. As of Saturday evening, Mrs. Clinton had roughly 280 more so-called pledged delegates, who are awarded based on voting, and 440 more superdelegates — party leaders and elected officials — than Mr. Sanders.

National Enquirer – Palin Had a Thing for Black Men

The British Tabloids, world renowned for salacious stories, loose fact checking,  and edgy reporting…

Have nothing on the American Tabloids!

Now the National Enquirer is reporting that the Sno’ Ho’ – AKA Sarah Palin had a “fetish” for black men. (Maybe that’s why Todd kept her up there in Alaska, where there are only 6 black men in the entire state?)

The MILF Tea Party media personality, who pretended to be a politician – has indeed entered the salacious world of the wannabe starlets whose only claim to fame is their fading looks and titillating, often self destructive adventures. Soft Porn…Indeed.

The Porn industry may have to resuscitate “Long Dong Silver”, of Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill infamy for what has got to be a blockbuster, outselling Palin’s movie by millions of eyeballs.

Publishing sources familiar with the contents of author Joe McGinniss’ highly-anticipated book “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin” have revealed shocking secrets that will impact her decision to enter the 2012 presidential race.
In the book, which will be published on September 20th, McGinniss claims Sarah had a steamy interracial hookup with basketball stud GLEN RICE less than a year before she eloped with her husband Todd.
Sarah hooked up with the NBA great, then a 6-foot-8 junior at the University of Michigan when he was playing in a college basketball tournament in Alaska in 1987, the book says. At the time, Sarah, just out of college, was working as a sports reporter for the Anchorage TV station KTUU.
A publishing source told The ENQUIRER that McGinniss claims Sarah had a “fetish” for black men at the time and he quotes a friend as saying Sarah had “hauled (Rice’s) ass down.”
A source unrelated to the book told The ENQUIRER, Todd was very much in the picture at the time and the couple married just nine months later.
In the book, McGinniss quotes Rice as confirming the one-night stand.
According to the publishing source, McGinniss confirms an ENQUIRER exclusive – published in our Oct. 6, 2008 print issue – that Sarah carried on an extramarital affair with Todd’s business partner Brad Hanson, and Todd dissolved their snowmobile dealership after he learned about the affair.McGinniss  writes in the book that the affair lasted six months and he fuels rumors that the couple’s marriage has been on the rocks for decades.
In another bombshell, the publishing source says, McGinniss writes that both Sarah and Todd dabbled in cocaine use. “The Rogue” claims that before Palin became Alaska governor she was seen snorting cocaine off an overturned 55-gallon oil drum while snowmobiling with pals.
“Stuff Like That” from Quincy,  with Chaka Khan, Valerie Simpson, and the recently departed Nick Ashford seems apropos with that “Taste of forbidden fruit” line…

The Sno’ Ho’s Fake Hunting Trip

What’s with these Republican politicians? First we have Dick Cheney shooting his hunting companion – taking a shot no real hunter would have ever even considered even drawing a bead on…

Now the Sno’ Ho’ killing a Caribou for political points. Actually after missing 4-5 shots – it’s more than likely somebody else shot the Caribou, and they edited it in. Even more suspicious is the fact that the Caribou didn’t spook and run away after having a gun go off next to it. I mean…If the game stands there, and lets you shoot at it all day like a paper target…

That’s target practice… Not hunting.

Seems the hunting crowd is miffed at the fact that the Sno’ Ho’ broke a few cardinal safety rules, and demonstrated an utter unfamiliarity with the skills, which she supposedly has been dong since she was a little kid.

What’s wrong with this picture?

1. A “Varmit Rifle” isn’t something you’d normally take to hunt game the size of a Caribou.

2. Either the rifle isn’t “sighted in”, or the Sno’ Ho’ can’t shoot for beans. And yes, shooting uphill does cause the shooter to shoot high, although having the target silhouetted against the sky is the easiest target there is. Any real hunter makes sure their equipment is in good functioning order before the hunt – and that includes sighting in the rifle. Read the rest of this entry »

The Sno’ Ho’ Show Suffers Audience Drop

It appears that the Sno’ Ho’ Show on TLC, has a major audience drop down to it’s basic viewer demographic…

Horny white men over 60.

Sarah Palin's Alaska...Rooting for the Bear to Have White Meat for Dinner

Sarah Palin’s Alaska Ratings Plummet

It seems mostly old people are watching Sarah Palin’s Alaska. Ratings for the show’s second installment fell 40%, CBS News reports. While the premiere set a record for TLC with 5 million viewers, only 3 million came back for more. Of those, only 885,000 were in the advertiser-friendly 18-49 age bracket. The median age of viewers was 57, which is 15 years older than TLC’s average.

But TLC says it anticipated the drop, since the show was going up against the NFL’s Sunday night games and the American Music Awards. “We are very happy with the ongoing strength of Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” said a network spokesman, noting thatConan saw a similar drop off.

Thrilla’ in Wasilla!

It appears that the Republican Party is imploding, just before their hugely hyped prediction of a Midterm election victory…

The War in Alaska…

Throwing Nothing But Right Hooks...

Lisa Murkowski, defying Sarah Palin, announces write-in bid for Alaska Senate against Joe Miller

Three’s a party in Alaska.

Weeks after losing the Republican primary to Joe Miller in one of the Tea Party coups of the 2010 election, Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski has announced that she will run in the general election as a write-in candidate, setting off a competitive three-way race for the seat.

Murkowski made the announcement to supporters at an Anchorage convention center on Friday.

“The gloves are off,” Murkowski said at the event, adding that Alaskans deserve a choice between the “extremist views” of Joe Miller and “inexperience” of Democratic candidate Scott McAdams.

Miller, a slightly bearded political neophyte, is strongly backed by both the Tea Party and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

A Caribou Barbie Roast in Alaska

Folks in Alaska are getting increasingly disenchanted with the wayward wingdizzie – the Sno’ Ho’. The President of the AFL-CIO in Alaska is giving a speech today which includes the following:

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka is expected to blast Sarah Palin in a speech set to be delivered Thursday in Anchorage, Alaska.

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka is expected to blast Sarah Palin in a speech set to be delivered Thursday in Anchorage, Alaska.

What is this crazy magnet that’s pulling people to the right? I mean, look at your former governor….

Who is she, anyway?

Sarah Palin?

She used to have a job, your governor…. You knew her…. Or thought you did…. I know I thought I did. She seemed like a decent person, an outdoorswoman. Her husband’s a steelworker. She seemed to take some OK stands for working families.

And then things got weird. After she tied herself to John McCain and they lost, she blew off Alaska. I guess she figured she’d trade up…shoot for a national stage. Alaska was too far from the FOX TV spotlight.

I bet most of you, on a clear day, can see her hypocrisy from your house.

I think Sarah Palin quit so she wouldn’t have to be accountable… so she wouldn’t have a record that could be scrutinized…

Instead, she’s hanging out on cable TV, almost a parody of herself, coming out with conspiracy theories about Obama and his “death panels….” Talking about “the real America.” Talking about building schools in “our neighboring country of Afghanistan.” Writing speech notes to herself on her hands. Former Alaska Senator Ted Stevens Killed in Plane Crash

Former Alaska US Senator Ted Stevens was killed in a plane crash last night. Stevens was the longest serving member of elected Alaska Congressmen and Senators to serve in Washington, prior to being voted out after being convicted on  charges of corruption. Stevens survived a crash in 1978 which killed his wife, Ann. Condolences to Mr. Steven s family, and the people of Alaska he served for so many years.

Former Senator Ted Stevens Is in a Plane Crash in Alaska

Former U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens survived the plane crash that killed his wife in 1978.

Former US Senator (Alaska) Ted Stevens

Rescue crews from the Alaska Air National Guard and theUnited States Coast Guard arrived on the scene more than 10 hours after the crash, hampered by rain and fog in an area of mountains and lakes north of Bristol Bay.

The European aerospace firm EADS said that the chief executive of its North American operations, Sean O’Keefe, 54, a former NASA administrator, was also on board.

UPDATE – Keith Cowing NASAWatch.com: 2:22 PM EDT: According to a family source both Sean O’Keefe and his son Kevin than survived the plane crash but they are both rather banged up.

The family of Mr. Stevens issued a statement on Tuesday morning that expressed concern but said nothing about the former senator’s fate:

“The Ted Stevens family offers their prayers for all those on board and for their families. We thank the brave men and women who are working to reach the site. We continue to work with the Alaska National Guard, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Alaska State Troopers. We thank everyone for their support and prayers.” The crash occurred about 320 miles southwest of Anchorage before 8 p.m. Alaska Daylight time, the National Transportation Safety Boardsaid. Another plane spotted the downed aircraft around 7 p.m. and notified authorities, the National Guard said.

Mr. Stevens, 86, was among the group flying to a lodge near Lake Aleknagik, where he often spent summers fishing. It was unclear why he and the other passengers were headed there.

The N.T.S.B. said that the crash was about 10 miles northwest of Lake Aleknagik, and the aircraft was a DeHavilland DHC-3T. The single-engine, high-wing airplane plane is owned by GCI, the Alaskan telecommunications provider, as is the lodge.

The plane went undetected by radar, because in the area where it went down, about 20 miles north of Dillingham, there is no radar coverage below about 4,000 feet, according to one air traffic control expert familiar with the area. The expert asked not to be identified because the N.T.S.B. is in charge of releasing information. The flight was under visual flight rules, two people familiar with the area said, meaning that it was not being directed by air traffic controllers. The N.T.S.B. said it was sending a team of investigators to the crash site, even though it said it did not know the identity of those on board. The agency does not ordinarily send a board member from Washington to the crashes of private or corporate planes. Mr. Stevens was the longest-serving Republican senator until he lost his bid for a seventh term in 2008 after he was found guilty of corruption charges; the case was later thrown out because of prosecutorial misconduct.

His stature in Alaska seemed to have remained virtually intact despite the scandal, and recently he had been campaigning with the state’s Republican senator, Lisa Murkowski. Sen. Murkowski issued a statement asking Alaskans to pray for those aboard the aircraft.

Mr. Stevens survived another plane crash on Dec. 4, 1978, that killed five of seven people on board, including his first wife, Ann. He was traveling on a Lear jet that crashed when landing at Anchorage International Airport, which was renamed Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in honor of the senator in 2000.

Before that 1978 crash, Mr. Stevens reportedly spoke of a premonition that he would die in a plane crash, a fate that is not unknown to many in Alaska who travel the vast state in small planes.

The Sno’ Ho’s Freaky Resignation as Governor

Sarah Palin’s announcement of her resignation as Governor. This is strange political theater, as Palin is gasping out her resignation. The nature of the speech, her uncharacteristic nervousness, her allusion to “politics of destruction”, and demeanor all scream that there is another pretty major shoe to drop here.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Rumors have been circulating in Alaska the past 2 months that there is a major criminal indictment pending. According to several sources, including Brad Blog, MSNBC, and the Post Chronicle Federal Investigators may be looking at a Ted Stevens like scandal involving embezzling funds meant for the Wasillla Sports Complex to build Palin’s house. Since there has been no formal announcement by the Feds – this still is in the area of conjecture.

The embezzlement scandal revolves around the large, $12.5 million sports complex that Sarah Palin pushed through during her last term as Mayor in Wasilla. Read the rest of this entry »
