Uncle Ben Carson Recognizes His Limitations – Refuses Position in Trump Admin

Wow…I honestly didn’t think self-introspection would win over ego. Might just be that even Uncle Ben sees the coming Train Wreck.

BTW Dr Carson – If being a christian means support racist asses like Trump and his fellow republican gestapo…Sign me up for Islam, or Hinduism, or…

Carson not interested in serving in Trump administration

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has told President-elect Donald Trumpthat he isn’t interested in serving as secretary of Health and Human Services, a Carson ally confirmed to The Hill on Tuesday.
Business manager and close friend Armstrong Williams said Carson won’t join the incoming Trump administration and would only serve as an unofficial adviser.
Circa on Tuesday reported that Carson had been offered the position, citing Williams. But Williams told The Hill that no specific offer had been made.
“Dr. Carson was never offered a specific position, but everything was open to him,” Williams told The Hill in a phone call.
“Dr. Carson feels he has no government experience, he’s never run a federal agency. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency.”
The renowned neurosurgeon was one of Trump’s first primary opponents to jump on board his campaign. He was viewed as one of the likely picks to lead the agency that will work to roll back ObamaCare in the new administration.
Reports also pegged him as a candidate for secretary of Education.
Earlier this month, Trump described Carson as a “brilliant physician” and said he hoped Carson “will be very much involved with my administration.”
But Williams said Carson would only advise the president-elect unofficially.
Carson has been looking for ways to be influential outside of government, including his My Faith Votes, a group that looks to motivate Christian voters.

Trump Would Hire Carson for His Administration!

Yup – The Donald has said it! He has in mind a place for Ben Carson in his Administration…

Trump: Would ‘Absolutely’ Hire Carson For My Administration

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump said Friday he’d “absolutely” hire another top-tier candidate, Ben Carson, to be part of his administration, but he didn’t say in what position the retired neurosurgeon, who is in second place behind him in the polls, would end up.

“I would love to have that,” he told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” show, pointing out that he doesn’t know if Carson would be a tough negotiator because he “would say it’s not his wheelhouse.”

But in “certain elements of administration,” Carson would be “very good,” Trump said.

He described Carson as being “a nice man” with whom he has a “good relationship.”

“I’m sure he’ll hit me,” said Trump. “So far, we’ve had a good relationship.”

Also, he said he believes Carson is qualified to be the president, because “if he’s running and if he wins, he’s qualified; that’s the way the system works,” but Carson or anyone else will not “be able to do the job I’m going to do.”

The polling has been “amazing” for both men, Trump said, and when you add the numbers together, “in some cases you’re up to 55 to 60 percent.”

Yep, Uncle Ben will look downright spiffy!

Or perhaps a leadership position…

Doug Wilder’s Advice to President Obama

The following is a synopsis of an article written by Former Virginia Governor, Richmond Mayor Doug Wilder. I’ve cut out some of it – mostly to do with Doug’s misgivings about Tim Kaine. What Doug is right and wrong about, in my opinion, below –

Governor Wilder and President Obama

Doug Wilder: Obama needs a staff shakeup

During the 2008 campaign, I strongly endorsed Barack Obama for president. I did so early, when many Democratic leaders — including many prominent African-American politicians — believed the safe bet was to back then-front-runner Hillary Clinton. I backed Obama not because of skin color but because he convincingly made the case that he stood for “change” that this country needs. Now, across many fronts — in public policy and politics alike — people have rightly been questioning whether the change has been for the better. Unfortunately, the answer so far is clear: not yet.

I still believe Obama can stand for positive change. But first he must make some hard changes of his own.  The need is becoming more obvious by the day: He must overhaul his own team, replacing the admittedly brilliant advisers who helped elect him with others more capable of helping him govern. Getting elected and getting things done for the people are two different jobs.  I am an admirer of Tim Kaine, whom I backed in his current position as one of my successors as Virginia governor and even recommended for the vice presidency. But a spate of recent losses in races that Democrats should have won underscores what has been obvious to me for a long time: The chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee is the wrong job for him.  The changes must go much deeper. Obama’s West Wing is filled with people who are in their jobs because of their Chicago connections or because they signed on with Obama early during his presidential campaign.  One problem is that they do not have sufficient experience at governing at the executive branch level. The deeper problem is that they are not listening to the people. Read the rest of this entry »
