Special counsel investigation includes Manafort, may expand to Sessions: report

Robert Mueller, the newly appointed special counsel in the investigation into Russian election interference, has assumed a separate criminal investigation of Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and may soon expand the investigation to include Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, The Associated Press reportedFriday.

Rosenstein announced the appointment of Mueller last month. Mueller is a former prosecutor who served 12 years at the helm of the FBI and is respected on both sides of the aisle.

The investigation has been underway at the FBI for months and appears to be focused heavily on several figures who were prominent in the Trump campaign, including former National Security adviser Michael Flynn and Manafort.

The Justice Department’s own investigation of Manafort and his past business dealings with the Ukraine began ahead of the 2016 election. The FBI only announced its investigation of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in March.

Rosenstein, in a separate interview with AP Friday, acknowledged that Mueller could expand the investigation to include himself and Sessions, adding that if that were to happen he would recuse himself from any oversight of the special counsel.

“I’ve talked with Director Mueller about this,” Rosenstein told AP. “He’s going to make the appropriate decisions, and if anything that I did winds up being relevant to his investigation then, as Director Mueller and I discussed, if there’s a need from me to recuse I will.”

Rosenstein was under pressure to appoint a special prosecutor last month following the firing of former FBI Director James Comey. Rosenstein appointed Mueller shortly after the firing, and Mueller has since taken over the investigation.

Mueller – who failed to prosecute a single white-collar Wall St. criminal – is responsible for gutting the FBI’s seriousness and instead turning it into a vehicle for entrapping and propagandizing pudding heads in the fraudulent war on terror.

      Mueller has one job…Hang Trump.

He does that, he stops the rapidly escalating dissolution of the Republic.

He does it well, a lot of invertebrate swamp progeny currently occupying the Houses of Power go down too.

He doesn’t – then you get your “Oceans of blood”.

As for your Party…Have you thought about recruiting FOI? They pretty much did the same thing, but got diverted by Farrakhan’s mental fuzziness from their original clear purpose.

No, FOI and anyone who bought into the utter stupidity of the NOI couldn’t possibly qualify. One of those assclowns regularly comes into my favored Costco in full clown regalia to buy groceries – not a good look.

Bottomline, Mueller’s not respected by anyone who thinks and pays attention. Consequently, his deliverables will not be respected either. Mish has the most sensible take on this bit of political theatre:

        What’s the Real Mission?

Republicans and Trump want to pacify the media and get this nonsense behind them.
Democrats want this to drag on forever.

Peter King is correct in his assessment “These guys go on forever.”

As a byproduct of point number two, numerous witch hunts will take place as Democrats will want to investigate every lead, no matter how ridiculous.

The budget is open-ended and there are no time limits. The witch hunt could conceivably last for the duration of Trump’s presidency.

Much of Trump’s agenda will be on indefinite hold as the progress, or lack thereof, as the story unfolds.

The appointment of a special counsel does not change impeachment odds. For discussion, please see Impeachment Odds Approximately Zero

I don’t mean to be cold blooded here, brother. But with the BLM types being “useless morons”, the intellectual types being “snowflakes” the radical types being “clowns, the city poor being “useless oxygen breathers”, and folks my age or older being “useless”…

You done run out of Negroes for that army.

You got you a “Porch Simian” problem, if ye recall when the boy commented on being online promoting his drivel for over 10 years and not meeting another single black person who agreed with him…

You done “excluded” yourself out of the Negro race.

        As to Mr. Chumph –

British betting company Ladbrokes has cut the price of a Trump impeachment to odds-on at 4-5 from 11-10. Those new odds equate to a 55.6 percent probability that the Senate will remove the president from office.

Donald Trump ‘has 60% chance’ of being impeached after James Comey firing

A Paddy Power spokesman said: “In the past 24 hours alone we’ve seen money for Trump to be impeached in his first term, resulting in us cutting the odds from 10/11 into 4/6.

        Don’t bet on emotion, C.

rotflmbao…, you forgot fat degenerate negroe celebrities, preachers, and politicians brah!

Why’na fudge would I want to seek out the “exemplars” of a failed demographic to support anything I’m interested in doing? Hell, by a 6 to 1 margin, I’ll do better appealing directly to fellow militant Roman Catholics – who actually have experience operating the infrastructure of civilization, as compared and contrasted with johnny come lately negroes who not only cannot do for self, but demonstrably and consistently FUBAR whatever apparatus of civilization is left in their charge.
