Trump vs Mika – The Chumph Goes Locker Room

The Chumph just picked on the wrong woman to get crass with in DC. Mika Brzezinski is not only a popular TV Host, she has a lineage which goes back to her Father, Zbigniew in the halls of some of the most powerful people in the US Government. Unlike most of the talking heads on cable news – Mika grew up in the halls of power. Her family is highly respected, whether you agree with her politically or not. She is DC “royalty”, and a lot of folks watched her grow up and become a successful reporter.

“You don’t tug on Superman’s cape.”

So the crass, low-life, pernicious tweets by the Chumph – which are a hallmark of a mental maturity of a sociopathic 9 year old, are getting hammered by both sides of the aisle.

This shit is below the office of the President, and any politician who is blocking Putin’s Bitch removal from office is committing treason against America. And hopefully will suffer the righteous consequences of removal from office, conviction, and prison.

Here Charles Blow directly confronts the Chumph and his acolytes lying.

‘Flat out gross and disgusting’: Cable TV erupts at Trump’s Mika Brzezinski tweets

Hours after President Trump posted a pair of ugly tweets attacking cable TV hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, cable news talk shows across the political spectrum featured lengthy, often angry monologues accusing him of demeaning his office as well as women.

Conservatives Charles Krauthammer and Tucker Carlson criticized the tweets on Fox News, with Krauthammer saying “Presidents don’t talk like this.”

On CNN, Don Lemon and Anderson Cooper dedicated their opening remarks to what Lemon called Trump’s “flat out gross and disgusting” tweets.

And on a CNN panel Thursday night, USA Today columnist Kirsten Powers got into a lively debate over the definitions of “feminism” and “misogyny” with Trump surrogate Jeffrey Lord.

But even Lord, who usually defends anything and everything Trump does, said, “I don’t think he should have done it.”

Few were as impassioned as Nicolle Wallace, a former communications director for President George W. Bush. On her MSNBC show Thursday afternoon, Wallace delivered a scorched-earth monologue.

“As someone who once proudly called myself a Republican, the party will be permanently associated with misogyny if leaders don’t stand up and demand a retraction,” Wallace said, challenging women in the Trump administration to publicly denounce their boss’s words and “work behind the scenes to educate him about just how offensive they are.”

Wallace singled out Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, deputy national security adviser Dina Powell and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

“Most importantly,” Wallace continued, “as the mother of a son, I ask any woman who’s defending these comments how they plan to raise good men if the most powerful man in the world gets away with this.”

Other conservative hosts shared in her exasperation.

At the beginning of an interview with Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel, Fox News anchor Julie Banderas said she would “love to start this segment out about health care, the travel ban” or the controversial off-camera White House press briefings, “but instead I have to start with the president’s tweets.”

McDaniel defended the president’s instinct to fight back against criticisms doled out by Scarborough and Brzezinski, but Banderas pushed back, saying Trump didn’t “need to stoop to that level.”

“I don’t care who you are. You don’t stoop to the level of that,” Banderas said. “I mean that’s like me scolding my 4-year-old for using a bad word and then me repeating it. That’s just not how you run a country or you parent a 4-year-old.”

Krauthammer, the dean of conservative newspaper columnists and frequent Trump critic, said during a panel with Fox News’s Bret Baier that Trump was behaving like authoritarian leaders.

“Presidents don’t talk like this. They never have,” Krauthammer said. “This is what it sounds like when you’re living in a banana republic. This is how Hugo Chávez would talk about his opponents. This is how the worst dictator, Duterte in the Philippines, would talk about opponents.”

New Study – Adult Perceptions of Black Girls

Interesting study. Adults are likely to see black girls as more mature then they are, and in less need of support and nurturing…

Not sure why this is a surprise, as it seems that some of our sick population has a hard time seeing black children as even human.

Adults view black girls as ‘less innocent,’ new report says

When compared with their white peers, young black girls are viewed less as children and more like adults, according to a new research report.

Adults in the United States tend to view black girls as “less innocent” and more grown up than white girls, according to the report, which published by Georgetown Law’s Center on Poverty and Inequality on Tuesday.
Based on those findings, the research suggests that adults may perceive that black girls need less nurturing and protection than white girls, which could influence how black girls are treated in the education or juvenile justice systems.
“If our public systems, such as schools and the juvenile justice system, view black girls as older and less innocent, they may be targeted for unfair treatment in ways that effectively erase their childhood,” said Rebecca Epstein, lead author of the report and executive director of the Center on Poverty and Inequality.
She added that disparities in how black girls are viewed emerge as early as age 5, when some children are still in preschool.
“Our finding that adultification begins as young as the age of 5 was particularly sobering. That means that adults may even see little girls in kindergarten differently, needing less nurturing and support than their white peers,” Epstein said.
“Yet at the same time, the more general confirmation that black girls are adultified was not surprising. Scholars and researchers have observed this phenomenon for years,” she said. “Many experts have observed that stereotypes of black women, especially the stereotype of the ‘angry black woman,’ are projected onto black girls, and that black girls’ behavior is often interpreted as threatening to adults’ authority, which effectively adultifies black girls in harmful ways.”…More...

Jordan Edwards Murder By Cop – Teen Party Was Alcohol Free

Shortly after the shooting of Jordan Edwards by a Cop who fired his rifle into a car full of teens the police came out with two story lines…

There was alcohol (and drugs) at the party – That one was blown up by the fact that neither Edwards, or the three other passengers in the car had any traces of alcohol or drugs in their system.

That the car the boys were in was aggressively headed towards the police – Blown up by cell phone video of the incident that the teens were  leaving the party, and driving away from police.

Now…Further evidence that the Party was a well managed, parent monitored affair, where there was nothing illegal going on.

Nobody Was Drinking At The Party Where Police Killed Jordan Edwards

A new report reveals that officers didn’t find any contraband before one of them fatally shot the 15-year-old.

There was never a reason for Jordan Edwards to be fatally shot by a police officer ― and a new report reveals that there was never even a reason for authorities to be at the party the teen was attending.

No teens were drinking or doing illicit drugs at a house party in suburban Dallas where Edwards, 15, was killed on April 29, a law enforcement official told the Dallas Morning News this week.

A newly released autopsy report also reveals that Edwards wasn’t under the influence when officer Roy Oliver shot him. The officer was responding to a reports that teens had been drinking at a party.

Oliver, 37, was fired and then charged with murder within a week of the shooting.

Initially, Balch Springs Police Chief Jonathan Haber said Oliver opened fire on the vehicle Edwards was sitting in because the driver was reversing aggressively toward him. Haber changed his tune after video evidence showed the car driving away from officers.

Oliver allegedly fired his rifle into the vehicle, striking Edwards once in the head. Edwards’ two brothers and two of his friends were in the car with him.

An unidentified law enforcement official told the Dallas Morning News that Oliver and another officer were inside the party just before the fatal encounter, and saw kids carrying energy drinks and sodas. They didn’t find any evidence of underage consumption, except for an empty beer bottle in a kitchen trash can.

“That was a condition of them attending the party,” Lee Merritt, the family’s attorney, told the paper. “If they saw anyone drinking, they had to leave.”

The New Jim Crow – Mississippi Ordered to Stop Incarceration of Poor Without Lawyers

The New Jim Crow in many Republican dominated states is not only to incarcerate drug offenders but to incarcerate people (particularly minorities and black folks) for being poor.

The legal system is already massively tilted towards the rich. The Chumph would often stiff his small contractors on work they did for him, confident in the knowledge that as small businesses they could not afford to go to court and pay the lawyers.

Florida’s legal system is rigged so that in a Civil suit you must have a lawyer to submit any documents to the court. A lot of scumbag companies “court shop” specifically for legal systems in states which have rules making it too expensive for their victims to defend themselves.

In Mississippi this legal Jim Crow went to locking people p for up to a year because they couldn’t afford lawyers to defend themselves. You would be right in guessing most of these folks were black.

The New Jim Crow – Just as bad as the Old Jim Crow, with the same racist goals.

Mississippi counties ordered to stop jailing poor people indefinitely

A U.S. federal judge has ordered four central Mississippi counties to appoint public defenders for arrestees when they are detained instead of jailing them for months without providing legal counsel, civil rights groups said on Wednesday.

The order accompanies the settlement of a federal class action lawsuit challenging one county’s practice of detaining people who cannot afford a lawyer for as long as a year without formal charges and appointment of counsel, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Roderick and Solange MacArthur Justice Center said in a statement.

The settlement and court order require Scott, Neshoba, Newton and Leake counties to hire a chief public defender, a rarity in rural Mississippi, to ensure that defense lawyers no longer serve at judges’ whims, the statement said. The chief public defender, not judges, would supervise all public defenders, the statement said.

A spokeswoman for Attorney General Jim Hood, whose office handled the case, did not respond to a request for comment.

The ACLU and MacArthur Center sued Scott County in 2014 on behalf of Josh Bassett and Octavious Burks, who were detained there for eight and 10 months, respectively, without being indicted or being appointed a lawyer.

Unlike in federal courts and most other states, Mississippi places no limit on how long a person can be held in jail before prosecutors get an indictment. Obtaining an indictment in the four counties often takes up to a year, the statement said.

The order, issued this week by U.S. District Judge Henry Wingate, mandates that the four counties, which make up Mississippi’s Eighth Circuit Court district, appoint public defenders at the time people are arrested.

Mark Duncan, who was sued while district attorney for the four counties and is now a circuit judge, said by telephone that he was unaware of the settlement.

Vinyl Records are Back – Sony to Make Vinyl Records in Japan

Digital music sucks. Lets face it, your Apple/Microsoft digital music is pretty bad if played on anything other than your phone or iPod equivalent. If you listen to anything that is not synthesized music, you are missing a healthy percentage of what is there. Don’t believe me? Listen to a digitally downloaded version of a Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, or Thelonious Monk compared to a Vinyl version on any decent system. Gosh! Half the music got lost in the translation.

Vinyl is the fastest growing segment (and only growing segment) of the Music distribution industry Which is why the Millennial Generation is making a fast track to buy up Turntables, old amplifiers (especially vacuum tube) and speakers capable of producing. Look at the prices of what used to be relegated to the Yard Sale table! Even modest quality turntables made by the venerable BSR are selling into the hundreds of dollars. Vacuum Tubes? Yeah, those 1930’s generation technology devices long ago replaced by the transistor in the 60’s are making a comeback because of the sound they are capable of producing. The price of a modest tube amp versus its original outperforms Uber stock. We won’t even discuss high end.

Maybe I’m an old timer – but I enjoyed record stores…except for the usual teen staff who thought somehow that playing music at ear shattering volume would somehow induce you to enjoy it.

There is a business lesson here. Not everything new is good, or an improvement. I see this in the technology markets. The rush to adopt the newest shiny technological bauble often overlooks the key rationale of why the previous technology did what it did. Technology alone doesn’t solve problems – what it does is just fail faster because of the same human problems the previous iteration did. The Internet of today is obviously a vast improvement over the technologies which came before it. However it brings with it a number of issues, such as poor security which the old networks didn’t have much of an issue with. Lot of focus on making it faster, or more far reaching – not much thinking on how do we construct a system which by its design solves the major issues. Lot of thinking inside the very small box.

Gosh…I’m going to need a “new” tube amp to replace the one I sold 10 years ago. Lucky for me I kept the old Turntable!

If you enjoy Jazz Music from the 50’s through the 70’s this is very important. Th Japanese bought up all the original Analog tapes they could of Jazz Musicians, to feed their local market of Jazz aficionados. This could well mean some of that may be available in the original Vinyl format again.

Sony Will Start Making Vinyl Records Again In Japan, After Nearly 30-Year Hiatus

Sony Music is preparing to make its own vinyl records again in Japan, in another sign that albums are back from the brink of being obsolete. The company says it’s installing record-cutting equipment and enlisting the help of older engineers who know how to reproduce the best sound.

Vinyl sales have seen a resurgence since around 2008. And while records are still a small part of the market, the fact that in 2016 “a format nearly a century old generated 3.6 percent of total global revenues is remarkable,” as NPR’s Andrew Flanagan has reported.

Years of double-digit growth in record sales have left vinyl press plants in the U.S., Japan, and elsewhere struggling to meet demand. Sony’s plan reportedly includes the possibility that it will press records on contract.

As the creator of the Walkman and a co-developer of the CD format, Sony helped to end the era of vinyl albums. And while sales of digital music have been hit in recent years by the popularity of streaming audio on Spotify, Pandora and other outlets, Japan’s Nikkei newspaper quotes Sony Music Japan’s CEO Michinori Mizuno saying that when it comes to vinyl, “A lot of young people buy songs that they hear and love on streaming services.”

Fans of vinyl cite the rich sound it provides; they also say album art and liner notes gives them a more tangible sense of connection to the music they love.

Here’s what a 28-year-old record store customer told NPR about the format’s appeal, back in 2014:

“The way I consumed music has been so instant and so immediate, especially with Spotify and online streaming services,” Veronica Martinez said. “I kind of just want to go back to the way I used to listen to it as a kid.”

Sony has already installed record-cutting equipment at a Tokyo studio; it will start pressing records again in the spring of 2018 — nearly three decades after it made its last in-house vinyl back in 1989.

“Cutting is a delicate process, with the quality of sound affected by the depth and angle of the grooves,” Nikkei reports, “and Sony is scrambling to bring in old record engineers to pass on their knowledge.”

With the move, Sony will make records that could be played on the new turntable it sent to market last year — although we’ll note that the player includes an audio converter and a USB outlet for converting songs into digital files.

At the end of 2016, sales of vinyl records outpaced digital music sales for the first time in the U.K., as The Guardian reported.

Black Cop Warns Black Men of White Cops

It isn’t like we haven’t seen a lot of evidence of some white cops escalating what should be a routine stop to murder. In combination with stacked juries and corrupt state prosecutors who protect bad cops from even murder prosecution, this creates a situation for increased violence instead of de escalation.

The problem here, at least to my view, is in large part the training given to cops to use massive force in response to every situation. This approach, instead of any sort of walking a situation down into a non-violent conflict is exacerbated by white cop prejudices and racism.

This black cop who let the cat out of the bag…Better watch his back.

Arkansas 10 Commandments Monument on Statehouse Ground Lasts Less than 24 Hours

The Constitution forbids the establishment of a State Religion. That hasn’t stopped the white-wing evangelical Republicans in some state from trying to ram their religion down everyone else’s throats.

More signs of resistance to the CHumph fascist state.

Less than a day after a monument of the Ten Commandments was installed outside the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock, it was destroyed when a man smashed a car into the stone.

Authorities say Michael T. Reed II drove a 2016 Dodge Dart into the 6,000-pound granite slab at about 4:47 a.m. local time on Wednesday.

“My boss called me and told me the Ten Commandments monument had been destroyed,” Secretary of State and Capitol Police spokesman Chris Powell told NPR. “When I got here, it was rolled over on the sidewalk and broken into multiple pieces.”

A video that appears to have been taken from inside the car was posted on the Facebook account of a Michael Reed early Wednesday; Powell told the AP that officials believe the video is authentic. It shows what looks like the Arkansas State Capitol building. A man’s voice says: “Oh my goodness. Freedom!” as the car careens into the monument.

Powell said the crash into the 6-foot-tall slab was no accident.

Michael T. Reed of Van Buren, Ark., was booked into the Pulaski County jail on Wednesday morning. He faces preliminary charges of defacing an object of public respect (sic), trespassing and criminal mischief.

“This was deliberate. The individual drove down there and stopped. He was videoing it on his cellphone as he accelerated into the monument,” Powell said. “One of our Capitol Police officers was on patrol and witnessed it.”

Reed, who police say is a 32-year-old white man from Van Buren, Ark., was arrested outside the Capitol and booked at the Pulaski County Jail. He faces preliminary charges of defacing an object of public respect, a Class C felony; criminal mischief in the first degree, a Class C felony; and trespassing on the state Capitol grounds, a misdemeanor.

Reed was arrested in 2014 for driving a car into the Ten Commandments monument at Oklahoma’s state Capitol, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s spokesman Mark Opgrande told The Associated Press. He was admitted to a hospital the next day for mental treatment and was not formally charged, the AP reports. In the 2014 incident, The Oklahoman reported that the U.S. Secret Service interviewed Reed and that he told agents that he has bipolar disorder and that Satan had directed him to destroy the monument.

The Tulsa World reported in 2015 that Reed sent the newspaper a letter apologizing for the destruction of the Oklahoma monument. “I am so sorry that this all happening (sic) and wished I could take it all back,” Reed wrote, explaining to the World that he had begun to believe the voices in his head.

Police said Wednesday that Reed was cooperative during his arrest and that, so far, there is no indication of motive.

The erection of the privately funded monument has been contentious. The Arkansas Legislature passed a law in 2015 requiring the installation of the monument on Capitol grounds. The Ten Commandments were erected Tuesday morning, and the ACLU of Arkansas has said it will sue for the monument’s removal.

Off Duty Lansing Cop Chokes Teen and Threaten to Kill Him…For Being on His Lawn

Another out of control cop. This one off duty. Black teens sit in his front yard to tend to one of them who had been injured. White cop comes out tackles one of them starts choking him and threatening to kill him.

Guess the only good thing is he didn’t have his gun so he could have shot both kids and had the County Prosecutor get him off with an all white, Trump voter jury.

Off-Duty Officer Pins Black Teen To Ground For Being On His Lawn

Another teen filmed the video and begged the officer to let them go.

Police officers in the Village of Lansing, Illinois, are investigating an incident involving an off-duty police officer who was filmed holding a black teenager to the ground and threatening his life for being on the officer’s lawn.

Another minor filmed a portion of the Saturday confrontation, which was later shared on Facebook, where it went viral. The roughly 90-second video, seen below, contains explicit language throughout.

In it, an adult man straddles the teen and puts his hand around his neck. The man can be heard scolding the teen for coming onto his property and says, “I’m going to fucking kill you.”

Andrew M. Stroth, a civil rights attorney who is representing the teen’s family, identified him as 15-year-old Jordan Brunson and identified the teen who recorded the incident only as Aaron, also 15.

Later in the video, the off-duty officer tells Brunson that he is “trying to figure out what’s going on and you guys are acting stupid.”

When Brunson tells the man that “he is not involved in this,” the man says, “I don’t give a fuck who is. Do you understand that?”

“Why are you doing this to me then?” Brunson asks, to which the man replies, “Because your friend is being a fucking idiot,” apparently referring to Aaron.

A woman named Ann Falls, who claims to be related to Brunson, shared the video Monday on Facebook. It has been viewed nearly 4 million times.

The Lansing Police Department confirmed to the Northwest Indiana Times that officials had been investigating the incident before video of the confrontation was uploaded to the internet. The confrontation was related to a larger fight that had broken out among about 30 juveniles earlier in the day, police said in a statement Tuesday.

Brunson told Chicago news station WGN-TV that he was trying to help his friend who had been injured in a fight and went to sit on the officer’s porch.

“I was examining him,” Brunson told the news station. “I was going to go tell his grandmother.” Brunson also said that the man never identified himself as a police officer.

When asked about the officer’s confrontation of the teens, a spokesperson for the Lansing police directed HuffPost to statements released Monday, which said the off-duty officer “became involved when he was approached by two other subjects involved in the fight.”

“One of the juveniles had visible minor injuries, and the other was temporarily detained for further investigation until the arrival of on-duty officers,” the statement said.

The off-duty officer had found a backpack containing a baseball hat and a BB gun in his backyard, then he saw the injured 15-year-old on his property, according to the police’s statement Tuesday. The teen told the officer that he had been in a fight with several black male juveniles.

A black 15-year-old (Brunson, who is not identified by name in the police statement) then reportedly approached the injured teen and the off-duty officer on the officer’s property. According to police, the officer told both teens to stay put until police arrived, but they refused, “resulting in the off-duty officer physically detaining one of the juveniles.”

Stroth, whose law firm investigates police brutality, called the officer’s actions unwarranted and excessive, and said the earlier fight between the teens was unrelated to the officer’s treatment of Brunson.

“The video speaks for itself. It’s yet another example of a white officer using excessive and unreasonable force against a 15-year-old black boy,” Stroth told HuffPost. “Based on eyewitness reports and the video, Jordan did nothing to provoke the unwarranted and excessive force used by the police officer.”

Stroth told HuffPost that police had not filed any charges against either boy. Lansing police have not released the name of the officer, who is still on active duty, Police Chief Dennis Murrin told the Northwest Indiana Times.

Brunson’s family has not pressed any charges against the officer, though Stroth’s law firm is conducting its own investigation into the incident.

The Chumph’s Fake Time Magazine Cover

There is a novelty company which sells your picture on the cover of Time Magazine as a gag. Other than the “Time Person of the Year” logo, no attempt is made to actually make it look real,

Seems that the Chumph’s wee weiner ego needed a boost – so he had himself photoshopped onto a Time Cover with a fake byline. And promptly hung copis of the fake magazine covers in a number of his properties to impress everyone.

The funny thing is the cover they stole the background from has an article about Global Warming,

Laquan McDonald Coverup – Indictments

Since being a bad Cop is 100% proof against being convicted for any murders you commit…

And bad Cops are using their guns even in cases of minor traffic stops for broken headlights and the like…

Every stop now s a life or death situation – no matter how innocent a black person is.

Going back to the Wild West under the Chumph and Sessions – First bullet wins.

This is not good news to decent cops who are being put on the firing line for racism.

Looks like they selected a Grand Jury in Chicago who at least could identify a crime when they saw one.

Chicago Grand Jury Indicts Three Officers for Alleged Cover-Up of Laquan McDonald Shooting

Three of the Chicago police officers on the scene when Jason Van Dyke shot and killed Laquan McDonald in 2014 have been indicted on charges of conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and official misconduct. They stand accused of lying on incident reports about the moments leading up to Van Dyke’s use of deadly force against the black 17-year-old.

The indictment, which is written in a way that suggests more officers could still be charged for participating in the cover-up, accuses David March, Joseph Walsh, and Thomas Gaffney of allegedly coordinating with Van Dyke—who has been charged with murder—to provide false accounts of the shooting “in order to shield their fellow officer from criminal investigation and prosecution.”

In a report submitted to the Chicago Police Department, Marsh wrote that McDonald had “committed aggravated assaults against the three officers, finally forcing [Van Dyke], in defense of his life, to shoot and kill” him. In a separate report, Walsh wrote that “when MCDONALD got to within 12 to 15 feet of the officers he swung the knife toward the officers in an aggressive manner.” Gaffney submitted a report that said three officers had been “battered” during the run-up to the shooting.

All of these claims were revealed to be lies upon the release of a dashcam video that showed McDonald’s final moments. The release of the video, which sparked protests and led to the ouster of Chicago’s police superintendent, proved McDonald had not threatened or acted in an aggressive manner toward any of the officers in the moments before Van Dyke shot him 16 times.

In the indictment, the officers are accused of mischaracterizing “the video recordings so that independent criminal investigators would not know the truth about the Laquan McDonald killing and the public would not see the video recordings of the events.” It’s unclear at what point the three officers named in the indictment watched the dashcam footage, and what role their descriptions of it may have played in the city’s decision to keep the video out of public view until a judge ordered its release in November 2015.

The outcry over McDonald’s death in the wake of the video’s release spurred the Obama-era Department of Justice to launch an investigation into policing in Chicago. That effort led to a blistering report that found, among other things, that “a code of silence among Chicago police officers exists, extending to lying and affirmative efforts to conceal evidence.”

The Justice Department’s report was supposed to lead to a court-enforced consent decree that would have mandated a reform agenda. The Trump administration, however, has scuttled plans for that consent decree to take effect.

Florida Cop Harasses Black Man With Made Up Law

Apparently stepping outside the walk lines in Florida is a major felony. Not to mention getting arrested for a non-existent law.

Just another case of Walking While Black and an out-of-control racist cop.

WATCH: Florida cop makes up law to ticket black man for walking without identification

According to the Miami Herald, a police officer in Jacksonville, Florida incorrectly cited a law requiring identification for drivers when giving a ticket to a black man for jaywalking and for not having an ID on him, as shown in a viral video the man in question posted on social media.

The video posted by 21-year-old Devonte Shipman on June 20 shows Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Officer J.S. Bolen confronting Shipman for jaywalking.

“Miami Beach, 1962?” the Herald report asked. “No, Jacksonville, 2017.”

When Shipman asked the officer what he’d done wrong, the cop told him that he was fining him for jaywalking, which costs $65. Bolen then asked the young man for his ID, and when he told the officer he didn’t have it, Bolen “snapped.”

“That’s another infraction,” Bolen said. “In the state of Florida, you have to have an ID card on you identifying who you are or I can detain you for seven hours until I figure out who you are.”

According to the Herald, however, the officer got the law wrong — Florida Statute 322.15 requires licensed drivers to always have their licenses when driving and can incur a $136 fine if they do not, but no such law exists for walking without a license.

“Bolen also gave Shipman a citation for failing to obey a pedestrian control signal, another $62.50 fine,” the Herald noted.

Black Teens Assaulted By Park Police for Selling Water

At the National Mall in Washington, DC, the law says you need a permit to sell anything. It isn’t that unusual that during the hot summer tourist season some kids will come up with the idea of rolling out a cooler full of iced water bottles and selling them to the visitors. Usually, if caught – that winds up in a simple talking to by the Park Police telling them to pack up and go, informing them that they need a permit and where to get one. No big deal. Indeed, unless the kids are serial abusers of the statute – not even so much as a ticket.

Except when the kids involved are a group of black teens, and the “cops” in question are out of control.

The National Mall is for everyone. Even a few entrepreneurial teens who run afoul of the Park Service taxation scheme to collect money from every single vendor.

These cops heads need to roll.

4 Black Teens Detained For Selling Water At National Mall Were Treated Like A ‘Threat’

A D.C. councilman wrote a letter to the U.S. Park Police chief calling out the glaring racial double standard.

Four young black men were handcuffed by undercover police Thursday for selling water on the grounds of the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Tim Krepp, a tour guide at the mall, told HuffPost he had just finished his shift when he saw the young men being detained by plainclothes park policemen.

Krepp, who has been a tour guide for nearly 11 years, said that he has seen young boys and girls selling water “all the time” but has never witnessed anyone be detained by police as a result. He said seeing the young men sitting handcuffed on the ground and being searched by the cops immediately struck him ― so he took pictures of the moment and shared them on Twitter.

Krepp’s tweet has since been retweeted more than 15,000 times, sparking widespread outrage over the officers’ actions.

“There’s no way you can avoid the obvious imagery of young black men being handcuffed and clearly being treated as a threat with white cops around,” Krepp told HuffPost.

“Images matter and symbols matter, especially at the National Mall when you’re here to see symbols and images to learn,” he added. “That’s why it’s here, this is a sacred space to talk about our national history and the cops should be aware of that.”

The tweet has even led D.C. Councilman Charles Allen to issue a letter to the U.S. Park Police chief denouncing the officers’ actions and calling out the racial double standard around this case.

“I can’t help but think how the reaction by these same officers might have varied if different children had set up a quaint hand-painted lemonade stand on the same spot,” Allen wrote. “While still the same violation of selling a beverage without proper permits and licenses, I doubt we would have seen little girls in pigtails handcuffed on the ground.”

Sgt. Anna Rose of the U.S. Park Police said in a statement Friday that “officers placed them in handcuffs for the safety of the officers and of the individuals,” according to NBC Washington.

The young men were reportedly given a verbal warning and eventually released, but Krepp believes this incident speaks to a broader issue around policing and black lives.

“We want quality, community policing ― we want it to work well and that wasn’t what I saw,” he said.

“Free Speech” And College Professors

Wow! We got some college professors on the Warpath…And losing their jobs because of it.

Tend to agree with this one. North Korea ain’t a tourist destination! Your dumb ass has no business there unless it is some sort of official business agreed to by the North Koreans.

They will lock your dumb behind up, and nobody is coming to get you.

Professor who said ‘clueless white male’ Otto Warmbier got ‘what he deserved’ won’t be rehired

The University of Delaware has cut ties with an adjunct professor who suggested that Otto Warmbier, the American student whose death last weekafter being imprisoned in North Korea drew worldwide attention, was a “clueless white male” who “got exactly what he deserved.”

Katherine Dettwyler, who taught in the anthropology department as recently as spring semester, “will not be rehired to teach at the University in the future,” the university said in a statement on Sunday. Her comments were posted at a time when she was not employed with the university and “in no way reflect the values or position of the University of Delaware,” the statement read.

Warmbier, a 22-year-old student from the University of Virginia, was traveling in North Korea when he was arrested in early 2016 for allegedly trying to steal a propaganda poster from a hotel. After a sham trial, he was sentenced to 15 years hard labor in North Korean prison for “hostile acts” against the state. Video broadcast around the world of his public confession showed him crying and pleading for forgiveness.

Warmbier died of unknown causes on June 19, a week after he was returned to the United States in a coma.

Days later, in a now-deleted post from her Facebook account, Dettwyler wrote that Warmbier was “typical of the mindset of a lot of the young, white, rich, clueless males who come into my classes,” according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“Is it wrong of me to think that Otto Warmbier got exactly what he deserved?” she wrote. “I see him crying at his sentencing hearing and think, ‘What did you expect?’”

The post continued: “These are the same kids who cry about their grades because they didn’t think they’d really have to read and study the material to get a good grade. His parents ultimately are to blame for his growing up thinking he could get away with whatever he wanted. Maybe in the US, where young, white, rich, clueless white males routinely get away with raping women. Not so much in North Korea. And of course, it’s Otto’s parents who will pay the price for the rest of their lives.”

The 62-year-old professor made similar remarks, since deleted, in the comments section of a National Review article, Campus Reform reported. She said she loved her “hard-working, sincere, non-arrogant college students,” but added: “If you knew some of these kids, you’d be appalled. They think nothing of raping drunk girls at frat parties and snorting cocaine, cheating on exams, and threatening professors with physical violence.”

An article in the HuffPost, written under the name La Sha and entitled “North Korea Proves Your White Male Privilege is Not Universal,” attempted to make a similar point.

When the posts came to light, Dettwyler faced a flood of comments calling for her termination, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

As the backlash grew, the university tried to distance itself from her.

This professor screwed up two ways – the first of which was to appear on Faux News. The second of which was to promote a “blacks only” event. Not sure where the organizers of this BLM event were coming from, but BLM ain’t the KKK…or Republican Party for that matter. Or at least it shouldn’t be. Not sure how holding a segregated event advances anything relative to Black Lives Matter. Methinks some folks heads have gotten a bit too big, or small in this case. This woman is waaaay too stupid to be in the press, falling directly into the trap Carlson set for her. Makes you wonder if she got here degree by mail order. The President of the College, Anthony E. Monroe was absolutely  right to fire her dumb ass.

Professor fired after defending blacks-only event to Fox News. ‘I was publicly lynched,’ she says.

Earlier this month, political commentator Lisa Durden gave a fiery interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, defending a Black Lives Matter chapter’s decision to host a Memorial Day event exclusively for black people.

“Boo-hoo-hoo,” Lisa Durden, who is also an adjunct professor at Essex County College in Newark, said in the June 6 television appearance. “You white people are angry because you couldn’t use your ‘white privilege’ card to get invited to the Black Lives Matter’s all-black Memorial Day celebration.”

In the heated exchange, Carlson responded by calling her “hostile and separatist and crazy.”

“You’re demented actually,” he said. “You’re sick and what you’re saying is disgusting and if you were a Nazi I would say the same thing to you.”

Durden’s remarks spurred both criticism and praise on social media. But what happened less than 48 hours later prompted an even stronger reaction.

On June 8, with about a week left of her summer session of teaching, Durden’s employers at Essex County College suspended her. About two weeks later, Durden was fired from the community college.

The college’s president announced the decision in a lengthy statement Friday, days after Durden met with school officials in a community forum.

Anthony E. Munroe, Essex County College president, said the administration was “immediately inundated with feedback from students, faculty and prospective students and their families expressing frustration, concern and even fear that the views expressed by a College employee (with influence over students) would negatively impact their experience on the campus.”

“In consideration of the College’s mission, and the impact that this matter has had on the College’s fulfillment of its mission, we cannot maintain an employment relationship with the adjunct,” Munroe said in the statement.

But Durden said the firing was unjust and baseless. She claimed “there was no due process, there were no facts.”

“I was publicly lynched,” Durden said in an interview with The Washington Post. “They didn’t let me finish the class and they disrupted the learning process.”
