California Black Lives Matter Proud of Facebook Post Saying They Spit in Police Officer’s Starbucks

A California Black Lives Matter group claiming one of its members happily spit in a local police officer’s Starbucks order is also saying they are proud of the incident, even as the Starbuck’s location is denying it ever happened.

A Facebook post on the Black Lives Matter sponsored page titled “Stockton Police Department, Corruption Reporting Page,” announced that a Stockton police officer was given a coffee order laced with spit.

“We are very happy to report that today this officer from Stockton Police Department got to have coffee at Starbucks with the public,” The post reads, “it was hot coffee according to our supporters served with a side of spit they even gave it to him with a smile and a nice comment.”

The post is accompanied by a photo of an officer and his wife and child and was posted on December 28 on a page that also features a banner that reads, “The thin blue line is a terrorist symbol.”

Many commenters at the page criticized the Black Lives Matter group for its cowardly and disgusting action, but the admin of the page replied to many stating they are proud of what they claimed happened. For instance, to one commenter who said, “That’s wrong” the admin replied, “But it feels so good.”

After the Facebook post made a stir, though, the local Starbucks said it investigated the incident and later reported saying they can find no evidence and no employee who perpetrated the spitting.

“We are proud of our relationship with the Stockton Police Department, who initially notified us of this rumor. We can confirm there is absolutely no truth to this post, and we are disappointed with the suggestion,” the local Starbucks said in a statement released to Fox 40 Sacramento.

After the store’s denial, the Black Lives Matter group insisted that store managers are lying and that the incident did, indeed, take place, but they won’t say which employee did it so the employee won’t face any repercussions.

The group also claimed that another restaurant in the area does the same thing to orders by police officers, but the group refused to name the place.

Hate Crime in Houston

Yet another in a long list of Trump inspired hate crimes…

A Texas man’s SUV was burned and his home vandalized in an apparent racist attack.

The homeowner, who asked to remain anonymous in news accounts, said he was sleeping in his Highlands home about 4:30 a.m. Friday when was awakened by flashing lights, reported KPRC-TV.

He looked outside and saw his vehicle was on fire, and he ran outside and found “n****r leave” had been painted on both his SUV and the side of his house, police said.

The man has five children, but they do not live with him and were not present at the time.

The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the incident as a possible hate crime, the TV station reported.

Authorities are checking the neighborhood for surveillance cameras for possible evidence in the case.

Mormons Petition To Stop Tabernacle Choir From Singing At Trump’s Inauguration

Signers say the church’s values clash with the “racist, sexist” president-elect.

A Mormon who said his “heart sank” when he heard that the church’s beloved Tabernacle Choir will perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration has launched a petition to urge the group not to go to Washington, D.C.

“I love the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The thought of this choir and Mormonism being forever associated with a man who disparages minorities, brags about his sexual control of women, encourages intolerance and traffics in hate speech and bullying, was unacceptable,” Randall Thacker said in a statement. “I immediately knew there were probably thousands of people who felt the same way, so I created the space on Change.org for like-minded Mormons and their friends to share their feelings.”

About 215 of the choir’s 360 members are expected to perform at the inauguration, church officials have told The Salt Lake City Tribune.

By Thursday evening, nearly 19,000 people had signed the petition, which is seeking 25,000 signatures. The petition urges the Mormon Tabernacle Choir not to perform for an “incoming president who has demonstrated sexist, racist, misogynistic, and xenophobic behavior that does not align with the principles and teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.”

Most of the signatures are from LDS members around the world, according to Thacker, a lifelong member of the church.

The petition also encourages people to call and write the church to give their reasons for signing. Several mention that Trump’s values are incompatible with Mormonism or that the church should never become associated with politics. One quips: Conservative rocker “Ted Nugent and the choir? I don’t think so!” Another writes: “Horrible values. Separation of church and state. Pay your taxes.”

Gina Colvin, an LDS scholar and Maori writer in New Zealand, told the Tribune that the choir’s planned participation in the inauguration “speaks to me of how little moral care the church has for the international cultural and political diversity of our church.”

Thacker and other supporters plan to personally deliver the petition to the choir and church officials in the coming week, reports the Utah Standard-Examiner.

There was no immediate comment from Trump.

The president-elect’s team has struggled to find performers for his inauguration. The Rockettes will appear, though performers are upset, according to one dancer. “This is not a Republican or Democrat issue … this is an issue of racism and sexism, something that’s much bigger than politics,” she said in an interview.

FBI Analysis Fingers Russian Spy Agencies For U.S. Election Hacks

The report included samples of malicious computer code.

The FBI squarely blamed Russian intelligence services on Thursday for meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, releasing the most definitive report yet on the issue, including samples of malicious computer code said to have been used in a broad hacking campaign.

Starting in mid-2015, Russia’s foreign intelligence agency, the FSB, emailed a malicious link to more than 1,000 recipients, including U.S. government targets, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said in a 13-page report co-authored with the Department of Homeland Security. (bit.ly/2iuT8cp)

While the Department of Homeland Security and Office of the Director of National Intelligence had said Russia was behind the hacking in October, the report is the first detailed technical analysis provided by the government and the first official FBI statement.

Russia has consistently denied the hacking allegations.

The FBI issued its report on the same day that President Barack Obama announced a series of retaliatory measures, including the expulsion of 35 Russian intelligence operatives and the sanctioning of the GRU and FSB. The Kremlin denounced the sanctions as unlawful and promised “adequate” retaliation.

According to the FBI report, among the groups compromised by the FSB hacks was the Democratic National Committee, which was again infiltrated in early 2016 by another Russian agency, the military GRU.

The report largely corroborates earlier findings from private cyber firms, such as CrowdStrike, which probed the hacks at the DNC and elsewhere, and is a preview of a more detailed assessment from the U.S. intelligence community that President Barack Obama ordered completed before he leaves office next month, a source familiar with the matter said.

Much of the information provided in the report is not new, the source said, reflecting the difficulty of publicly attributing cyber attacks without revealing classified sources and methods used by the government.

Some senior Republican leaders in the U.S. Congress have expressed outrage at what they called Russian interference in America’s elections, diverging from their own party’s president-elect. The allegations and sanctions mark a new post-Cold War low in U.S.-Russian ties.

Throughout the raucous campaign, a steady stream of leaked Democratic emails clouded the candidacy of party nominee Hillary Clinton. In the aftermath of her defeat, Democrats have accused Russia. Meantime, Trump, a Republican, has questioned whether Russia was truly at fault and told the Democrats to get over it.

“It’s time for our country to move on to bigger and better things,” Trump said in a statement on Thursday.

Trump has praised Russian President Vladimir Putin, tapped people seen as friendly to Moscow for administration posts and rejected assessments by intelligence agencies on the hacking.

The FBI said hackers gained access to and stole sensitive information, including internal emails “likely leading to the exfiltration of information from multiple senior party members” and public leaks of that information.

The report did not name hacked organizations or address previous conclusions reached by the Central Intelligence Agency and FBI, according to U.S. officials, that Russia sought to intervene in the election to help Trump defeat Clinton.

‘You’re fired!’: NY school board chair opens a massive can of whoopass on Trump racist Carl Paladino

The Buffalo School Board in New York sought to oust Carl Paladino on Thursday following his racist tirade against Michelle Obama. During the meeting, School Board President Barbara Seals Nevergold didn’t hold back in her criticism of the former Donald Trump campaign co-chair.

“Words matter, Mr. Paladino,” she said during the meeting, which Paladino did not attend. “Our president, the Commander in Chief of this nation for the last eight years, Mrs. Obama, our First Lady, and Mrs. Valerie Jarrett, special presidential council [SIC] are all African-Americans. Among other things, they are accomplished, intelligent, beautiful people and that’s not just my opinion.”

But under Paladino, Nevergold said that they were reduced to criminals, frauds or gorillas.

“The impact on children of color, especially African-American children is incalculable,” she continued. “How do we encourage them to use their God-given talents to soar, to reach for the stars, when a sitting board member responsible for their education demonstrates such contempt of their role models?”

She went on to say that Paladino’s contempt for the first family and their aides has fallen to a level of “unmitigated and hateful, racist and misogynist, rhetoric” that can’t be disassociated from the race and culture of the students in the district. Paladino has established a record and a pattern of behavior that the board believed violated his oath of office as well as the ethics as a board member.

Nevergold said that she has heard from people all over the state, indeed the country, who were shocked that Paladino would “demonstrate such a lack of responsible leadership.”

“They would like me to tell you, ‘You’re fired,’” Nevergold continued, as the audience applauded. She asked that he do the right thing and resign.

 

No Trumpazoid Kids at DC Elite Schools

It seems the Trump’s dumb blonde advocate is about ready to find out exactly how inhospitable living in DC can be to the “dumbarati”. The DC area has some of the best private schools in the country. The sitting President’s children go the Private Schools for security reasons. Sidwell Friends is probably the best known, and is a highly selective school academically. Both of Obama’s daughters attended there. Other top schools academically are National Cathedral School, St. Albans School, Maret, Madiera (very international), Georgetown Prep, St. Anselm’s Abbey School, and Episcopal High School. Most of these schools offer some number of scholarships for academically gifted poor children, whose  parents can’y afford to fork over the $12,000 to $35,000 annual tuition. And, at schools like Sidwell, you cannot buy your way in. Several of the schools are endowed with enough money they really don’t give a damn who, or how rich mommy and daddy are, if the kid doesn’t have the academic chops…They don’t get in, period.

Selection of school depends on what your objective is:

1. If it is to have your child build relationships with future business and political leaders – it’s St Albans.
2. If it is to have your child build relationships with future International leaders, including perhaps Presidents of foreign countries – it’s Madiera.
3. If it is to have your child build relationships with future thought leaders and intellectuals of America – it’s Sidwell.

If the objective is to get your kid into the Ivy League Colleges – then it actually is one of the free public schools, Thomas Jefferson (IF your kid has near genius IQ), McLean, or Langley in Northern Virginia (If you can afford to live in the neighborhood where the average home is well over $1 million). About 13% of McLean kids wind up in the Ivy League.

Kellyanne Conway’s children have two strikes. They probably attended one of those right wing “christian Academies”, which leaves them about 4 years behind their grade level compared to any of the DC area’s elite public or private schools. She opposes almost every one of the tenets of the elite private schools on Diversity, opportunity, intellectualism, critical thinking, and world view. So why exactly would they be interested in taking on a dumbarati parent who is going to make trouble? Whining about their kid having to sit next to a black kid from the ghetto in class.A kid who, incidentally has an IQ about 50 points higher than Conway’s inbred get.

The swamp of Washington’s elite private schools want to drain themselves of Kellyanne Conway’s kids

The future counselor of the president suggests her kids are struggling to gain enrollment at D.C. private schools

Kellyanne Conway successfully managed Donald Trump’s campaign all the way to the White House, but now she can’t even enroll her own children in a Beltway private school. Conway reportedly shared her concerns last week at her twins’ current private school in Englewood, New Jersey, telling parents that the Washington, D.C. elite were barring her kids’ admission.

According to Richard Johnson of Page Six, Conway believes prejudice against President-elect Donald Trump might prevent her children from receiving a private education.

Conway, who is set to be the counselor of the president, told Johnson: “I would not characterize myself as ‘worried’ so much as amused by the silence and sighs on the other end of the phone when friends and allies have made preliminary inquiries on our behalf.”

A source confirmed to Page Six that Conway is asking everyone with connections for help.

Conway took a tour of private schools in the D.C. area on Wednesday, but was reportedly disappointed with the double standards in the schools handbooks and websites, which all preach diversity and open-mindedness. Conway sardonically told Page Six: “For some, there is a comfort in sameness.”

But Conway’s right-wing views shouldn’t be a prohibiting factor. After all, D.C. is governed by conservative politicians and government workers.

Conway, a mother of four, is married to George Conway, who was the attorney who wrote the Supreme Court brief when Paula Jones sued former President Bill Clinton for sexual harassment.

At Madiera School the kids come from all over the world (they have dorms) – so the school is one of the most racially and ethnically mixed in the area. Some of the childrn are the daughters of foreign government officials including Ambassadors and officials in the World Bank and International Development Bank (IADB).

Chicago man rampages on woman caught in racist Trump rant on viral video

A Chicago man was arrested for assaulting a Donald Trump supporter whose racist rant inside an arts-and-crafts store gained international attention.

Police said Ramiz Bajwa went into an apartment building where Jennifer Boyle, who was caught insulting black employees in a viral video, lived and physically assaulted her, reported CWB Chicago.

The 29-year-old Bajwa allegedly shoved Boyle on Dec. 20 and called her “a racist b*tch-ass whore.”

Bajwa was charged with simple battery in the attack.

Boyle became infamous last month after another shopper recorded video of her berating black employees at a Michael’s store because they asked her to pay $1 for a reusable bag.

“I voted for Trump — so there,” the woman shouted. “You want to kick me out for that? And look who won.”

A second video surfaced afterward that showed Boyle yelling in similar fashion at Peet’s Coffee and Tea, and her former employer was deluged with complaints after she was identified and linked to Sinai Health System, based on a social media profile.

Boyle no longer lives in the Boystown apartment building, according to court records.

Some members of the Radio City Rockettes dance troupe are worried they could lose their jobs if they don’t perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.

And the decision whether to perform at Trump’s ceremony is causing tension within the group, one of the dancers said in aninterview with Marie Clairepublished on Tuesday.

The union representing the iconic dancers apparently made the group’s Jan. 20 performance optional, after public backlash over reports they would be forced to perform at Trump’s inauguration, according to the dancer, whom Marie Claire assigned the pseudonym, “Mary.”

“The majority of us said no immediately,” Mary told the magazine. “Then there’s the percentage that said yes, for whatever reason — whether it’s because they’re young and uninformed, or because they want the money, or because they think it’s an opportunity to move up in the company when other people turn it down.”

“If I had to lose my job over this, I would. It’s too important,” she said.

 

 

Black Guns Matter

A friend and fellow shooter turned me on to some stats coming out of the National Rifle Association the other day. It seems that the majority of gun buyers in the last month since the Chumph’s “election” have been minorities. Inspired in no small part by the thousands of Hate Crimes being committed by racist Republicans and Trump supporters, who feel they have free reign to murder, maim, and terrorize black and minority populations in a redux of the Second KKK of the 1920’s.

Spurred on by the fact that the Chump’s followers massively armed up, that the Chump’s cabinet selections of white supremacists suggests the Law enforcement will turn a blind eye to hate crimes, the open advocacy of white supremacy by Fox News media such as Bill O’Reilly, and the thousands of Hate aggressions and hate crimes since the election…Minorities need to arm themselves to protect themselve, significant others, and their children from hate crazed Trumpazoids.

It seems that black folks aren’t left with much alternative other than to protect themselves in this country. The last time the KKK rose in 1918’s “Bloody Summer”, they got stopped cold by the fact black folks got their guns and fought back. The Washington, DC “Race riot” being an example. Black Tulsa didn’t go down easily, as armed WWI Veterans fought back actively. This happened again in Knoxville where the State Guard joined the white rioters.

Black Guns Matter is one of several new organizations  in startup mode to assist minority peoples to protect themselves (Their website as of this writing is not fully live, but is bookmarked). The NATIONAL AFRICAN AMERICAN GUN ASSOCIATION, founded in 2015 is an organization promoting training, and is making waves.

I will continue my series on my recommendations of the best weapons to defend yourself during the Trumpocalypse and likely Civil War. My first post in that area had to do with what I feel are the best pistols for concealed carry (I’ve got a new one to add to that list I personally got to try out a couple of weeks ago the Canik TPS9, which won’t break the bank, and has some of the best safety features and accuracy I have seen in this class.) I will expand on that first article to Full Frame or Large Frame Pistols, Best Home Defense Weapons, Shotguns, Rifles, and my feelings on the best “Meet and greet” weapons allowing someone to reach out an touch over 1/2 mile away.

 

Now it’s the liberals who are arming up

When it looked all but certain that Hillary Clinton was going to win the presidency, nervous gun rights advocates reported stockpiling guns and ammunition they feared would no longer be available if the Democrat won the White House.

The threat of Clinton presidency, along with several recent mass shootings, had led to 18 straight months of records in the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check system for people seeking a permit to buy a firearm. Many were concerned the government would enact regulations restricting their access to guns.

But since Republican Donald Trump, who was endorsed by the National Rifle Association and supports gun rights, won the White House in November, gun shops anticipated sales would taper off. Shares in major gun companies fell, anticipating a slowdown.

Yet that doesn’t seem to be the case: On Black Friday this year, NICB processed a record 185,713 background checks — the most ever on a single day in the 20 years the system has existed.

And some of those gun buyers are what the industry calls “non-traditional.” Namely, minorities, gay people and self-described liberals.

“In the more conservative gun world, there is definitely a feeling that liberals hate guns,” Liberal Gun Club spokesperson Lara Smith told the BBC. She said there as been a spike in inquiries to her organization after Trump’s election and that paid membership has increased 10 percent. People have expressed concern that an increase in hate crimes since Trump’s election could escalate into something more violent, Smith said, and they want to be prepared.

“Yes, there are liberals who dislike guns, but the vast majority of them have never been around guns and don’t know much about them other than what they are told,” Smith wrote on her organization’s website.

Smith said she has been working with other non-traditional gun groups like Black Guns Matter and Pink Pistols. Pink Pistols promotes “legal, safe, and responsible use of firearms for self-defense of the sexual-minority community.” The group, which has 45 chapters nationwide, calls itself a shooting group that “honors diversity” and “teaches queers to shoot.” Although it has worked in conjunction with the NRA, the Pink Pistols considers itself non-partisan.

Gun shop owner Michael Cargill told NBC News gun classes at his Austin, Texas store are selling out. He’s noticed an increase in LGBTQ, African-American, Hispanic and Muslim customers. Store owners told NBC they’ve seen up to four times as many minority customers than is typical.

The National African American Gun Association, which has 14,000 members, has seen an increase in interest following the election.

“Most folks are pretty nervous about what kind of America we’re going to see over the next 5-10 years,” the organization’s founder Philip Smith told NBC. “I tell everyone don’t panic, use your head. If you see something not normal, get out. You’re probably right. And if you’re not able to get out, you’re prepared to do what you need to do.”

Texas officer shot black man as he walked away, dashcam video suggests

A police dashcam video appears to show a Texas officer shooting a black man as he is walking away from the officer and not posing any immediate threat.

A lawyer for David Collie released a copy of the video showing the July encounter with a Fort Worth officer and a Tarrant County sheriff’s deputy. The officer and deputy were off duty at the time and working a security detail together at an apartment complex, attorney Nate Washington said on Wednesday.

He said Collie was shot in the back, leaving him paralyzed.

This release of dashcam footage comes on the heels of another recording involving alleged police misconduct in Fort Worth posted on Facebook Live last week. It showed an officer aggressively arresting a woman and her two daughters.

Washington said he released the video to show that last week’s incident was not an isolated case.

“Many members of our community have been assaulted, handled roughly by Fort Worth police officers,” Washington said. “To be clear, we believe the vast majority of police officers are good and decent people.”

Police at the time were searching for two shirtless black men who they believed had committed a robbery near a gas station, Washington said. Authorities said in a news release they issued at the time that Collie had pulled a box cutter from his pocket and pointed it at the officers.

Collie was charged with aggravated assault on a public servant but a grand jury declined to indict him.

Fort Worth police told NBC 5 that they would not comment until an internal investigation was complete. “In order to abide by state law, there is a process that we have to follow for the fairness of all the parties involved,” the department said. “Once the investigation has concluded, we will provide you with the results.”

Collie, 33, was walking from work to a friend’s apartment when the officers approached him in the patrol vehicle, Washington said. It was the Fort Worth officer who shot Collie, Washington said, and the video appears to show the officer firing his weapon about 10 seconds after exiting the vehicle, as Collie walked away.
The video was obtained about three weeks ago from the Tarrant County district attorney’s office through an open records request, Washington said.

The attorney also said he released the video on Tuesday at a news conference at Collie’s insistence because Collie was tired of comments made to his mother by people assuming he must have done something wrong.

Washington said Collie wanted to make clear he “didn’t do anything to threaten an officer”.

In the incident that prompted Washington to release the video, cellphone footagecaptured a white Fort Worth officer last week wrestling a black woman to the ground and then arresting her and her two daughters. The officer appeared to be argumentative and escalate the encounter with the woman, who had called police following an encounter between her son and a neighbor. The video has been viewed millions of times.

 

More People Killed by Police Than Reported

Police kill 135 people in America a month. That seems like a lot. Some…Possibly even most of them are justifiable – but the level of carnage seems rather large. There are about 15,000 murders in the US a year currently, not counted in that total are the 1,620 or so killed either by police actions during arrest, or those who die in incarceration. That means 10% of the people killed in the US…Are killed by the Police either justifiably, or by malignant action. This number is nearly 4 times the number actually reported by the Police.

More People Die in Police Encounters Than We Thought

New federal data offers a more accurate picture.

The number of police-related fatalities in the United States appears to be far higher than the federal government has previously estimated. The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) has been tracking the data since 2000. But a new hybrid program that combines media reports and crowdsourcing techniques with reporting by police agencies has resulted in new estimates of civilian deaths that are closer to reality. The data, released last week, include deaths related to police interactions with subjects on the street as well as deaths that take place while a suspect is in police custody.

The bureau’s researchers identified 1,348 arrest-related deaths from June 2015 through March 2016 using media reports and crowdsourced information—an average of about 135 deaths per month. For June through August 2015, they also surveyed police agencies and identified an additional 46 arrest-related deaths—or 12 percent more—than the number the bureau had tallied independently for that time period. Extrapolating the data, and correcting for the police-reporting disparity, the bureau estimated there were about 1,900 arrest-related deaths in the 12 months ending May 2016.

The lack of reliable federal data on police-involved deaths received national attention in August 2014 after Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen, was killed in Ferguson, Missouri. In the absence of reliable numbers, the Washington Post and the Guardian US began tracking officer-involved killing in 2015 using media reports and crowdsourced information, a model the Department of Justice drew on for its new program. The Guardian US determined that police killed 1,146 people last year during interactions on the street. By contrast, police departments reported just 444 police shootings to the FBI in 2014.

In August, the DOJ announced it would ramp up enforcement of the 2000 Death in Custody Reporting Act (DCRA), which stipulates that states that do not provide quarterly reports on arrest-related deaths could lose up to 10 percent of their DOJ funding. But the enforcement mechanism was only incorporated in 2014, and a DOJ assessment determined that BJS had been capturing only about half the true number of arrest-related deaths—in part because most law enforcement agencies simply ignored the reporting mandate. It is unknown whether the act will be strictly enforced under the Trump administration. The president-elect and his prospective attorney general, Jeff Sessions, have criticized the DOJ’s involvement in local policing.

North Carolinians Revolt Over Republicans’ Brazen Post-Election Coup

“The avalanche of anti-voter surprise bills introduced yesterday by the extremist leadership of the North Carolina General Assembly in a constitutionally suspect ‘extra session’ is an insult to the democratic values held by all people of goodwill in this state.”

Refusing to accept Republican lawmakers’ brazen power grab, hundreds of North Carolinians flooded the halls of the General Assembly building in Raleigh Thursday evening to shame the officials as they passed a series of measures aimed at stripping power from Governor-elect Roy Cooper.

Twenty people, including one journalist, were reportedly arrested for disrupting the special session, during which the GOP-led legislature passed a number of bills that would limit the ability of the incoming Democratic administration to make appointments and control elections.

According to the Charlotte Observer:

On Thursday evening, some protesters began to laugh when senators characterized one of the proposed bills as designed to end partisanship, said Lori Bennear, 44, of Raleigh.

“Then people booed,” she said, “and they got a second warning. So people started making hand gestures instead. Some people hissed, and the (Senate) said the hissing and the hand gestures were disrupting the business of the Senate.”

A similar move followed in the House. Protesters then filled the upper floor of the rotunda, chanting “Whose House? Our House!”

Afterwards, a crowd of roughly 300 gathered outside the chamber, cheering as police officers led away those who had refused to vacate the gallery. “A chant of ‘All political power belongs to the people’ rang out uninterrupted for about 15 minutes,” the Observer noted.

Rev. William Barber II, president of the state chapter of the NAACP and leader of the Moral Monday movement, issued a statement Friday condemning the legislative action.

“The avalanche of anti-voter surprise bills introduced yesterday by the extremist leadership of the North Carolina General Assembly in a constitutionally suspect ‘extra session’ is an insult to the democratic values held by all people of goodwill in this state,” Barber said. The session had been convened under the auspices of passing relief funding for victims of recent flooding and wildfires.

“It is immoral, it is unconstitutional, and this illegal session is a direct attack on the people of North Carolina,” he added.

There are more protests planned for Friday as the General Assembly will hold final votes on the most controversial bills before they land on the desk of outgoing Republican Governor Pat McCrory.

One bill that passed the House on Thursday “calls for making Cooper’s Cabinet appointments subject to approval by the state Senate and drastically cutting the number of state employees the governor can hire and fire,” the News & Observer reported. Meanwhile, “[t]he Senate approved a bill that would evenly split election boards between the political parties rather than keep them under control of the governor’s party.”

“These changes represent deep violations of the Democratic process,” Barber continued, “and the faith that voters place in the elected process. To these legislators, who were elected under racially discriminatory redistricting plans, we say that this madness must end now and the people’s vote must be respected.”

He continued:

These bills corrode fundamental principles of separation of powers. The bills introduced for consideration attack public education and the environment, rig democratic institutions, and attempt to control future elections with no public comment, no notice, and no attempt for bipartisan considerations that would include the voice of African Americans and other people of color and our chosen representatives.

For his part Cooper, currently the state attorney general, has said, “They will see me in court.”

As for Friday, the General Assembly is reportedly attempting to wrap up by 1pm “to miss the largest crowd,” according to the NC NAACP, which is asking demonstrators to come early. Official Who Called Michelle Obama ‘Ape In Heels’ Won’t Keep Job After All

The nonprofit she formerly led will now be overseen by another state agency.

A West Virginia official who called first lady Michelle Obama an “ape in heels” in a widely shared Facebook post has been permanently removed from her position.

Pamela Ramsey Taylor will not continue as director of the Clay County Development Corporation, a state- and federally funded nonprofit, Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin’s office confirmed Tuesday morning.

“Following the state’s request for specific assurances that the CCDC is following anti-discrimination policies, we have been assured that Pamela Taylor has been removed from her position as CCDC director,” Tomblin’s communications director Jessica Tice said in a statement to The Huffington Post.

Keep ‘your fat mouth shut’: Trump-backing school principal under fire for attacking Texas cuffed-mom

A Dallas charter school principal, who proudly calls herself on of Donald Trump’s “deplorables,” is under fire for attacking a Fort Worth mom who was cuffed by local cop after reporting a white man had assaulted her son.

In a video that went viral this week, Jacqueline Craig and her daughter were seen being apprehended and hauled off to jail  by a white Fort Worth cop after the officer spoke with the man accused of attacking her son. While the police officer’s actions have been widely criticized, Lana Sprayberry, principal of Inspired Vision Academy Elementary School in Dallas had a different take that has landed her in hot water.

According to The Root, Sprayberry took to her Facebook page to lambaste Craig, telling her she should have kept her “fat mouth shut.”

“Stop trying to act innocent,” Sprayberry wrote. “If you had kept your fat mouth shut the cop would not have had a reason to cuff! I wouldn’t blame every cop to walk off their job in protest!!! Lord help us!!!”

Sprayberry has since deleted the post but not before it was screen-captured by attorney Lee Merritt, who is representing the Craig family, and was forwarded to A+Charter Schools, Inc. which oversees Inspired Vision Academy.

A+Charter issued a response on their own Facebook page, saying: “We are aware of a Facebook comment made by one of our A+ Charter Schools, Inc. employees. While we are unable to comment on this personnel issue, we can share that we are taking this very seriously, and are further investigating the situation.”

New video reveals Fort Worth cop kicked black woman’s 15-year-old daughter after handcuffing her

When a white Fort Worth police officer wrestled Jacqueline Craig to the ground and handcuffed her for complaining about a neighbor who allegedly assaulted her son, the video of the incident was 11-minutes long. Today, the full 23-minute was released by Porsha Carver, who initially posted the first video on Facebook.

The extended clip shows what happened after the arrest, when Craig’s 19- and 15-year-old daughters were also arrested by the officer, the Dallas Morning News reports.

The new video doesn’t show anything that isn’t already known about the incident. However, it might provide police with information needed for their internal investigation into the officer’s behavior, the department told KDFW-TV.

The video shows Craig making the initial 911 call to report the incident. While they wait for the officer, the man who allegedly assaulted Craig’s 7-year-old is painting a fence. The dispatcher asks Craig if she had called before and she answers that she has not. She then asks the dispatcher why the officer hasn’t yet arrived.

“I want to press charges,” Craig is heard on video saying. “This is a grown man. He grabbed a 7-year-old kid and choked him.”

At approximately seven minutes into the video, another man known to Craig arrives and confronts him. He orders the man to keep his hands off the boy before driving away.

About 12 minutes into the video, the officer arrives and speaks to the man accused of the assault. The officer is then seen wrestling Craig to the ground and arrests one of her daughters. At the 15:30 mark, the officer is seen trying to get one of the daughters into the car and kicks her. He sees Carver filming the incident and takes the phone from her but neglects to turn it off.

At the 20-minute mark, the officer asks Craig’s 15-year-old daughter who was kicking his door. “Was that you?”

“It don’t matter,” she tells him. “You kicked me.”

The officer, seems to confirm that he kicked her by saying, “Yeah.”

“You kicked me on my side,” she says.

“When a police officer tells you to get in the car, you get in the car,” he responds.

“I don’t know how to. I’m 15 years old,” she explains.

The police department is conducting an internal investigation into the incident.
