Fox News PR Used Fake Accounts To Push Back At Negative Commenters
Here’s an interesting bit of Fox News skullduggery from David Folkenflik’s new bookon Rupert Murdoch’s media empire, courtesy of Media Matters:
In a chapter focusing on how Fox utilized its notoriously ruthless public relations department in the mid-to-late 00’s, Folkenflik reports that Fox’s PR staffers would “post pro-Fox rants” in the comments sections of “negative and even neutral” blog posts written about the network. According to Folkenflik, the staffers used various tactics to cover their tracks, including setting up wireless broadband connections that “could not be traced back” to the network.From the book itself:
Fox PR staffers were expected to counter not just negative and even neutral blog postings but the anti-Fox comments beneath them. One former staffer recalled using twenty different aliases to post pro-Fox rants. Another had one hundred. Several employees had to acquire a cell phone thumb drive to provide a wireless broadband connection that could not be traced back to a Fox News or News Corp account.Folkenflik’s book has already roiled News Corp with its account of Wall Street Journal staffers who found their attempts to report on the company’s phone hacking scandal met with roadblock after roadblock. (The company denied the account.)

Can I ask you a question as we work back around to Faux News?
Earlier this week when MSNBC’s Michael Eric Dyson was sitting in the chair that is warmed up by his Progressive soulmate Ed Schutlz – he made the comment “REPUBLICANS SEEK TO ENTER GOVERNMENT IN ORDER TO DESTROY IT”.
Dr Dyson – a proclaimed reverend of progressive revelation – focused on the NATIONAL battle between Progressives and the Rightwing – but I noticed that he AVOIDED any discussion about the LOCAL truth.
At the time when the city of Detroit is in bankruptcy proceedings – this after 50 years of the run up to “Mission Accomplishment” per the inducements by people like M.E.D.s – he couldn’t bring himself to inspect if the PROGRESSIVE CONFIDENCE MEN who now dominate the local government powers where Black people live are the DESTROYERS OF GOVERNMENT.
Is it worse that Fox News – the voice of your enemy is corrupt OR should you be bothered more by the fact that WITHIN YOUR OWN PROGRESSIVE PRAYER CIRCLE there are fraudulent individuals who operate unchecked by you as they molest more people?

I see you haven’t mentally been able to move past the false equivalency stupidity, I call it AIDs of the conservative mind.
The collapse of the city of Detroit had a lot less to do with progressive leadership than the fact that the economic basis on which the city was built collapsed. Ergo, the American Car Industry. And it wasn’t conservatives who made the Japanese Auto Industry make better cars, while the American companies continued to produce junk. I believe the City of Birmingham also went bankrupt…Deep down there in the dread Red Zone. Was that because of conservatives like yourself molesting people?
