Unsure is this can be defined soley in terms of all good or all bad. It’s good that the NSA has been making news; conversation, and possibly some type of legilation (after 2014), can hopefully take place because of it: restrictions or guildlines on contactor company access to sensitive information should be a priority for example. But, some 29 year old running around the globe with sensitive information isn’t good – there are governments (regardless of where Snowden is geographically) that could treat him like a cat toy and take whatever he’s got, if they thought it was of any value. That may have already happened for all we know.

He is basically a cat toy for the Soviets and Chinese at the moment. The problem being he had access to lot more than just the telephone spying system.
