In truth, it’s nothing more than trying to bring the President down to their level.
Congress’ Job Approval Rating Worst in Gallup History
Americans’ assessment of Congress has hit a new low, with 13% saying they approve of the way Congress is handling its job. The 83% disapproval rating is also the worst Gallup has measured in more than 30 years of tracking congressional job performance.
And approval of Republicans in Congress…
Is lower than the temperature in Buffalo, which just got 6-8 feet of snow!
7%?
And Gallup tends to lean slightly in Republican’s favor!

I’m not sure, but I saw a lot of new politics running last cycle to show me that there is a change coming to the GOP and DNC. And the majority of Americans so far liked what they saw from the GOP.
We will have to wait and see how it trends in 2012

I’m seeing the DNC splitting before the GOP does, look at how the progressives are fighting against the liberals over the tax rate/unemployment benefit extension proposal.
The progressives are going to make it so that the “Blue Dog” Dems will go to the GOP in 2012.

Doesn’t matter. It won’t essentially change the electoral politics. The demographic numbers make it even tougher sledding for Repubs in suburban districts.
The issue right now is that the Democrats were given an electoral mandate to move… And they didn’t.
So they lost.
Now – Republicans get all of the blame for what happens next year. Read some of my posts on the economy – and you might understand why it’s a good time not to be the Party in the limelight.

The issue was more that the Dems moved in the wrong direction after 2008. The majority of Americans that voted for the Dems did not expect such a leftist agenda being pushed.
Don’t worry, Barry and the Dem controlled Senate will make enough mistakes that they won’t be able to use the GOP controlled House as a shield, they will get plenty of spotlight on them as they become the new party of no.

The majority of people who voted for the Dems in 2008 expected them to make fundamental changes in the system, pass legislation, and get things done.
Got nothing to do with any imaginary “leftist agenda”.

Ironically, low approval ratings never result in major changes unless the incumbent chooses not to run. It seems people can disapprove of the 435 member House and 100 member Senate but approve of their representatives. Even if I can’t stand Orrin Hatch, there is nothing I can do to unseat him given that I’ll never live in Utah.
We’ve had a “throw the bums out” climate before, but it seldom results in huge turnover. All the reps around me are in safe seats.
BT, think this president will use the veto with this next congress?

I don’t think any Republican sponsored bill which would be objectionable enough to veto will reach his desk, Brotherbrown.
The real change is going to be in how he manages the Federal Government. Up until now, either through ignorance, or some misplaced sense of bipartisanship – very little has been done to whip that in line and use it efficiently or effectively outside of possibly State Department and Petraeus’ current ongoing efforts to reign in DoD.
There are rumbles of a huge reduction, if not downright elimination of the Bush era bloat, which replaced a number of Government employee jobs with private contractors costing twice as much. Talked to one major defense contractor who felt they were in for a 40% revenue drop this year, as the DoD Contracting System is overhauled in an effort to eliminate the overspending and corruption of the Bushit Administration.
The Rethugs will squeal like stuck pigs. Look at which states are impacted by a DoD reduction, and you will see why.

Yes the local and the state will have increase cutbacks, why many in the GOP are not happy with earmarks being withdrawn off their game plan. With the push for lower property taxes, and those states that cannot raise taxes, this is going to be quite interesting (add resource problems also). Folks have a very limited and almost Hollywood view of what a collapse looks like, for dystopias is over there – NIMBY. One reason for this growing resentment of our Congress. We better start sucking it up, with good sense.
It was only in those supposedly high Union towns and Liberal Black areas, according to the neo-cons. And this whole happiness thing in the South, even if one is poor!!? Argentina and Russia has had theirs and it passed over the American citizen, for the media did not want to touch it, for aren’t we g_d’s gift to the world. Why folks like Boehner crying frighten me, for deep down he has a mean streak, with is concept of the American Dream. Both nations have given up much in relationship to democracy and the poor. Drugs is so high now in Argentina and is growing exponential here, meaning like Heroin and Meth. I say we are back to a fight on what do we do with the new slums which will paint the Earth, as a Global Middle Class grows. I have seen some in New Mexico and they are wilder than East New York, NYC. The next 20 years for us will be quite interesting to say the least. By the Grace of God so I Walk.
