    Is Obama f*cking kidding?

He just threw a black woman under the bus based on the lies from a fat-assed white supremacist propagandist Andrew Breitbart.

Like other Democratic presidents Obama has thrown liberals under the bus time and again. Be it not closing down Guantanamo asap, not supporting the public option, throwing Van Jones to the wolves when Fox linked him to communism does he seriously think that liberals should take him seriously?

I think the problem with Obama is an unwillingness or inability to take on the whack job right – which has become just about the whole Republican Party right now. I am hoping he did that for the sake of his legislative agenda, and what we are going to see is a more aggressive President. As for November, the Dems had better get it in gear – the country really can’t afford 2 years of Republican impeachment and investigation bullshit right now.

bt, I wish I were as optimistic as you are but as you stated on another thread Obama’s ability to throw people under the bus is going to come back to haunt him and it will probably haunt the Democrats in November because after his actions no one believes that he has any convictions that he is willing to fight for.

Look at how Obama mis-handled the stimulus package. Obama was so obsessed with being bipartisan that he compromised away major parts of the stimulus package and instead of the economy roaring we’re in fear of a double-dip recession just as Robert Reich and Paul Krugman had predicted.

Obama had major political capital after the inauguration but he has compromised it away at every occasion. But he’s governed as if he was Bush in 2000-moderate and fearful of some huge backlash.

Although I believe that the Republicans will gain some seats I don’t think they will gain a majority in either chamber, but the problem is the committees and sub-commitees. If the Republicans can sway a Democrat or two then they launch investigations that will tie up the White House and distract Obama.

As for Obama becoming more progressive he’s not going to have a choice because he’s going to be fighting for his political life. He’s allowed the wingnuts to draw blood on too many instances and you know how wild animals act after they have gotten a taste of blood.
