Another Christian Conservative Republican Pervert

09 Sep

Yet ANOTHER Christian Conservative Republican with a zipper problem. This one  in California, talking on tape about having sex with Lobbyists. Lobbyists who are “lobbying” him, and the Committee he chairs…

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Republican state Assemblyman Mike Duvall, a Christian conservative from Southern California, was caught on tape, bragging about his sexual escapades and extramarital affairs with two women. Duvall, who has preached against gay marriage and on behalf of “family values,” bragged about spanking one of the women while a microphone was on in the state capitol. “So, I am getting into spanking her,” he told a Republican colleague. “Yeah, I like it. I like spanking her. She goes, ‘I know you like spanking me.’ I said, ‘Yeah! Because you’re such a bad girl!” Duvall apparently thought a microphone in the state capitol building was turned off when it was actually on.

He then goes on to talk about having sex with a second lobbyist, who reportedly works for an Energy Company lobbying his committee. Duvall, who was elected to the state assembly in 2006, is vice chairman of the Committee on Utilities & Commerce which overseas contracts for power supply to California. He is  a twice a president of the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce, and served two terms as Mayor of Yorba Linda.

Both of the women he brags about having sex with are  married. Local media have named one of his mistresses as 36-year-old Heidi DeJong Barsuglia, a lobbyist for the energy company Sempra. Duvall is 54, is married and has two children.

In April–two months after Duvall became vice chairman of the Utilities &
Commerce committee–privately owned California utility giant Sempra Energy hired Barsuglia as one of its top lobbyists, according to Secretary of State
 records.
Barsuglia, who has a law degree and once worked as a speechwriter for
Governor Pete Wilson, had previously worked at the California Retailers
Association (CRA). During 25 months of work at CRA, she reported that she incurred no reportable lobbying expenses. She joined Sempra after the
departure of another lobbyist: David Hayes, who was named deputy director of the Interior Department by President Barack Obama.
The San Diego-based utility conglomerate isn’t shy about lobbying
lawmakers for favorable treatment. This session, they gave Duvall $1,500 in campaign contributions. In May, the assemblyman officially adopted the company’s negative view on Assembly Bill 64, which proposes increasing the percentage of electricity the utilities must procure from environmentally
 sensitive sources.

According to the SF Chronicle, Duvall resigned just a few hours ago

Assemblyman Mike Duvall, R-Yorba Linda, has released a statement saying he will resign his office. Here’s his statement: “I am deeply saddened that my inappropriate comments have become a major distraction for my colleagues in the Assembly, who are working hard on the very serious problems facing our state. I have come to the conclusion that it would not be fair to my family, my constituents or to my friends on both sides of the aisle to remain in office. Therefore, I have decided to resign my office, effective immediately, so that the Assembly can get back to work.”

Wow… This on a day when 60 fellow Republicans in the South Carolina House call for Mark “King David” Sanford to resign

I guess the new Republican standard is – If there are no tapes… Don’t resign!
