02 Sep

I wonder if this one will leave a mark?

You don’t go on Rachel’s show and BS.

Rachel’s point which Ridge could not deny was that the Repubs have no credibility on national defense. I hope Colin Powell eventually writes a true mea culpa book, but I bet his sense of loyalty will prevent him from doing so.

I think Condi will forever be a Bush cheerleader, and Cheney is probably too mean to die, so he’ll be trotted out every 60-90 days to grumble.

If Condi isn’t a Bushit… Then some of the blame rests on her lap.

I think the War was Dick Cheney’s baby, from start to finish. I think Powell played good soldier and went along with it, although he is culpable.

I also think the Obama Administration is wrong for not prosecuting.

I was compiling bits of information on this pastor. He is an interesting subject. I was trying to determine if his vitriol was based on racism. However, he has an interesting approach to the subject of race that is so nuanced his real feelings are cloaked in the biblical references and the other rhetoric he uses.

What is apparent, to me, though is that he is foolish and dangerous, he and the black guy. Which goes back to a point I expressed to bt earlier. This man and folks like him are about to write a check their behinds can’t cash. That’s illustrated by the beat-down he received. He and folks like him are going to wave those “don’t tread on me” banners once to often.

The pastor story is a bit deeper than they are mentioning. Apparently he also made threats against the First Lady, which would be consistent with some of the stuff Rev Mack Daddy has spewed.

Seeing how this guy was arrested at the Border, I would guess he is also connected with one of the Minutemen militia splinter groups (Thank You Border Patrol for lighting his ass up!). In particular, there is a group which split off from the original Minutemen which is comprised of violent reactionaries – who wanted to take direct action against illegal immigrants, versus working with the Border Patrol. Generally, prior to the Minutemen’s armed tactics, most of the Coyotes smuggling groups across the border hadn’t been armed. Creating an arms race for “self defense” by flashing guns and possibly shooting at illegal immigrants makes the job of the Border Patrol substantially more dangerous – not to mention the possibility that the Minutemen run across a group of really bad guys thinking they are illegals – AKA the drug smugglers.

In my view, Rev Allen crossed the line – and should be prosecuted. I think a couple of years getting religion in the general population of a federal prison might well provide an epiphany, and return the rev to the fold of Christianity. I think he has earned the dubious distinction of having the Secret Service, the FBI, and Customs all up his ass the next year or so.

As to Chris, the nice folks out there tend to live and let live – but it wouldn’t be terribly surprising if the boy didn’t “walk into a door” one night. I’m wondering if there is a connection between him and another black guy who was heavy into the Militia movement back in the 90’s, and actually had a pro-confederate website called the Sierra Times loaded with right wing whack-jobs.
