Color of Change – 20 Advertisers Drop Beck

18 Aug

This one is shaping up to the ass whuppin’ of the year!

Coming Down Around His Shoulders

Coming Down Around His Shoulders

As to today, Color of Change announced that 20 advertisers have pulled their advertisements, or specified that their advertisements not be shown during the Glenn Beck show on Faux News.

ColorofChange.org announced today that the nation’s largest retailer Wal-Mart has pulled its ads from Glenn Beck’s Fox News program. Seven other companies joined the retail giant, including Best Buy and CVS have stopped advertising on Beck’s program. This now means that 20 advertisers have left Glenn Beck since he called Obama a racist.

Allergan (maker of Restasis), Ally Bank (a unit of GMAC Financial Services), Best Buy, Broadview Security, CVS, Re-Bath, Travelocity and Wal-Mart all announced that they will no longer advertise on Beck’s show.

When you look at the list of all 20 companies that have left Beck, there are many household names there. ConAgra, GEICO, Lawyers.com, Men’s Wearhouse, Procter & Gamble, Progressive Insurance, RadioShack, Roche, SC Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis, Sargento, and State Farm Insurance have all previously dropped Beck.

Is the Baycott being effective?

To quote the Sno’ Ho’ – “You betcha!” (wink, wink)

The American Spectator, the news magazine of the Clinton “Scandals”, including being funded by Richard Mellon Scaife to try and take down the President in the infamous “Arkansas Project” led off with

The particularly unsavory left-wing pressure group Color of Change has an axe to grind with Glenn Beck — and it’s personal.

The extremist racial grievance group isn’t happy that Beck did several news packages on Van Jones, President Obama’s controversial green jobs czar who describes himself as a communist. (Green really is the new red.)

Jones is a founding board member of Color of Change, but Color of Change doesn’t want you to know that. Maybe having an avowed America-hating radical on the group’s board is bad public relations.

The group deleted references to Jones on its “about” page. That page used to say, “James Rucker and Van Jones came together in the wake of [Hurricane] Katrina to use the organizing power of the Internet to give Black Americans and our allies a renewed and strengthened political voice.”

But now it doesn’t.

If you follow the Van Jones link – you will notice Faux New’s fingerprints …

If you go here to Color of Change’s “About” page, you will notice –

Van Jones (Co-founder, inactive)

While Van hasn’t been active in the work of ColorOfChange in recent years, we are proud of where his work las led him. After helping ColorOfChange get started in 2005, Van moved on to other pursuits. In 2007, he founded and served as the executive director of Green For All, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for low-income communities connected to the greater effort of addressing climate change. Van now serves as Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

NewsMax, an organization which has never been overly concerned with facts added to the   conservative counter-charge with

In an Aug. 13 Newsmax article suggesting that an advertiser boycott campaign of Glenn Beck’s Fox News show spearheaded by the group Color for Change, co-founded by current Obama administration official Van Jones, is “being orchestrated with some high level help from the Obama White House,” reporter David A. Patten quotes Vadum as saying, “I don’t have proof that the White House asked Color of Change to help it fight back against Glenn Beck … But I wouldn’t be surprised to learn it had. Van Jones has the president’s ear. It’s a few hundred feet from his office at the Council on Environmental Quality to the Oval Office.”

Oh yeah… Van Jones! The same Van Jones who stopped working for Color of Change  in 2005 …

And as we all know, Washington is a small town. I’m sure President Obama sitting in the Oval Office can hear Jones shout from his office from a mere 100 yards away across Pennsylvania Avenue!

Love the sound of whiny conservative voices whimpering in the mornin’…

Glenn Beck winds up with his show canceled, because he is dragging down Faux Network revenue.

      THAT’S you ass whuppin!

Looks like a few other conservative talking heads may be joining him for a long term stay at the Golf Course…

Beck should be worried as the large corporations continue to pull their advertisement from his time slot. I tuned into his program last night for a minute and noticed he was sucking up to small business owners. I betcha after the program he ask them to buy advertisement space 🙂

Fat chance. Money is tight right now, and few small businesses have extra to waste on trying to keep this blowhard afloat.
