SOTU…And the Wingdizzie

Good speech tonight by President Obama. Good response also by the Republican side.

Then the was the clown show, by Michelle Bachman which CNN carried.

The key earth shaker in the speech was Obama’s plan to restructure the Federal Government. This was an interesting move, and basically a statement that Obama would (finally) begin utilizing the apparatus of the Federal Government to accomplish his goals. It also means the bloated infrastructure developed under the Bush Administration is going to get torn down – moving us back to a Clinton style small lean federal  government.

He said the corruption is a target – I think that is a serious warning to the miscreants, in Congress, in politics, in Wall Street, and in the Banks.

Would have liked to see him take on the gun lobby.

But overall – President Obama moved the dime in his direction.

Justice John Roberts Whine

This one makes you shake your head. John Roberts, one of the most political, ideological appointees in the history of the Court weeping because the President of the United States recognized the fact that the Supreme Court has degenerated into an ideological freak show. Roberts was the scumbag who took the 5th, claiming he had no memory of joining the infamous Federalist Society – despite him being listed as a member 10 years previously.

John Roberts, who replaced Rehnquist as the chief justice in 2005. That year, Newsday reported that Roberts had made racist and sexist jokes in memos that he wrote while working in the Reagan White House. And, The New York Review of Books published a scolding article in 2005 making the case that during the same period that he was making those jokes, Roberts marshaled a crusader’s zeal in his efforts to roll back the civil rights gains of the 1960s and ’70s — everything from voting rights to women’s rights. The article began, “The most intriguing question about John Roberts is what led him as a young person whose success in life was virtually assured by family wealth and academic achievement to enlist in a political campaign designed to deny opportunities for success to those who lack his advantages.”

SCUMUS CHief Justice John Roberts - Just Another Racist, Ideological Hack Bushit Appointee

U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts said Tuesday the scene at President Barack Obama’s first State of the Union address was “very troubling” and that the annual speech to Congress has “degenerated into a political pep rally.”

Responding to a University of Alabama law student’s question about the Senate’s method of confirming justices, Roberts said senators improperly try to make political points by asking questions they know nominees can’t answer because of judicial ethics rules.

“I think the process is broken down,” he said.

Obama chided the court for its campaign finance decision during the January address, with six of the court’s nine justices seated before him in their black robes.

Roberts said he wonders whether justices should attend the address.

“To the extent the State of the Union has degenerated into a political pep rally, I’m not sure why we’re there,” said Roberts, a Republican nominee who joined the court in 2005.

“Jindalized” – Another Political Suicide

Last night on the Republican response to the President’s SOTU, shiny new Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell followed in the footsteps of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal…

In committing political suicide.

The amount of personal hubris to be stupid enough to make this speech, while still trying to consolidate leadership in Virginia – is incredible.

Predictably - President Obama cut McDonnell’s nuts off – before he said the first word. There has never been an instance in my memory of an opposing party speaker being so massively outclassed, out maneuvered, and out smarted. Mcdonnell’s speech was rendered utterly and completely superfluous.

McDonnell stated last night that he wanted Vriginia to “be the first state to drill offshore on the Eastern seaboard”.

As a property owner on the Atlantic coast, participant in efforts to protect the barrier islands and wetlands on the Virginia coast, and avid fisherman…

Fat effing chance, Bozo!

You better stick with “privatizing” the state liquor stores and figuring out how to come up with a Republican plan to actually support small business development (beyond local liquor stores) in the state for the first time…

Instead of sucking Oil Company fat weenie.

Obama to Yellowcrats – “Govern”

One of the most frustrating things about the Dem majority in Congress is their continued tendency to chicken out each and every time the Republicans raise and objection or the Right-wing noise machine cranks up the static.

Democrats have failed over the last year by waffling, with predictable electoral results.

To those Democrats who have demonstated the lack of cajones…

The Post-Racial SOTU

Matthews lays out an interesting dynamic of President Obama’s SOTU Speech last night. Opposition to this Presidency has far too often been based on race – not politics. That isn’t only the slack-jawed inbred Republican Tea Bagger sort – but doubts some white Americans have about this black guy with a funny name, who doesn’t look like Joe next door. It is the second sort of “not quite racism” which leaves the door open for the Drugbos, Becks, and Sno’ Ho’s to spew their vile racist filth.
