This is a telling interview, and I believe a good assessment of the Haitian view of things on the ground. Haitians, at least the ones I’ve met, and the few I’ve gotten to know and love as family through the years are a proud people. They also have long memories. One of their fears is for their country to become an American Colony again, as it was after US Troops invaded the country and occupied it from 1915-1934. This may have some serious ramifications on efforts going forward to build the economy.
