As we all know, there is little to no chance Dick Cheney will be prosecuted for his many crimes, despite the fact that there is ample legal precedent for his extradition based on the very same legal precedents set by Republicans in prosecuting Bill Clinton after he left office…
I say, turn him over to Nigerian authorities!

Dick Cheney and others face charges in Nigeria
Nigerian investigators say they have filed charges against former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney and others connected to the energy services company Halliburton, accusing them of paying bribes to secure a lucrative natural gas project in the 1990s.
Cheney and nine others are accused of charges that include “conspiracy and distribution of gratification to public officials,” Femi Babafemi, a spokesman for the country’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, said Wednesday.
The investigation is part of a long-running case involving Halliburton and a subsidiary firm, Kellogg, Brown and Root, over alleged bribes paid to Nigerian officials to secure $6 billion worth of contracts for a liquefied natural gas project in the Niger Delta.

Gen Colin Powell lays out the case that much of the criticism leveled at President Obama by Republicans is nothing more than hot air. In particular he destroys Dick Cheney’s disingeneous allegations that the Obama Administration has reduced, or somehow compromised the effort to combat terrorism…

Calling the ex-VP Dick on his bullsquat. Republicans have gone way overboard in trying to make Terrorism a political issue, while blocking substantive progress attempted by the Obama Administration. It’s time to consider Political Domestic Terrorism as just as dangerous as that of Al Qaeda.

During the Bushit Administration, private armies were encouraged, financed, and developed ostensibly to free up US troops to focus on combat operations. The largest of these companies was Blackwater, which is now operating under the name Xe. Blackwater was just one of several dozen companies which “magically” appeared and were granted no-bid contracts in the billions of dollars making instant millionaires out of people with the right connections to the Bushit Junta.
The first public hint that these private armies weren’t quite on the up and up came early as part of the Abu Garib torture scandal, where it was revealed that a number of the contractors hired by several of these companies included former member of the South Africa Apartheid regime’s special police who had tortured and murdered members of the ANC and South African freedom protesters. At least some of these private contractors were being used in “Rendition” projects, AND – not being subject to the Military’s legal restrictions, the torture of prisoners. These contractors operated as Dick Cheney’s private Army – a quasi legal military organization not bound by the Geneva Conventions.
One of the most visible of these companies was Blackwater, founded by Erik Prince. Erik Prince is the son of Edgar and Elsa Prince and is the brother of Betsy DeVos. Betsy has claimed – (more…)
