Seems yet another member of the infamous “C Street” Crew has been busted.
Chip Pickering, like Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) and South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, has lived in a “christian fellowship home” on C Street. The house belongs to a secretive “christian” organization, of which apparently there is very little public information. According to Rachel Maddow -
But if you consult this building’s financial paper trail, you will find that it’s actually considered to be a church. That designation makes C Street a convenient tax-free haven for the secretive organization that runs it, an organization known as the Family.
The C Street House, is registered as a church and provides substantially lower than market rate rent to “christian” Republican Congressmen and Senators – which in itself is a bit on the questionable side.
Ensign and Mark Sanford have been the subjects of adultery scandals in recent weeks. Ensign had an eight-month affair with a former campaign aide, Cindy Hampton, and he resigned his leadership post after admitting to the relationship. Sanford secretly left the United States to met his Argentine mistress, setting off a national furor over his disappearance. Going back a bit, these guys may not have been the first.
Pickering was apparently conducting “pantie raids” in the “”C Street” clubhouse – which raises the question of whether this house was really a christian fellowship…
Or just a grown up “boys” frat house getting a tax deduction for the “religion” of booty chasing.
