I think every father confronts his son at some stage as part of the growing up and leaving home process. The young bulls confront the old bull. Although in some cases it winds up being expressed physically.

That isn’t what happened here.

I think the question is based around the relative assumption of guilt of the son – and whether there is a bunch of underlying stuff which still hasn’t come out. That doesn’t justify the murder, but it may mitigate the unishment the father receives.

Frankly, eugenics is the wrong term. Off-spring homicide (is there a term in the family of patricide or fratricide?) is regrettably not uncommon in this world, and this is a classic case of a man feeling he can control his family to the point of ending their life if he so chooses.

I don’t know if all the facts of this case are known, but killing your son, particularly in the torturous manner alleged in this case, is an especially harsh punishment. I have had to physically confront my son when he was in the age ranges of 14-16, but it could never have risen to the level of even wanting to bruise and bloody him. And because I could foresee him in the future as 22 year old, a 30 year old, etc, ending his life as a teenager? Out of the question.

If these allegations are true, the man deserves the needle. This was a cold-blooded massacre.
