Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh confirmed reports that he is among the bidders to purchase the St. Louis Rams.
“Dave Checketts and I have made a bid to buy the Rams and we are continuing the process,” Limbaugh said in a written statement, according to the Associated Press.
CBS first reported Sunday that Checketts, the chairman of hockey’s St. Louis Blues, and Limbaugh were among the bidders.
There have been similar reports since then.
According to the AP, Limbaugh said in his statement that he and Checketts would operate the team if their bid is successful but he declined to name other investors and refused to discuss other details, citing a confidentiality agreement with Goldman Sachs, the investment firm reviewing the assets of the estate of former Rams owner Georgia Frontiere for her family.
Well – that won’t leave the rest of the league’s left side linebackers and safeties with much to do…
The Rams will always be running to the right.
The league supposedly has a “substance abuse” policy. Having an Oxycontin addict own a team…
Really is going to make that worth the paper it’s printed on.
