President Obama has been a boon to the Burger joints in the DC area. Friday, the Prez made a run to 5 Guys to pick up burgers for the staff and himself.

Been fishing today. 4 Keeper Flounder in about 3 hours between 2 of us. Not bad. Put out the crab traps overnight…

Not me. I’m down on the ocean shore for a few days of decompression. The tide is almost up, so I’ll be out fishing again this evening.
Know that area (Occoquan) and dam pretty well from fishing as a kid in the reservoir. I also had a boat for a while at one of the Marinas there on the river. Had to pull a couple of guys out of the slipstream below the dam some years ago who had stupidly tried to approach the dam in a small powerboat from the downstream side and got capsized when the current drove them onto a rock. Fortunately a couple of us saw it happen, and we were able to get rope from the nearby Marina to toss out to them and haul them ashore.
Know of several incidents where people have gotten killed playing around when that water flow is that high. Even downstream, under the Rt 1 bridge and 95 overpass the water is 25-80′ deep with some pretty strong currents.
