Better look out for the shrapnel from the exploding Faux News heads – as one of their very own makes complete idiots out of the spewing heads crew.
This one courtesy of Think Progress. The wingdizzies over at Faux got wound up over the new DHS Report on right wing extremist groups proliferating in the United States and posing a potential terrorist threat.
Seems they weren’t the only ones as one of the writers at the American Spectator launched a hit piece today on the the very same subject, claiming among other things -
If you’re reading this, chances are you’re a terrorist.
That’s because if you are opposed to enlarging the redistributive state and spreading the wealth around, as the bulk of American Spectator readers presumably are, then by definition you’re a potential terrorist…
The DHS report suggests that if you’re a conservative or a libertarian, if you believe in gun rights or don’t support abortion rights or an immigration amnesty, if you don’t like high taxes or welfare programs or if you dare to believe that the Constitution actually limits the power of the government, you’re at risk of turning to terrorism.
And further evidencing the most profound of conservative intellect -
The problem is that relying on data from the Southern Poverty Law Center, which I previously profiled, is always problematic.
Faux News, never one to be left out of the dust of a even possibly rising shitstorm, launched their spewing heads with a vengeance, even suggesting the report was the Obama Administrations attempt to stifle the Tea Baggers…
– ANDREA TANTAROS: It’s free speech and the Obama administration is trying to shut it down.
– JAY ALAN SEKULOW: The Obama administration here under Department of Homeland Security has allowed a new regime to come into place that basically says this: Our focus is going to be on the right-wing groups.
– SEAN HANNITY: What do you think of that interpretation, especially coming from a guy that started his political career in the home of an unrepentant terrorist who bombed the Pentagon and capital and sat in Reverend Wright’s church for 20 years?
– DANA PERINO: If Bush had done that we would be having a very different conversation. It wouldn’t have taken a week to find it out. There would have been a special prosecutor. We would have had to come out and apologize.
There were several things the merry mental midgets at Faux apparently missed in their rush to blame Obama -
The report had been ordered by the Bush Administration,
The reporton right wing groups was preceded by a report on left wing extremist groups released in January… Also ordered by the Bush Administration.
Watch the movie below, as a soon to be unemployed Faux News Analyst lets the cat out of the bag…
Definitely overqualified for Faux…
